IPad 2 – Airplay can't see Apple TV

I have an iPad 2 running iOS 8.1 and an Apple TV 3 with the latest software and I can't use Airplay to send content to my Apple TV. I know there is no issue with the Apple TV since I can use Airplay to send content to my Apple TV using my iPhone 6, and Macbook, but not using my iPad. Oddly, Airplay will work on my iPad when I connect to my airport express, but not to my Apple TV - Apple TV doesn't appear in the drop down menu yet my airport express does! I have gone through all the usual fixes (restarting, restoring, etc. etc.) - to no avail, my iPad simply can not find my Apple TV for some reason. Any help would be greatly appreciated! cheers, d

Hello, I was wondering if you had any update on your issue, because I have the same than you.
It's not in a home environment though, it's at my workplace.
We have a laboratory using approximatively 30 iPad 2 and an Apple TV 3rd Gen and last month our Apple TV glitched and we had to restore it to factory default.
We set it exactly as it was before, everything was working then (iPad 2 were detecting the Apple TV and could mirror, etc.
Now, the iPad 2 (all of them) can't see the Apple TV in the AirPlay menu, but they do detect all the other Airplay-enabled devices on our network.
My personal iPhone 5S see the Apple TV via P2P Airplay, my colleague's iPhone 6 see it too and the Apple TV is definitely working by itself, it access internet and such, so it's not a connectivity issue.
The only thing I can't confirm is whether the Airplay feature is broken for all non P2P-capable devices or just for the iPad 2, because we don't have other models available.

Try a reset; hope it'll force it into Recovery Mode
Hold the Sleep and Home button down until you see the Apple logo.

If you select a mailbox, you should get an Edit button (easier to see in landscape mode). Clicking the button will provide you with check circles for the messages. You also get Delete and Move buttons at the bottom. Check the messages you want to move and then navigate to the mailbox you want to drop them into. I think as long as you can navigate to a mailbox you can move the messages to it.
In the Mac Mail application and probably Outlook on the Windows side, you also setup rules to move messages to specific mailboxes. If the mailboxes are stored on the server, then you can have the sorting done on the server and they should appear that way on the iPad. If your later messages do not show up, you may need to have the iPad app pulled down more messages until they are all showing.

Why I can't see Apple website videos on Samsung tablet? Used many browsers, same result...

I could not find a website issues community and this one was the closest I could find. If this needs to be moved to a different community, please do so.
I realize it's cross platforms, but web browsing should be the same for everyone, no matter what device is used.
I can watch Apple website videos just fine on Windows/Chrome browser (or IE, Firefox) but can't on Samsung Android/Chrome browser (also tried Firefox, Opera, Samsung browser).
Other websites embedded videos are working (i.e. youtube, vimeo, forums etc.) so far it is only the Apple website embedded videos that are not working.
Any idea why?

Hi Markie,
It's not in the top window now, it's in the main section. When you plug your iPod in click on it and at the bottom of the window the Capacity pole changes as it adds stuff.

I can't see apple tv on my computer as one of the devices

I am trying to use the home sharing feature, have confirmed that I am hooked up to the same wifi connection.
I can't see Apple TV as a device when I open up Itunes on my computer.

Apple TV will not show up as a device unless connected to iTunes for a restore. Home-sharing is separate regardless and you access your iTunes library via the computers section on Apple TV (provided your computer is on and running iTunes of course)

both are connected via ethernet, mac mini has hands off installed
i try to use guest account but can't see from there too

Which Apple TV are you referring to. Only the much older first generation Apple TV will show up as a device in iTunes.

Airplay can not detect apple tv

Airplay mirroring can not detect apple TV.
I upgraded to mountain lion this morning and the air play icon appears on my macbook pro but it can not detect my apple tv. Apple tv is running 4.4.4 gen 2.
Any ideas?
Here's the interesting part, when I disable airplay on the appleTV the icon on my macbook disappears and vice versa.

4.4.4 is old. It may be the reason but I can't confirm as my AppleTVs are 5.0+ and none of my Macs can Airplay.

I have an Apple Tv.The first time it work all very well! I'm having the same problem, and suspect it is due to the latest update to iTunes (8.1.1[10]). My router sees the ATV, and I can access trailers from the ATV, so it is connected to my local network and to the Internet. I've tried all the suggestions in Apple's Support help file (TS1453), including restarting the computer and resetting the ATV w/o success. I did have iTunes and ATV synced on my old computer, but killing that didn't help. Now I can't see it from the old computer either, and of course all my music and movies are gone from the ATV.
