IPad 2, 3G, iOS 5.1, App Switch Crash

Hello,
my beloved iPad2 crashes every time i double tap the home button. It also crashes when i used the gesture to reveal the app switch bar.
The first time it happend, i made a reset (hold power and home long, restart) and it fixed it.
Now it's not helping anymore and i can't multitask which is like a total product failure.
I'm really mad, does anyone know a fix? And please don't tell me to totally reset my ipad and use a backup. That would suck and degrade an iPad to a Windows PC basicly.

Have you tried the following:
1. Restart iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPad. To turn iPad back on, hold down the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears.
2. Close inactive Apps
Double-click the Home button; hold Apps down (in the Task Bar) for a second or two until you see the minus sign. Tap and close all inactive Apps.
3. Reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Ignore the red slider.

Try:
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

IPad upgrade to iOS 6 lost apps/data

I have just upgraded my iPad 2 to iOS 6.0.1. I backed it up beforehand, but the upgrade has lost virtually all the applications, and their data as well as the music (which I backed up manually beforehand). Is there any way to recover this?

After update to IOS 7x some apps are crashing a lot & system Reboots!

After installing IOS 7.1.1 on 1 x iPhone 4 16GB, 3x iPhone 4s 64GB and 1 iPad mini 64GB, Apps started crashing which worked well on IOS 5.5 & IOS 6. After Updating to IOS 7, the problems started. Some of my favourite games like "Call Of Duty: Black Ops Zombies"and Avengers Initiative keep crashing at the start. "Call Of Duty" reported Low Memory even though I turned off Background App Refresh, Re-downloaded the Apps, performed full system reboot, enabled "Reduce Motion", enabled "Increase Contrast" and still no luck. I have also deleted many of my Apps to free up storage space but still no improvement. Other problems major problems are that the screen freezes and Apps become unresponsive requiring a full system reboot. This happens very often and also when trying to update or download Apps the system crashes and often Reboots itself. I believe the main problem is with low memory because I ran an App called "Battery Doctor" which shows that 82% of the 512MB RAM is already been used before any Apps have even been started leaving only 89MB of free RAM which is hardly enough to run decent Games on. There are many occasions when FaceTime wouldn't allow Sign In and in iTunes Apps would revert to how they were after applying changes. When adding Contacts, changes would often revert back. Also I have noticed that the iPhone sometimes would display the wrong amount of free Storage space and it would sometimes show like 5GB available and then go to 0MB available and cause crashes during downloads. Another problem I found was that when Apps start up, a white patch shows on the screen temporarily which wasn't apparent before IOS 7x. When adding contacts I noticed that with "Increase Contrast" disabled, some of the entries added did not display while typing with the keyboard and the text was greyed out making it difficult to read what you are typing. Now I wish that I had not updated to IOS 7 as suggested because it has messed up my £700 iPhones and I don't see a way of downgrading without Jailbreaking making my phones worthless. We are very very upset and disappointed because we paid so much money for the devices and have not had them long. We do not want to buy a newer device just because of the update messing up our phones. Also I do not want to try and restore from a previous backup because the last few times I've tried and it does not restore everything. It is very time consuming and I am too ill to go through all that again on each device. Also I believe the restore does not give me the choice of going back to IOS 5.5 or IOS 6. Therefore if Apple could give the opportunity to update to IOS 5.5 or IOS 6 for older devices and have a separate update for IPhone 5s which have a faster processor and double RAM (1GB) then I would be very grateful. I would also like to add the fact that IOS 7.x.x drains the battery very quickly. After reading the many complaints about IOS 7 update & my personal experience, I now regret updating and also fear that future updates may render my iPhones useless. I bought my iPhone 4s direct from Apple and paid a premium for Factory Unlocked iPhones. I think the iPhones may now be out of warranty and are very unhappy with this situation. Please, please please could you send a fix in another update!

Actually DIESEL they do force you to update. my wife has not update hers yet to ios6 and none of the apps work at full tilt anymore because they are all updated for ios 6....Apple is now making you either update(and ruin your iphone 4s) or buy the new iphone 5(which i doubt will have any of the problems people with iphone 4s are having).
Since updating my 4s i have lost signal, data has been very low at best. i can not access any apps or they open up and do not refresh. I use to have 4bars at my work and now i have 1.

IPad Mini with iOS E-mail app

I'm using the iOS app for email because I like the clean layout.
I use it with gmail, however I don't receive the emails right away.
It is really annoying having to refresh to check for new emails instead of getting a 'pling' and a notification.

