IPad 2 forgetting my wifi constantly, how to fix?

Hello apple friends,
I am having a problem with my iPad 2 32gb 3g+wifi, the problem is that everytime I turn off the wifi on the iPad or leave the house it forgets my home network and making me enter the wifi password on the iPad everytime I come back to my home or if the wifi is turned off. Also when I leave it on sleep mode (screen turned off/locked) for long periods of time it loses the network, but what is most annoying it has got worse and now it will not even last 10 minutes when locked. I've been waiting for apple to make a fix on this but it seems like nothing has been done and been ignored. I'm sure it is not a hardware issue as this problem first appeared when i updated to iOS 6, whether or not it may be a hardware issue or not im ceratin that is a software issue as the wifi works perfectly exept for losing the network. I would be grateful if anyone could help me further into this issue, thanks.

There have been some known issues with iOS 6 and exsisting routers such as netgear, might want to check your router for a firmware update. Also some things you can try on the iPad is to reset network settings, Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings, once your iPad reboots attempt to connect again and see if the issues still persist, also i would recommend powering off your modem and router for 30 seconds or so and powering them back on. No content or information will actually be lost during these steps. let me know how it works out for you.

  • The App Store update page has gone blank on my ipad, any clue why or how to fix?

The App Store update page has gone blank on my ipad, any clue why or how to fix? Updated everything and synced. App Sore icon shows there are updates.

Until Apple resolves this problem, when you are in the App Store, if you have updates, try going to your "Purchased" Apps and you can update from there. Apps with updates will show "Update" next to them, just tap on "Update" and the update will be installed.

    5. How to Recover Forgotten iPhone Restrictions Passcode | The iPhone and iPad
If you have forgotten your Restrictions code, then follow the instructions
below but DO NOT restore any previous backup. If you do then you will
simply be restoring the old Restrictions code you have forgotten. This
same warning applies if you need to restore a clean system.
A Complete Guide to Restore or Recover Your iDevice (if You Forget Your Passcode)
If you need to restore your device or ff you cannot remember the passcode, then you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and re-sync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.
Try restoring the iOS device if backing up and erasing all content and settings doesn't resolve the issue. Using iTunes to restore iOS devices is part of standard isolation troubleshooting. Restoring your device will delete all data and content, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, and calendar information, and will restore all settings to their factory condition.
Before restoring your iOS device, Apple recommends that you either sync with iTunes to transfer any purchases you have made, or back up new data (data acquired after your last sync). If you have movie rentals on the device, see iTunes Store movie rental usage rights in the United States before restoring.
Follow these steps to restore your device:
         1. Verify that you are using the latest version of iTunes before attempting to update.
         2. Connect your device to your computer.
         3. Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices.
         4. Select the Summary tab.
         5. Select the Restore option.
         6. When prompted to back up your settings before restoring, select the
Back Up option. If you have just backed up the device, it is not necessary
              to create another.
         7. Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (as long as you've backed up,
you should not have to worry about restoring your iOS device).
         8. When the restore process has completed, the device restarts and displays the Apple
             logo while starting up:
After a restore, the iOS device displays the "Connect to iTunes" screen. For updating
to iOS 5 or later, follow the steps in the iOS Setup Assistant. For earlier versions of
iOS, keep your device connected until the "Connect to iTunes" screen goes away or
              you see "iPhone is activated."
         9. The final step is to restore your device from a previous backup. If you do not have a
backup to restore or have forgotten your restrictions passcode, then restore as New.
If you are restoring to fix a forgotten Restrictions Code or as a New device, then skip Step 9 and restore as New.

  • HT4623 my daughter was trying to do an ios update on her new ipad mini it now says to plug into itunes she does not have a seperate computer for that, the reason for the ipad can anyone tell me how to fix this or how to reset the ipad

tried to do an ios update the ipad mini is now asking to plug into itunes, have now seperate computer to do this can not get any other screen to come up on ipad can the  ipad be reset or how do I fix this

If it's showing the connect to iTunes screen then it sounds like it's gone into recovery mode and will need to be connected to a computer's iTunes in order to be reset. Does neither she nor you have a computer, and if she hasn't has she been backing up to the cloud instead ?
Depending upon what country that you are in, and whether content is still in the store, she might be able to re-download some/all of her downloads via the Purchased tabs in the App Store and iTunes store apps

  • 10.5.6 Breaks WiFi and How To Fix It

    Just FYI out there.
10.5.6 messed up my WiFi for the third time this year and I fix it again by replacing the IO80211Family.kext file in //System/Library/Extensions/ folder with a version from 10.5.2
I don't know what exactly happens, but since I normally sit far away from my WiFi router, my connection gets unusable after the upgrades to 10.5.4, 10.5.5 and now 10.5.6. It works fine if I'm closer to the router but somehow having a weaker signal makes it very unreliable. I have never experienced that behavior with a PC system at the same spot in the house and as I said above, it gets totally fixed by replacing the file above.
APPLE, ISN'T IT TIME TO ADDRESS AND FIX THIS ISSUE. MAYBE YOU NEED TO INCLUDE DETAILED HACKING INSTRUCTIONS TO THE NEXT UPDATE SO PEOPLE CAN FIX THE MESS IT CREATES.

