Ipad 2 crashes frequently after upgrade to iOS 8.02

safari and and mail are the worst offenders to ios 8 it seems, although I haven't tried all my apps, can't really!  I have to restart so frequently that i can't use the iPad for too long. I stopped using Safari and mail and force-quit those apps completely.  I am running google chrome and Gmail and the ipad holds on for quite longer than with safari and mail.
APple, come up with iOS 8.03 or 8.1 asap please. Thank you.

I have an IPad Air 16 GB model. I toyed with the settings and this works for me at the moment. In wi-fi, use the 2.4 ghz band not the 5 ghz. It works better. Turn off Bluetooth If on. Turn off cellular data. Apple may have to issue an entirely new and revamped os. There are too many issues to just put a patch on this. Good luck.

Gaming apps freezes for few seconds , then resumes by itself or crashes sometimes ,after upgrading to iOS 8.3 on iphone 6

Update: my phone's connecting to the WiFi again. I don't know what did the trick. I did nothing since reinstalling the software. It hadn't worked then, it is now. I tried connecting to my dad's phone's hotspot( he uses a Moto G), and it worked. I then tried connecting to the WiFi at a friend's house, and when I came back home, my phone was able to connect to my WiFi! Is it of any significance that my friend's router doesn't require a password? My issue has been resolved( for now; I hope I'm not counting my chickens before they've hatched). For anyone facing a similar issue, I suggest you try everything I did:
    1. Turn your router off for a minimum of 30 seconds, turn it back on and try connecting.
    2. Click on the WiFi network you are connected to, scroll to the bottom, tap "Renew Lease".
    3. Do a soft and hard reset.
    4. Reset network settings.
    5. Back your data up, erase all content from settings menu, restore from backup.
    6. Reinstall your software( put it in recovery mode).
I am not sure which of the above worked for me. Make sure you try everything. If none of the above works, take it to a genius bar or an authorised service provider. Good luck! :)

  • What happened to my ipad weather app after upgrading to ios 7?

What happened to my ipad weather app after upgrading to ios 7?

If you are talking a built-in Weather app then that has never been included in iOS on iPads. If you mean a weather app that you downloaded from the store then which app is it ?

  • Ipad hangs frequently after upgrade to os 4

ipad hangs frequently after upgrade to os 4. any ideas?

For Safari try clearing its cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cache (and Clear History)
For Safari and other apps try closing all 'open'/recently used apps completely and then see if they work ok after you re-open them : from the home screen (i.e. not with any app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of each app to close them, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Following ultimately helped me : Make sure that you are logged in at the App Store App or iTunes App with your apple ID and password with a US account. Turn your iPad off and on and than you should see the Radio button again. It won't work if you are logged on with a foreign account. If you are not logged in at all, it worked, too.

  • IPad 3 slow after upgrading to iOS 8.2 from 7.1

To get ready for the Watch and stay current with iCloud and my devises, I'm moving this weekend to the latest upgrades for my iPhone 5, wife's iPhone 5S, my iPad 3 with 64 gb (celebrating 3 years old on Monday!), my wife's iPad 4 and my MacBook Pro (from 10.8.5 to 10.10.2).
I noticed immediately on my iPad 3 that things were slower - and especially loading eMails in iOS Mail App.  Is my 3 year old processor not fast enough to handle everything in 8.2?  Other Apps seem OK but startup is weird - took 20 minutes and I really don't want to turn it off again as it may not start the next time!  (It wakes from sleep just fine).
Also now hesitating to move my wife's iPad 4 to iOS 8.2 -- but hers is a faster processor so should be OK?
    Thanks for any feedback!
    Best regards,

