Hi, I'm new to the forums so please be nice :)
Anyway, I got my iPad 2 on launch day and I love it. I purchased a smart cover shortly after. I think my smart cover must have been faulty, because it has permanently scratched and marked the side of the iPad. I know apple will replace my iPad with this problem (a friend has the same issue). But last night I dropped my iPad and now it has a long scratch down the centre of the screen. Will apple still replace my iPad because of the smart cover problem, or will they say no because of the scratch? Thanks.

You'll have to ask them. Having dropped the iPad may well have voided any warranty you had, but only Apple can say for certain.

It is better to sell it yourself and use the money raised that way to get the new iPad.

Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $199 for 64 GB 4G and $99 for the other 4Gs. They do not fix yours.

if you have done all trouble shooting steps and are within the one year warranty then yes they will swap it out for nothing if your out side of your limited warranty it will be 249$ to get it replaced

If they were, restoring this backup to your iPad would recover the pictures.

My hard drive continually has the floating beach ball and will take massive time to fulfill a request. And then will not boot up...so then I have to do a restore and rebuild hard drive from a past saved time machine version. Works for a little bit...then the floating beachball comes more and more...until it will not boot up again. So then I restore from a previous time machine saved version....and again it works for a day or so ... until it happens again. Now it's happening faster and faster...so I think my hard drive is dying.

It is easier to get it from the Apple Reseller. They are all over Singapore.
Alternatively, you can get it from the Apple Reseller at Terminal 3 at the airport.

I'm not certain but my new MBA 13...when in sleep mode comes back on from a black screen when I simply click on the left mouse button. Also, one time I did a SECURE EMPTY TRASH on files that totalled more than 1GB and it took so long that the fan kept increasing in speed so I pressed on the POWER button and the MBA shut...I was able to boot up with no problem. As a rule, I now only do secured erases for trash bin data totalling 500mb or less...anything above that gets a regular erase (dump).

hi, I was wondering how the apple store replaces iPhones. Do they give you a new one fresh out the box or a refurb. I was going to make an appointment but I wanted to know how they replace them. Also do i have to give them all the contents that came with if I make an exchange? Thanks.

Per the written warranty in regards to an exchange, at Apple's discretion you will be provided a new or refurbished iPhone. This depends on what the store has available in stock.
If the decision is made to exchange an iPhone at the store, the replacement iPhone is provided only with no SIM card installed and you don't need to return all original contents since the iPhone itself is being exchanged only. You place the SIM card from the iPhone to be replaced in the new or refurbished iPhone and you will be able to place and receive calls right away but you must sync the iPhone provided with the exchange with iTunes on your computer in order to transfer all data.
If an exchange is made, be sure to erase all data and settings on the iPhone to be replaced. Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.
Not to worry about the possibility of getting a refurbished iPhone for the exchange. If you are not made aware of this, you will not be able to tell or notice any difference. A refurbished iPhone is more closely inspected and tested than new iPhones before leaving factory and the warranty still applies.

Perhaps, but maybe not, as what can they do with one with the UK plugs? I'm just saying regional things like that often have to be returned at a store in the country you bought them.
But, just go and ask as the worse they can say is no. If they do say no they cannot exchange it, then for very little money you can buy a UK-to-India plug adapter and use that charger in India anyway. Such plug adapters are only $2-$5 here in the USA on Amazon.
