IPad 2 and iPhone 4S not showing in iTunes 11.1.5

Hi
This might be a really common problem but searched before posting to avoid duplicating but just tried to put some new music on my iPhone 4S, running 7.1 and films on iPad 2 running same and nothing shows in iTunes v11.1.5. Normally this works over the wifi when they are powering up but even trying direct USB nothing shows. Tried rebooting iMac and Google searching but now totally stuck. I havent tried this for a couple of months due to moving so I dont know the last time it all actually worked as supposed to. Any thing obvious I'm missing?

Many thanks for your prompt reply however, I found this post and it worked perfectly. I hope it helps other users.
Plug your Ipad USB cable into USB port.
Go to your Control Panel, click Hardware and Sound, then click Device Manager.
Click on Portable Devices, and you should see Apple Ipad shown (or whatever apple device your using).
Right-click the Apple Device your using, and choose Update Driver Software..
Click "Browse my computer for driver software."
Click "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer."
Click the Have Disk button. (If the Have Disk option is not present, choose a device category such as Mobile Phone or Storage Device if listed, and click next. The Have Disk button should then appear.)
In the "Install from Disk" dialog, click the Browse button.
Use this window to navigate to the following folder:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers.
Double-click the "usbaapl" file. (This file will be called "usbaapl64" if you have a 64-bit version of Windows. If you don't see "usbaapl64" here, or if there is no Drivers folder, look in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers. instead).
Click OK in the "Install from Disk" dialog.
Click Next and finish the driver-installation steps. Open iTunes to verify that the device is recognized properly.

IPad and iPhone are not shown in iTunes

Yesterday all works fine. I connected my iPad and iPhone to iTunes and they were synced. But now, they aren't displayed in iTunes.
I am using Lion and iTunes 10.4.
Furthermore, i noticed, iTunes doesn't start up by plugin my devices since i installed Lion. Is this normal?

Mobile purchases (iPad and iPhone) are not showing in PING

I'm not sure if this is me or the App.
Today I purchased a fair amount of media on almost every Apple device I own! Some songs on my iPhone, a few TV shows on my iPad and AppleTV as well as some movies and complete albums on my Mac Pro.
All the purchases from my Mac Pro show in my PING feed, but none of the others do. I thought this might be a sync issue, but even after coming home and synching - the only purchases that are "fed" to my "feed" are those from the Mac Pro (main library).
Obviously, they are all using the same account and such. The only "odd" thing that happened was that when I went to rent a movie on my AppleTV, it failed and said it had a problem connecting to the iTunes Store - even though I was able to watch previews. A quick sign-out/sign-in solved this and I was able to rent (but it still didn't show in PING).
Anyone else getting the lack of feed from mobile purchases?

I purchased an album yesterday on my iPad before I even looked at ping and it showed up on my ping feed. I still can not see ping on my iPad. Has anyone else been able to do so?
However, it does appear to be capturing my music purchases.

I have Windows 8. Itunes is not recognising either my ipad or iphone. I have googled and read much about this problem and associated solutions all of which I have tried except the solutions tend to be windows XP or Vista based. Can ANYONE help me. I've not backed up either product since January when i first got the pc and itunes actually worked. Thanks in advance

Ipad and Iphone will not detect via Itunes

Ok here is the issue,
I have IPhone 4 Verizon and Ipad 2 3g Verizon.
My Ipad2 screen broke and I received a warranty Ipad 2 but my Dellinspiron with the Intel 3400 chip will not detect on iTunes.
Windows 7 see it and I can pull photos off. I worked with Apple onissue and at store with 10 reps. my old I pad detects just fine and my IPhone but any other
IPhone or I pad will not detect. I have tried and wiped ITunes, QuickTimeect ect and even went into registry and deleted all files and still same issue.
It’s boiling down to the Intel chip 3200 and its almost lookingfor a certain IPhone or I pad and will not detect any other but original phoneor pad.
If anyone is experiencing a similar issue let me know. I have been allthe way up the ladder at both apple and dell and still the issue looms.

I can post diagnostic from CPU if needed.

This is reported quite often.. more often the iphone than the ipad.
Reset the TC and do the setup again. This time setup wireless manually.. use no spaces and only alphanumeric characters in any name and password.. TC name, wireless name, wireless password tc password if you set one.
Set wireless to manual not auto, and give 5ghz a different name.
Set channels.. this is the important part for iphone as it can only use 2.4ghz.. so set channel 1, 6, 11 in turn. These are the only non-overlapping channels.
Set wpa2 security.
You should be able to get the iphone to connect.. if not remove the security until you do and try again.

I've tried a lot of the stuff mentioned at that link and elsewhere, modifying host files etc. trying to downgrade my iPhone 4 back to 5.1.1 no luck , apple has locked up 5.1.1 for my phone and iPad . one post said I'm "stuck with iOS 6" darn I should have been more careful. I have the 5.1.1 Ispw on my MacBook its a permissions thing I don't understand. You have a couple of options to get them in your photo stream:
Open the photos one at a time and take a screenshot. This will add a new low resolution copy of the photo to the camera roll, which will then upload to your photo stream;
Email the photos a few at a time to yourself, then save the attached photos to your camera roll. This will add a copy of the photo at full resolution to your camera roll and upload to photo stream;
Use an app like PhotoSync, which will allow you to wirelessly transfer copies of all your old photos to your computer all at once. Then delete these photos from your camera roll and use PhotoSync to transfer them back from your computer to your camera roll. These will be the original resolution and will upload to your photo stream. (You need an app like this because iTunes will not transfer photos back to your camera roll, where they must be in order to add to your photo stream.)
Or, you can add them to a shared stream and invite yourself as a subscriber (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmc0cd7e99). The shared stream will appear on your iPad and you can either leave things this way, or save them to the camera roll on your iPad and delete the shared stream. They won't be in your photo stream but they will at least be on your iPad.

Since installing lion, my mac no longer recognises my external hardrive also my ipad and iphone no longer automatically start itunes.
