Ipad 2 dismal wifi reception all of a sudden

all of a sudden, my iPad 2 wifi reception got really lousy. in places where my laptops, phones, iPad One, etc all get great reception as far as distance go, the iPad 2 can't get reception unless I am 10 feet or less from a router/access point. iPad One is five times as powerful in this regard.
Originally the problem was occuring under firmware 4.3.
Updated to iOS5.01; no improvement.
Can't really see an app that would cause the problem, but if anyone has had this happen due to an installed app, please let me know which app.
Or, any other suggestions before heading up to visit the "genius's"?

took the offending ipad2 to the retail store...they restored to factory and then saw what we did: crummy reception, right inside the Apple store. They then gave us a new one to replace the offending bad unit.
at least they are still a leader in customer support. My suspicion is that an antenna died.

Poor Wifi Reception All Of A Sudden

My Samsung Galaxy Nexus has recently started to have very poor wifi reception in places it used to get very good wifi reception. I know for a fact it isn't my modem/router because we have multiple laptops in the house, other phones, and an Xbox connected to the internet and they all receive the same great signal they used to. I have read a lot of other forums about the Jelly Bean update having something to do with it on many other phones. I have had the Jelly Bean update for many months now and this problem has just started occurring, I am fortunate enough to have 4G where i live but i don't like using it all the time. If there is a fix i would like to know it asap! i need wifi on my phone!

Wifi issues all of a sudden in lion. Please help.

Problem: i have 2 macs, 2 pc's, playstation, iphone and ipad on one network for years. No issues. Then one day both mac minis stopped getting wifi internet. Thought it was the router but all other devices still got wifi.
i created new wifi connections, deleted the old ones, made sure dhcp is not set to manual. Fixed permission and still no go. This just stopped working all of a sudden. Changed from N wifi speed to G wifi speed and it seemed to work for a few days. Then it went back out. I bought a new router think that would fix it and the same is happening.
I have gotten several different messages such as "Wi-Fi does not have an IP address and cannot connect to the internet." Another saying I have a set IP address and cannot to Internet.
Any ideas or suggestions?

Sounds similar but still not the same issue I guess because I have the problem regardless what application I'm using, I don't even get the internal Windows sounds when I have the Creative drivers installed.
Feels strange not more people have the same problem if it's caused by a Microsoft update so maybe that's not the case after all...can't understand though what might have caused it if not that?since I haven't done anything to my computer's config lately and this problem with the sound happened from one day to the other...hmm...

Nokia 6280, lose of reception all of a sudden

Hi,
a few months ago My nokia 6280 all of a sudden lost reception even though i live in a full reception area and always have full 4 bars. It lost it for 3 days and i thought it was a network fault, but when i took sim card out and put it in an old fone it worked fine.
tonight, it has done the same thing but this time, it loses reception completely, and then 2 mins later gets full again!, it is really annoying cos i cant make any fone calls or send txts. it just says error in connection
ive tried turning it on and off and takin battery and sim out, but no luck...
any ideas? and anyone experience the same?

Don't worry i had the same problem for a whole week!
Ended up using my trusted Sony Ericsson W850i instead of my 6280.
What i did was i took the battery out for a whole day and it simply worked again. I don't know what the problem was but it may not be similar to yours.

System not seeing my Canon MG5422 Wifi printer all of a sudden.

My iMac installed the OS X 10.2.2 update on 30 Jan and I upgraded my Comcast cable modem on 3 Feb. My Wifi works fine but all of a sudden I can't see my printer. I tried to print something and got a "cannot communicate with the printer error". So I removed the printer from System Preferences and now I can't get it back. When I hit the "+" button to add a printer I get the add screen but there's nowhere to go from there...the system does not see the printer so won't add it automatically, I can search it but can't find it, and I cannot get to an input point to add a name. So I cannot communicate to the printer.
The two things that have changed are the 10.2.2 update (which was supposed to fix some wifi issues) and the new cable modem, but like I said the wifi for internet (web and email) is working fine. Has the Yosemite update caused similar issues with anyone?

