IPad 2 can stream music but not movie to Apple TV

Just purchased my iPad 2 recently (love it) and have now installed a new Apple TV unit. Am able to stream music from iPad iTunes to the tv but cannot find the AirPlay pointer for the movie I purchased.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have iPhone 4 with latest software update and an Apple TV (the one with the HDD) and when I have iTunes open on my iPhone and I chose the icon on the bottom right side of the screen (AirPlay) Apple TV does not show up as one of the choices.
I just did a 'reset' on the Apple TV and it didn't help.
On my iTunes here on my iMac I can see the choice to stream to the Apple TV.
Is anyone else having this problem?

Do you really mean the latest, as in 11.0.1? That was supposed to include a fix for Airplay.

Back up music but not movies?

I'd like to utilize the backup feature for the music I've purchased from itunes. But I've recently also bought movies and videos, but because I dont have a DVD burner (only a cd burner), I'm stuck. Is there a way to burn the music (only) but not the video/movies.

Using Win Explorer, make a copy of your current ITL file (the itunes library database).
Press *and hold* the shift key while starting itunes and choose to open an existing library. You want the copy you just made.
Delete all the movies out of that, but don't send the files to the recycle bin, obviously.
Now you can run the backup command from iTunes, and just back up your music.
My advice is to also test those backups. I never could get itunes to restore them properly, so I started using an external hard drive for backups, instead of CDs/DVDs.
After you are fininshed, close itunes and use the shift-start to go back to your 'regular' library.

HT204291 Apple TV mirroring works fine for iPad but not for MacAir (with MtnLion). The MacAir can stream music and photos to the Apple TV but no mirroring??

IT will stream photos and music and photostream (screensaver), but no mirroring, not even the icon??

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the Music and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad above the volume switch, or via control centre : swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen and it's the right-most of the 5 icons in the middle of it (if the icon is white then it's 'on', tap it to turn it grey and 'off'). What your iPhone using friends label your phone number in their contacts is irrelevant. I don't know who you pay $9.99 a month to but it's not Apple. You can't disable text messaging on your iPad as it is not capable of SMS.
Do you still have the iPhone? If so, log out of iMessage on the iPhone.
Try this:

Log in if not already logged in.
Click on "Edit Products"
Click on the "X" to the right of the product.
Click "Unregister"
Also, try changing the password on your iTunes account.

Mac OS applications cannot run on iOS (or vice versa). If there is an iOS version of the same app available, use it for your iDevices.

Make sure your own music files are saved in the proper folder (Digital sounds) whether in your memory card or the phone memory, the location should still be:
Sound Clips > Digital Sounds.
If your songs/mp3s are saved anywhere else, it will not show up as a selectable ringing tone.
You can move your songs through File Manager on your phone if they are in the wrong location (Options > Move to folder).

Not working. And it didn't used to be a problem. iTunes can find the songs with Search Library, but doesn't show in any index (by song, artist or album). Finding with Search Library offers to play or add to Up Next, but neither actually does anything. Using File-Add to Library does nothing as well. The only way I can get the new files to play is to find in Finder and Open with iTunes.
I suspect Apple is trying to drive me to buy from iTunes store. Not gonna happen. If they don't fix this, I'll find another player.

Make sure you turn on the Menu and Sidebar if you are using the latest version of iTune.

How can I sync my iPhone and iPad to my computer but not have notifications on my computer?

I want to be able to back up my ihpone and ipad to the cloud but not have any notifications on my computer. The reason being is that it is my husbands computer that I synced it to and now he is getting all of my pop up notification/reminders on his imac. Can this setting be turned off somewhere?
