Hello everyone
After I updated my ipad, it become black and only have apple symbol.
How can I fix it now?

Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple logo appears - ignore the red slider.

It's not broken, it just means that the iPad has gone into recovery mode : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808
You will need to connect the iPad, via its cable, to a computer's iTunes (you will need an up-to-date version of iTunes installed on the computer), and you should then be able to reset the iPad and restore/resync the content to it.

It should. It will only respond if there's something on the card for it to respond to, so do you have pics on the card?
And if it's messing up; try giving the iPad a restart. Hold down the sleep and home keys, past when you see hte red power down slider and until you see the silver apple. Let it reboot and try again. That can clear up any glitches on the device itself.

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app
    •    Tap on Wi-Fi
    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

The iphone is designed to be synced to your computer or cloud service regularly. Your contacts will be in whatever program/service you have chosen to sync.
If you have failed to sync your contacts then they are likely gone.
You can try restoring from backup.
You should be transferring any purchases made on the iphone to your computer regularly. Just sync them back. if you have failed to do this, then redownload them:

Can't send email through my aol mail on my iPad 2 after updating to iOS 7

I had to update m iPad because I was no longer able to work a lot of my apps because they kept telling me that there was an update that I had to do in order to even work my apps! I was very reluctant to do it in the first place fearing that I would loose a lot of my pics, videos and or more! Anyway so the other day I sat down and finally did it. After updating my iPad 2 to the new operating system of iOS 7 now I cannot send emails through my aol mail on my iPad. I tried putzing with the settings for smtp and to no avail nothing, I then decided well maybe downloading the aol app would help but still not good enough because it takes up so much room that I had to delete some apps just to get it. I had since deleted the aol app and am still trying to figure out why I keep getting the message I am getting is incorrect] hen it gives me two options which are option 1) Settings and option 2) Cancel. I am in need of assistance here because I can receive mail but cannot send it. Oh and I am able to send mail through my other email addresses on my iPad mail including my me.com and iCloud.com as well as two others but am not able to send through aol. I am loosing my patience with apple very quickly as one why did I have to update the system and why am I forced to update my apps which I feel is completely ridiculous in the first place. Everything was fine until I had to do that and now I cannot keep my iPad on for more then an hour when the battery drains so quickly now because I guess it takes up so much unneeded space! PLEASE HELP ME!

Here is an article I would recommend going through when experiencing issues with mail. The usual fix would be to delete the email account in question and add this account via the preset AOL option. I would also recommend checking with your email provider for security procedures such as two-step verification as this could cause this issue.

Ipad disabled after updating to ios 8

I updated my ipad 2 to ios 8 and it asked for a password, I never had a lock on this device, I guessed the same one I have on my iPhone but that didn't work, now it is completely disabled. I don't have iTunes and never plugged this iPad into a computer.
Everything is pointing now to losing all my data, but I cannot!! there are pictures of my best friend that passed away in January, I cannot lose those! I see lots of people are having this problem PLEASE help me get my pictures. They are very dear to me.

I completely understand how you feel. This has happened to me as well when I updated to IOS 8 when it first came out and now I can't get into my Ipad. The difference is that I actually had a passcode on it and just typed it in just like the million other times I did and it says that the passcode was "wrong." I thought it was just a mistake so I did it again and it said it was "wrong again, please try in 15 minutes." This went on for about a day and when I tried to login again with the passcode it completely locked me out to where it says to "connect to itunes" which I did but the Ipad doesn't show up unless I put it into recovery mode, which doesn't help either because I don't want to restore my Ipad until I back it up first.
I even took it to the apple store to the genius bar and explained my situation and they couldn't even help me, saying that unless you have a backup on your computer there is no way to recover your data on your ipad before restoring it. I thought that was completely ridiculous that it wasn't my fault that the Ipad is disabled after updating to IOS 8 and that there is absolutely NO WAY of recovering your data. I even asked if there was 3rd party software that could backup the ipad before recovering and they couldn't give me that information either.
I have been looking all around the internet for a solution but to no avail. I hope there is some information out there that can help us because there has to be SOME WAY that you can get into your ipad and backup without having to rely just on itunes and icloud.

I have the same problem since updating to IOS 8.3. Any app to which I want to send a new link via IMessage does not allow me to select a contact to send the IMessage to. Using a pre-existing thread does not have same problem.

Ipad dead after update software

On Sunday I did the update as suggested from the ipad. The ipad when stopped updated showed a blue screen, than the battery was down and after leaving the battery to get recovered my ipad seems to be dead, nothing is happening and the screen is black.

HELP - ipad died on update

I have an ipad 4. Never had any problems with ios6, but updated to ios7 months ago and finally got it all ok again.
I had not intended to install this latest update of 7 but somehow it just started installing itself.
Half way through it just died.
It prompted me to restore via itunes. Spent HOURS downloading it to itnues and then it said it could not restore.
Now I'm stuck with a flashing apple and cannot turn it off (even using the button and home key hold to reboot/reset). I NEED the ipad and I'm SO cross about this as, yet again, Apple have screwed us with the update. Ipad was working brilliantly until this update started installing not it is on the flashing apple and I can do nothing at all.

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

For some reason after updating DPS i no longer have the option to view on my connected iPad!?!
I have to sign in to my adobe account in the conten viewer app each time, its really annoying.
Any ideas how to get it working again?

Well, we are in luck, just got an update that content Viewer has been updated and approved in iTunes considering that the R26 release has some time. This fixes the bug.

Cannot restore my IPad 1 after updating to OS 5

After updating my IPad 1 to OS 5, I got an error message saying that there was a problem and the IPad could not be restored. It is now at the setting that says I need to connect to Itunes, like it was when first purchased. When trying to restore, I still get this same error message.

Yes, but still get the message that it cannot do this. Tried changing the cable connecting it to the computer and exiting virus protections as suggested, but still no help.

ATV died after updating

I have a brand new ATV, was setting itt up to my TV and network and iMac, and everything worked fine.
Then I selected update, and it took a looong time but finished in the end after more than 30mins (I have a download speed on my network around 40MB/s).
But after updating the ATV box just died, the LED is completely off.
Yhen I tried reboot with power cycling, and after there came a screen picture wich I interpreted as I need to connecting with the USB cable - and I am not able to do anything with thw remote or anything. I do not have this micro-USB cable - any suggestions anyone?

Sadly, you need to get the micro-usb cable to get the Apple TV to work again. It happened to my Apple TV 3, and I had to run down to Radio Shack to buy one. It was about $13 for the shortest one they had, but it ended up working and restoring the unit once you plug it in to your computer. That's better than going out and purchasing a new Apple TV for $99.