I purchased this device 2 months ago when the Apple genius told me the Health app was being released with iOS 8
assuming anything running iOS 8 would have the app. not just the iPhone.
I hope Apple transfer the app to the iPad like all good Apps developers do !!!!

Ipad mini 2 ios 8.1 apps freezing

I'm having problems with apps freezing. Usually what happens is i close an app using the 4 finger hand gesture and it will freeze half way while closing the app. I will then click the home button and it will take me back to the home screen. After that it will let me open up any app but it wont let me click anything, only on the home screen. Happens daily at this point and have to restart every time.

Having your apps freeze can certainly be frustrating. After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help with software issues. Have you attempted to restore the device to factory settings without restoring from a backup? Test the issue on a new installation, and make sure that it works. Then use the same article to restore from your backup to either verify it still works, or isolate the issue to the backup itself.

Ipad 3 using iOS 7. App Store seems locked and is unusable. Any ideas?

App Store is locked, showing the Checkers game as an overlay. I can see the App Store behind the game but it is unusable.

Just updated ios 4.3 app store crashing please help!!!!!!!

everytime since i have updated to ios 4.3, i will launch the app store and it will load for two seconds then just crash. like can someone help me please?? ]:

I tried everything from the hard reboot to restoring. I even reinstalled Itunes and like the Apple tech support said. Nothing worked.
In the end, I just went into settings, and did:
Settings->General->Reset->Reset All Settings
DO NOT ERASE ALL CONTENT AND SETTINGS.
Reset All Settings should be good enough. And all of a sudden, my Apps Store was working like a charm again. All my music and apps was still intact - I just had to set my wallpaper again.
Try that.

Ios simulator's apps are crashing

I am trying to test my new app but the ios simulator will open the app it will go to the opening picure of my logo then exit the app
I tryed with my other apps also but it still didn't work
please help

Update: I have done the following.
Deleted the offending crashing apps into the trash from my Mac.
Deleted the trash.
Restored phone to factory settings
Set up the new iPhone.
Installed apps that weren't crashing on to phone via Mac.
Then downloaded new versions of the apps which were crashing from the App Store.
Result? Some of the apps are still crashing.
FYI. All the apps which are crashing have recently had updates to run on the new version of iOS 8.1.3 or 8.2
*Shrug*
Carry on I guess until the next iOS update or the apps get updated themselves.

IOS 8 Photos App keeps crashing...What to do???

As soon as i open the iOS 8 Camera Roll / Gallery photos app, it just crashes, What could i do to ???

Try a Restart. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Resetting your settings You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.
Resetting your device Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
Or if this doesn't work and nobody else on the blog doesn't have a better idea you can contact Apple.

After upgrading My Ipod touch 4g to ios 6 the app store crashes everytime i try to search an app?

I kept trying to search for an app. And it would just crash everytime. Idk why. Its really annoying though. Is anyone else facing this problem aswell? And my imessage won't send pictures at all. I tried 6 different times. Any solutions?

I am experiencing the same difficulties, This may not be the answer but maybe the processor may not handle it but I am not too sure.

Can anyone help? I'm getting very frustrated since last update my IPhone and IPad Mini keep crashing. I will be in e middle of games or browsing or making a phone call!, and it crashes and brings up the black screen with the white Apple in the middle. It take a few mins to open again!!! Very annoying. May have to Restore??

First thing to try is a reset: Hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until you see the apple, then let go.

IPad stuck with iOS 8

I'm very frustrated with new operating system. Recently updated to ios8 ,have had nothing but "freezing of screen", "unable to contact server" ( when there is NO problem) unable to " close" current window. Apple, please please fix this!!!! Sorry I updated!

These are user-to-user forums, you're not talking to Apple nor iTunes Support.
What have you tried to see if they improve things ? Have you tried :
- updating to iOS 8.0.2
- closing apps via the iPad's taskbar : iOS: Force an app to close.
- clearing Safari's history and data : Settings > Safari
- soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
- backing up (and copying any purchases over to your computer's iTunes library via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases) and restoring
- adjusting settings e.g. turning 'reduce motion' on (Settings > General > Accessibility), turning off 'background app refresh (Settings > General), turn off multitasking gestures (Settings > General)
- resetting back to factory defaults (after copying off purchases and any documents, photos etc that you want to keep) and then resyncing