Wifi has all of a sudden stopped working Iphone4

The other day i was browsing the net and my wifi all of a sudden stopped working.
I went to turn it back on but it just kept loading.
Sometimes when the wifi does turn on its for 5 seconds and turns off again.
Ive tried "reset network settings" and "reset all settings" turning it off and everything. Forgeting it then trying again.
But it still wont work.

If no change after resetting network settings on the iPhone, try restoring the iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from the backup.
If no change after that, the iPhone has a hardware problem.

My cousin has an iphone and I have an ipad. For months we have been using imessage daily successfully. All of the sudden, now we can't. We keep getting undeliverable when we message each other in our conversation that we have had for months. But, we can both successfully imessage with other people. It is so weird. Any ideas? TS1398 Ipad won't accept WIFI signal all of a sudden - worked fine till tonight

My ipad has worked for over a year on my home wifi network and tonight it will not connect no matter what I do. Wifi is working as my computers are all working fine and the modem is working but for some reason my ipad has decided it won't accept the signal. I have tried all of the troubleshooting suggestions; ie, forget network, shut off and restart, etc. Still just circles and circles trying to connect.The IP address and subnet mask numbers show up but nothing else. And when I try to go online it says Network Required. Please help! This is driving me crazy!

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app

    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

IPad No Wifi at all

Hi there,
suddenly my iPad has stopped showing the Wifi simbol in the up left corner and therefore is not showing any network.
I have checked that the wifi is switched on and that flight mode.
I'm running IOS7 just recently installed on a second generation Ipad.

I have already done all those 3 steps and still the same issue. I even tried to reset it complety to facturoy setting but it won't allow me to do it since it can't check the itunes password without any connectivity.

WiFi stopped all of a sudden on G500s

I was a happy puppy with my G500s, until suddenly it stopped takijng the WiFi connection to my Dlink 600L. The funny thing is that I have exact same setup in the office as well as home, and the Lenovo cannot connect to both the WiFi connections. The laptop connects right as rain with an Ethernet connection to the said 600L

My ipad is so slow all of a sudden. wont load safari or games. Why?

I used my Ipad this morning and an hour later nothing wants to load. its really making me mad what can i do? do i have to reset the whole thing

Ipad asking for login all of a sudden (for any app, even safari)

when i try to use safari, it says "secure website" and has a username and password. this is even for google.
when i try to use my ny times crossword app or evernote, it says "ax.init.itunes.apple.com:80" password will be sent in the clear and then has a space for username/password. it's never asked for this before.
it won't connect with anything having to do with the internet, and nothing with the internet has changed at this location. when i go to the wi-fi in settings, it's using the locked network i've set up.
can anyone help me with this?

Same thing just happened to me. It's the wireless router and not your iPad (my laptop popped up a similar error when I connected to the network).
I restarted the router and everything is back to normal.
So if you're at home, restart your wireless router (like unplug it, wait a minute, and then plug it back in). If you're not at home, either find a new access point or ask who-ever is "in charge" to restart their router.

HT1451 All of a sudden my entire music library (except for songs purchased) disappeared from my windows 8 computer. When I try to re-sync my Iphone or Ipad I get a message that by syncing I will remove all the songs (~1250) from my devices.

How the heck do I get my music back onto my windows 8 computer from my Ipad or Iphone. All of a sudden all my music (except for purchased songs from Apple) disappeared. When I try to sync I get a message that if I continue all the other songs (~1250) will be removed from my devices and I will be left with the ~50 purchased songs. There is no information on the help list on how to re-create the library using Windows 8.

All of a sudden my iPad speaker is distorted does anyone know why?

My iPad's speakers have all of a sudden become distorted. It happen a while back as well but when I received an update it was ok now it has happened again and was wondering is it a hardware issue as this is a replacement I got from the apple store in the Arndale a couple of months ago to replace the one I had.

Note: Data will not be affected but settings will be reset.

Without a little more information as to what you may have already tried it is a little difficult to point you in the right direction. Try rebooting your router - unplug it from the power source and then plug it in again.
