IPad 2 factory reset and backup recover issue.p
I had to perform a factory reset and recover on my iPad 2. iTunes only found a backup file from April of 2014. However I backup my iPad every month. I really need to recover my notes, contacts and pictures Without losing my current updates. I found a more recent backup on an external drive but iTunes overwrote it when I followed the self help instructions. Also there are 4 Apple products being backed up on my PC and I do not know how to tell them apart. Has anyone ever had this issue and know of a valid resolutions? Any assistance would be greatly appreciate.

Hi Since ios 7 when you charge your iPhone or iPad it Automatically backs up To icloud you can do almost everything over your WiFi. So you should have a recent backup. Cheers Brian

I have ipad mini 32gb. I updated to IOS 7.1.2. Since then ipad keeps shutting down and rebooting to the apple logo. It happens so many times I cannot use the ipad. Sounds like a hardware issue to me going by the CRC error you mentioned. I'd make a Genius Bar reservation (you'll need your Apple ID) if you have a nearby Apple Store and get it evaluated. The evaluation is free but repair/replacement could incur other charges.

Ipad 2 unexpectedly reset and all data lost
Hi everyone.
My wife was recently using our iPad 2 when it decided to turn off with over 70% battery remaining. Upon turning back on it had performed a factory reset and acted as though it was a new iPad with no data at all.
While some apps could be retrieved via iTunes all of our photos from the last few years have disappeared. Very few of them are on iCloud and what we had backed up was on our old laptop which died (lesson learned about regular back ups - even if it shouldn't have happened). iOS version now shows as 8.1 (downloading) not that we intended to do the latest update.
This was completely random and happened while browsing the internet.
I have seen programs that claim to be able to retrieve data on first generation iPads but none that can do it on the mk 2. Surely the data must still be in the memory as nothing has been saved to overwrite it?
Is there any hope??iPhone Backup Extractor claims to work with any iPad, not just the first model. I heve never used one of these softwares and what I do not understand is that they claim to be able to extract files from your iTunes or iCloud backups. What is confusing to me is that of you have an iTunes or iCloud backup, what on earth do you need this software for? Why couldn't one simply restore that backup? I must be missing something, because that makes no sense to me at all.

Screen on my iPhone 5 is unresponsive. Factory reset, and everything. No light at all, nothing. I can still use Siri to do everything though. Any suggestions?
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
If basic troubleshooting does not resolve the issue, take the device to Apple for evaluation and possible replacement. -
We accidently set up my icloud email and apple id on my husbands new ihpne 5. Now on my Iphone 5 I can't get rid of it. I have deleted the account - nothing. I have done a complete factory reset and nothing!

Nokia Asha 501 Factory reset and keyboard bug
When you do a factory reset and restore the phone to the last back up point, your app store and xpress browser stops working. I have tried accessing the internet via wifi and not the mobile internet.
You just do the factory reset and download an app or surf internet on xpress browser, it works perfectly fine. However once you do the restore it stops working. You can surf internet using Opera mini, that means wifi internet is working fine on the phone.
Error on app store: 'Downloading Failed'.
Error on xpress browser: 'can't load this page at the moment. Please try again later'.
Keyboard Bug:
when typing in portrait mode, keys on extreme right side (P,L,backspace and enter) are less resposive to touch. Same is the case of the keys on the extreme left side (Q,A,Caps and symbol). I have to keep on touching in order to make it work.
Nokia team, please find a solution to this asap. My phone is not even one month old. This is really diappointing.
Let me know if you need more details.About the backup and restore thing, i don't know why Nokia decides to cut out the good features. The backup and restore system in older S40/Asha phones worked better as users were allowed to select what is backuped. Backing up and restoring pre-installed apps always creates a problem.
I hope Nokia will update the backup application and include the option to select what is backuped. Until then the problem will remain. -
Thanks for responding. Since I upgraded ITUNES to IOS 6, my IPOD Touch no longer works at all. I had numerous apps, music and videos on this touch. It made me restore to factory reset and it still does not work!!! Nothing I do will work on this touch now. I have so much data on this, I don't want to loose or have to restore!

Trying to clear unread emails shown as a badge next to mail icon, have done network reset and now a complete factory reset and checked server. Any other thoughts on clearing these ghost emails?? Also can we get our old keyboard back that shows lower case and upper case?
Understood, the difference with iTunes being that Apple doesn't (currently) require you to enter any account info on the device until you try to purchase something from their store. Initial setup is just a connection to the iTunes software and you're good to go.
While I understand that RIM wishes the account to be defined, they also need to be aware that doing so during the initial setup without proving an option to do it later, while failing to provide any means to change it afterwards (short of a device wipe) doesn't always suit the the situation. Hopefully they'll be reviewing the forums to gather feedback that they can incorporate into future software updates.

Audiobooks are currently a one-time only download from the store, so it won't show for re-downloading.
