My iphone 3gs is stuck at recovery mode while updating software 4.3.3
my iphone 3gs is stuck at recovery mode while updating software 4.3.3 and even itunes is not responding . and i m using newest software of itunes on mac. please help.
If you followed all of the steps within that article then it's almost always a hardware issue. Reason being is that if you attempted restoring the iPhone from another computer (as the article informs you to), and you are still stuck in recovery mode, it proves that it is not a problem with the iTunes installation on your computer.

IPhone 3GS is stuck in recovery mode after update
I just synced my iPhone to my computer and installed the newest iPhone update using iTunes. After the sync/update was finished (all but my photos because for some reason iTunes has never backed up my photos from my phone) I was prompted to restart my computer only there was an error when my computer was booting back up. Now my phone has the "connect to iTunes" screen and when I connect it says that it is in recovery mode. In order to recover it says that I will lose all my media files. Is there any way to get my phone working again WITHOUT losing all of my information?
ThanksTry holding the button on top of the phone at the same time pressing the home key on the front. Keep both depressed for about 7 seconds.
This should reboot the device and retain any info you have. Hope it works for you, good luck.

I plugged my iphone 3gs into itunes yesterday and it started to update the software - presumabley to 10.5? - came back to it an hour later and it was displaying an image of a usb cable and itunes symbol which i now undertand means its gone into recovery mode.
I tried to restore it to the factory settings as advised but it won't work. Its telling me "This device could not be restored, it is not eligible for the requested build"
Please help - this phone is not jailbroken!Ok, after 2 nights searching forums and trying different things I have managed to find a solution. I had to add a '# ' at the begining of the host directory. This means nothing to me and I had to follow the steps in the following link but it worked perfectly -

Ipad 2 stuck in recovery mode after updating to IOS 5, Unknow error -1
Hi Everyone,
my Ipad 2 is stuck in recovery mode after updating to the latest IOS 5. Tried to restore, it comes up with unknown error -1.
Ive tried all that I can including the tips given in the apple forums and internet. Please help.Hello soccerlime,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
The error code "9006" in iTunes when updating or restoring your device indicates that access to the iTunes update servers is being blocked. Please take a look at the information below to help resolve this error.
Check your security software
Related errors: 2, 4, 6, 9, 1000, 1611, 9006. Sometimes security software can prevent your device from communicating with either the Apple update server or with your device.
Check your security software and settings to make sure that they aren't preventing a connection to the Apple servers.
Resolve iOS update and restore errors
Take care,

Deleting files and emptying your recycle been will help you restore." how am i going to erase files if i can't open my ipad. i dont know what to do. Its been 2 days now. please help. thanks.
yes i am sure. This are the exact words... "The iPad "iPad" could not be restored. The disk you are attempting to use is full. (Removing files and emptying the recycle bin will free up additional space". i tried some options, hard reset, redsnow, tinyumbrella but still it's stuck.

hi desperately need help. my iphone 3gs is stuck in recovery mode... when i try and do the restore via itunes it goes through the motions but when it gets to the end it tells me there was an error and it couldnt be restored... originally it was an ex contract phone that i had opened to orange from vodafone.. it was fine until i tried to do the ios 6 update
There is a way to get it recovered from the so called DFU mode. Try to restart the phone while holding the home and power button at the same time. Then try to connect it to iTunes and do the same again. If you try that again till it works you should be able to use your iPhone as before.

My iPod touch is stuck in recovery mode and won't restore?
Okay my Ipod Touch is stuck in recovery mode and will not restore because "the ipod software update server cannot be contacted". I have tried to restart my computer, restart my ipod, tried different computers, and re-intalled AND updated my itunes and it still will not restore. It is stuck on the picture of the usb cable pointing to itunes and won't do anything else. I'm trying to restore it because my memory was full and I wanted to clean it out and now the ipod is useless, please help me restore it!
Update Server
Try:
- Powering off and then back on your router.
- iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
- Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers
Public DNS — Google Developers
OpenDNS IP Addresses
- For one user uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes resolved the problem
- Try on another computer/network
- Wait if it is an Apple problem
