IPad 2 asking for multiple account passwords that aren't mine

When using my iPad 2 I am constantly prompted to enter 3 iTunes account passwords for accounts that aren't mine and that I've never used. How can I make that stop?

No I'm the only one who has ever downloaded anything on it. Ive only had it since Christmas. I reset all of the settings today because my apps kept crashing and now it's doing this. :/

  • Just got a new router yesterday and my husband's iphone and my ipad are asking for a guest password.  Don't understand.

Just purchased a new router yesterday since ours got struck by lightning.  Now my husband's iphone and my ipad are asking for guest wifi passwords.  Don't understand.

Some new routers come with the standard connection as well as a guest account. The guest account can be used for when friends come over and want to use your Wi-Fi connection. You can give them the guest account password and still keep the main account password private. Make sure you are logging on to the main connection and not the guest account.

It sounds like two Apple accounts were used in the purchase of songs, yours and hers.  Assuming she won't give you her password, you're kinda stuck.  For $129 or so you can repurchase them all.
By the way, if she has the computer and it has your account info in it, you ought to change your password.

  • HT201248 app store  iTunes account password that is not mine.

I have a new iphone5s, app store asks for an iTunes account password that is not mine. My correct ID is shown in the settings menu, Have signed out an back in, wiped phone and restored from old back-up but still asked for the random password.

I had the same thing happen. I synced on my girlfriend's laptop, and when I logged into the App Store on my iPhone it prompted for her password (her Apple ID was prefilled). I plugged it back into her laptop, opened the iTunes store, and logged out of her account, then hit Sync on my iPhone. Resolved (but annoying).

  • When I updated the latest software on my iPad2, every time I wake my iPad, it asks for a Yahoo password to an account that isn't mine.

Has my iPad been hacked?  I can cancel the Yahoo login, but it is very annoying.

No, the account login only started showing up after updating the software to 5.1.
The Yahoo account isn't anyone that has access to my iPad2.
A glitch(?) in the software update???  I can't find anything in my settings regarding the account that's asking for the password.  I guess I'll restore and re-install the update again.

    Welcome to the Apple community.
If you are unable to remember your password, security questions, don’t have access to your rescue address or are unable to reset your password for whatever reason, your only option is to contact Apple ID Support, upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan.
The operator will take you through some steps you may have already tried, however they need to be sure they have exhausted all usual approaches before trying to reset your account, so you should try to be helpful and show patience with the procedure.
The operator will need to verify they are speaking to the account holder and may ask you some questions that only the account holder could know, and you will need to answer them if the process is to proceed.
Once the operator has verified your identity they will send a message through to your device which contains an alpha numeric code, which you will need to read back to them.
Once this has been completed they will send an email to your iCloud email address after a period of 24 hours, so you should check that mail is enabled in your devices iCloud settings.
Upon receipt of the email, use the reset link provided to reset your password, after which you should be able to make the adjustments to iCloud that you wish to do.

  • TS1292 When I input code it just keeps asking for iTunes account password over and over again not loading card

I got a £25 iTunes gift card for my birthday and I have tried to redeem it but it is not working. I don't know if it's not activated but there is no message saying that the card is not inactive and I have checked all the letters and numbers and I have entered them correctly. When I enter the code it asks me to enter my iTunes account password I do that and then it just brings up the box to enter the password again over and over again... Hope someone can help! Thanks!

  • Mail keeps asking for SMTP account password

My mail has quit working and prompts me to enter my password for the account. I enter the password but the prompt comes back every 40 seconds asking for the password again. Mail does not function at all now. Problem started about a month ago. How can I fix this?

Mail asking for a password that you had previously had no problem with usually means the mail server at .Mac/MobileMe is on the fritz. These things usually resolve themselves on their own, but if it persists you may not be making contact with the mail server and may need to restart your computer. Sometimes just logging out of your account on your Mac and logging back in will fix it too.

  • IPad continuously asking for apple id password

My iPad is asking me for my apple id password.  I enter my newly changed password and it still says that my password is wrong.  I can't use any part of my iPad unless I have this password correct.

Once your update etc. is completed you can sign out of iCloud on your iPad using the Settings app.
Settings > iCloud > sign out
Then sign back in with you new password.

  • My latest downloads for my iphone4 are just waiting....for weeks! And when asked for my account password,it doesnt recognise it and asks if I would like to cancel or retry...please help!

    (P.S. Im not very techy!)

Well, it's waiting because you haven't entered a password it recognizes. So if you fix the password problem you will fix the download problem. It's clear that you are not entering the correct password for the account on the phone. Have you verified that the account name is correct? Check in Settings/Store.
Next, in iTunes on your computer click on iTunes Store on the left, then your Apple ID in the upper right. Enter your password here. If it doesn't work here either click the Forgot Password? button. If it does work log in and change your password by clicking the Edit link to the right of your Apple ID, then try the new password on the iPhone.

  • FileVault asking for old account password when upgraded to Mountain Lion

    This is not good.
I recently updgraded to Mountain Lion.
After the upgrade process, my account log in no longer was accepted by FileVault. (FileVault Legacy)
    The system is stating that:
" Your user accont password is different fomr your FileVault Password
This can occur if your user account password was changed recently. To update your FileVault password and continue loggin gin, enter your old user account password"
Yet, the last time I changed my password was perhaps over 1 year ago, certainly not recently, and defenitely after many OS upgrades?
    How can this happen??
Now I can not access any files (Am I expected to remember a password from 1year+ ago?) ... Major Fail.
Anyone having the same issue or a tip to get out of this crazy loop?

Repair your permissions, go to applications  then utilities, then disk utility.  On the left hand side click on mac HD, then click repair disk permissions.  Restart your computer and test again once permissions repair is complete.
