Ipad 2 can't find AirPrint Printer
iPad 2 iOS 5.1.1
Printer Canon MG8250 is an AirPrint enabled Printer.
Latest Printer Firmware V3.02.
Devices are on the same (one and only) Wireless Network.
Printer has paper and ink.
No errors displayed on printer console.
"No AirPrint Printers Found"
Any suggestions, other than putting the same problem to Canon ?
Thanks. Restarting the iPad did allow the app (Email) to see the printer. Unfortunately it doesn't stay that way.
1. Print an Email
2. Close Email
3. Do something else for a while
4 Open Email and try to print
5. AirPrint can't find printer
6. Restart iPad - now iPad can see the printer
What's happening is that the iPad "loses" the printer after an indeterminate time and I can only get it back by restarting the iPad.
This is exactly the same problem I have with getting, and losing, AirPlay.

View Solution.In order to AirPrint from your iPad/iPhone, here's all you need to do:
1. Make sure the printer and iPad/iPhone are connected to the same local network.
2. Open something you want to print (on the iPad/iPhone).
3. On the iPad/iPhone, tap the "Action" button (arrow curving out of a box).
4. Tap "Print".
If you have any issues the below steps should be able to help you out:
1. Power off the printer.
2. Completely power off the iOS devices (hold the Sleep and Home buttons simultaneously until a message appears asking you to "Slide to power off". Slide across that bar, and it should completely power off).
3. Power the printer back on.
4. Power the iOS devices back on.
5. Try to print again.
Those steps usually resolve the issue. If they do not, try this additional steps:
6. Power cycle your router (usually done by unplugging the router’s power cord, waiting 20 seconds, and plugging it back in).
7. Make sure that the iOS devices and the printer are all connected to the same network, then try to print.

I have answered my own question I turned off both my ipad and printer and then started both again and it still didn't work so I rebooted my internet modem and then everything worked again so maybe it will work for others as well

If your printer is not on that list, you need a third party app in order to print - Print and Share, Print Central, you can use Printopia for the Mac. Search for other apps that will let you print using your current printer. -

Without any details all we can do is guess and offer general suggestions. Have you worked through all the troubleshooting steps in the support article from which you came? Confirmed that your printer supports AirPrint? Checked with the printer manufacturer to see if there is any firmware update available/necessary?

Can someone help me? My iPad stopped discovering my HP AirPrint printer. So I cant print at all with no printer to slect. Both printer and iPad are on same WiFi network and connected.
Thanks so much pjl1213. I was struggling with the same issue and spent hours re-booting my ipad, iphone and the printer. And of course after re-booting the Actiontec Router everything was fine. Best to cover EVERYTHING in the re-boot.

First, try double-clicking your Home button. A row of recent Apps will line up along the bottom of the screen. Scroll across and look for the Print Center icon. If it is there, you should be able to delete any print job that might be hanging it up.
If you can access the internet, then you should have a good connection to a printer that is using the same WiFi. If you do not have your normal connection to the internet, then I suggest you unplug your WiFi router for a few seconds. Then reset the iPad's network at Settings-General-Reset-Reset Network Settings. You will need to reconnect the iPad to WiFi.

I have a HP6500a. I called for help in setting up the "Air Print" facility from HP itself. 1 800 474 6836 They were great. Its complex but they have a special "Air Print" division. Ask the representative who comes on to be transferred there right away. (Unfortunately I have three conflicting computers on the same Air Print system, so I've been there a few times until everything got sorted out). I thought HP told me to install an HP Air print App on my home screen but right now I can't find it . Guess I got too many Apps! (Oh right there is a search function, but I just tried HP or Air Print and came up empty!).