II have a similar problem.  After installing 8.2 on my iPad3 performance is much worse.  In Safari, some pages seem to take 2 or 3 times as long to load and I have gone from feeling my iPad is quick and responsive to feeling it is sluggish.  Also, I have a lot of raw photos in the photos app that were loaded via the camera connection kit when I was on IOS 7.  It used to be great browsing them - very snappy.  Now each image takes 7 to 10 seconds to render - unusable.  I had an Apple Genius check it out, and he ran diagnostics and found that a process that renders images was crashing, and advised that I do a clean restore via ITunes which I Did.  Web browsing seems a little better, but still slow.  The slow renedering of raw images in Photos is unchanged - still 7 to 10 seconds.  Called Apple support who ran diagnostics again and said all was O.K.   Only suggestion was to restore software again, but this time don't allow restore to restore any data to create a completely virgin installation.  Haven,t done this yet, but not very hopeful.  Very disappointed - should never have upgraded, and of course you can't go back.  Been using Apple stuff for 30 years, and I think the fact that Apple will not let you install a previous version is one of the things I like the least.  If anybody has any ideas, they would be appreciated.  I do plan to try loading a new raw file into Photos to see if loading raw files on IOS 8.2 gives a different result.

  • Ipad 2 bricks after upgrading to iOS 7.0.6

Was notified about update to iPad 2 iOS 7.0.6, did the update and the iPad 2 keeps starting running for a moment or 2 and then goes to the apple logo screen when I try to sync in iTunes it won't sync because it keeps going through this cycle.  It starts to sync then it can't find the iPad.

  • Problems after upgrading to iOS 5.0...

    Hi,
maybe it's been said and maybe it's a matter of the iPad 1, but after upgrading to ios 5.0 all my apps started to reset when used. Is there something I can do to avoid this?  I tried resetting the iPad and nothing....
    Kind Regards

If the apps that are crashing are third party apps - not the Apple installed apps - try downloading another app - any free app will do. That resets something in your iTunes account and it should allow those third party apps to work again.
You said that you reset the iPad - but if you didn't reset this way - try it - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
You can also try quitting all apps and see how the iPad behaves once you start using apps again. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
You could also try restoring the iPad if nothing else works.
A number of us are experiencing issues with this update. Apple announced that an update (iOS 5.01) is coming soon and it has been released in Beta to developers. Hopefully, the general public will be getting it soon and it will help resolve some of these "buggy" things that some of us are experiencing.

  • After upgrade to iOS 8.3 screen reader in iBooks crashes

It happened on my iPhone 4S and iPad Air today After an upgrade.
When in iBooks, screen reader reads the page on the screen, finishes reading the text, turns the page but gives up (crashes?) immediately after. the reader "toolbar" simply disappears.
Before the upgrade it would turn the page and continue reading. Not anymore.
google doesn't seem to know anything about this.
Can anyone else confirm the behaviour? I tried it on several PDFs - the same behaviour.

Your observation is right. I am facing the same issue after upgrading to iOS 8.3. The trial and error was common with Microsoft .. it seems Apple is catching up with MS .
I hope they address this issue quickly.

  • Apps keep crashing after upgrade to ios 7 ipad2

After upgrading to ios 7 most of my apps keep crashing on ipad2 why? Do i need to re-install them? Please help

i am having the same experience (as well as several other problems) since installing iOS7 on my iPad2. The apps briefly appear to open when I tap their icons, but then disappear. double tapping the Home key to bring up the multi-tasking view idicates that the apps are running in the background but, I cannot access them.
This fiasco began because I was unable to login to my One-to-One account after the iOS7 update. I spent 4 hrs on the phone last night, with 4 different people from Apple support, restoring the iPad to factory settings & then restoring the image from my iCloud backup, only to end up with the situation described above. And I still can't login to my One-to-One account, plus I amnow also unable to access the iTunes store. I am sure there are other problems that I have yet to discover.
This has been such a "Windows" experience that I find myself wondering if Apple truly has lost its mojo & mystique. Are their pretty products worth their premium prices? More importantly, are they worth the frustration I experience, & the time that lost from my life, in trying to resolve problems with their"improvements". If asked today, my answer would be a very loud & resounding "NO"!!!!!

Same issue also. Occurring both on my iPad 2 and iPhone 4 after upgrading to ios 5
By the way, Mattban and Sancasslano, are either of you also experiencing any of the following issues:
    * Problems with Contacts either crashing or listing no names
    * Problems with turning iCloud on or off for application under Settings->iCloud... On both mine I just get a pop up saying that iCloud is being turned off but Contacts then just locks up.
    * General problems when trying to synch applications on the iPad or iPhone over iCloud?
I am wondering if all these issues are in someway related to and whether it is worth trying to turn off iCloud somehow, though I cannot work out how this can be done once set up.