I'm glad this works for you, despite the security holes and changes in operation you introduce into your system by doing this.
There are also a significant number of people who report 10.5.6 fixed their Wi-Fi issues.
*So I appreciate you've had problems, but Apple hasn't "fixed this issue" because as far as they can tell, yours isn't a general case bug.*
Have you opened an AppleCare case for your issue or opened a bug via the Apple Bug Reporter?
By the way, despite what others say, my MacBook Pro was migrated from a PowerPC iBook and I've had no Wi-Fi issues whatsoever, so it's not necessarily a bad move.
This is the exact same thing that's happening to me (and thousands of others) so I'm not sure how much of a "general case bug" it needs to be for Apple to get off their cans and do something about it.
I appreciate you appreciating that we have problems, but if we've tried EVERYTHING, the only thing we can do is wait on Apple to fix the mess THEY'VE made.
By the way, it's taken 20 minutes to post this due to constant connection drops. I can't file a bug report as someone else mentioned because I can't stay connected long enough for the page to load.

  • When Reading Email from Ipad, Hyperlink got cut off, How to fix it?

When I read the email from Outlook, the hyperlink works. when reading from Ipad, portion of the hyperlink in email got cut off. How do we fix it?

Close out of the mail app, then double tap the home button and completely close out of the app.
Then do a reset, no data loss.  Hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.
    Then check your email again.

  • IPad won't turn on, how to fix?

We bought an iPad with Wi-Fi 32GB - Black (3rd generation) in July of 2012.  I do use it some every day, but mostly use my computer.  There are only 2 adults in the house, so it is not abused in anyway.  When it needs charged, we just plug it in over night, which is what we did last night.  It won't turn on this morning.  I have even tried the button you use to power it down.  Nothing.  What could be wrong?

There have been a few people experiencing this (including me) and I have yet to hear of any reason. Just seems to be a random 'my screen won't work'....because when I plugged mine into my computer it showed up in iTunes and would sync, the screen just would not come on.

  • My ipad will not download the music from my iCloud but my iPhone will... Any suggestions on how to fix this?

My iCloud will download songs to my iPhone if I go into my music app there. However when I go into music on my ipad it says there is no music and I can't download from iCloud either onto my ipad. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

I am currently having the same problem with music that is downloaded to my laptop and stored into itunes/itunes match which is not downloading to my ipad.  I had this same problem a few months a go and it was fixed with a update to my ipad but it has happened again with most recent update.  The bad thing is I didn't notice until I went to listen to the music on my ipad and it was available.  Apple is becoming very unattractive to me.  I am in search of a diffrent device.

Yes. Reinstall iTunes. If that is the point at which you stopped trying the support suggestions then it makes sense to me, that you move on to the next suggestion and if reinstalling iTunes is the next suggestion, so be it.
However ....  I too have issues that arise out of the blue with my iPad being recognized in iTunes and what I always do and it eventually works is to quit iTunes, restart my MacBook, and reboot my iPad.
Rebooting the iPad is the last thing that I do and only if I have no success with quitting iTunes and restarting the Mac. It may take a few tries to work, but if you are that dead set against reinstalling iTunes, then give it a try.

    Welcome to AD!
I have a regular post for the top 3 or 4 fixes for that 9808 error. Obviously you are going to skip #1, since you've already tried it. Let me know how you get on with the next 2.
The top 3 fixes to itunes error 9808 seem to be
    1) Go to Start > Control Panel > Internet Options > Advanced, make sure that SSL 3.0 is checked and TLS 1.0 is checked. Also under Security make sure that the “Check for server certificate revocation (requires restart)” is unchecked. Then click ok and fire up iTunes.
    2) The culprit was Norton. The users are set up as Admin and Standard. I have Parental Controls turned on in both Vista as well as Norton. Admin users had no problems connecting to iTunes. Standard users would get the error. I had to go to Norton’s Personal Firewall and add the program “iTunes Helper.exe” and set the option to “Allowed” (”iTunes.exe should already be in the Allowed category.) in order for the standard users to be able to connect.
    3) close iTunes if you have it open right now. Then go to C:/Documents and Settings/username/Local Settings/Application Data/Apple Computer/iTunes. Delete or cut the preferences.xml file which contains your iTunes preferences. Then go to C:/Documents and Settings/username/Application Data/Apple Computer/iTunes and delete or move the preferences.xml file. For Mac users, there is only one file you must delete or move a to a new location and is located at User > Library > Preferences > com.apple.itunes.plist. Restart iTunes and it will recreate those two (or one) files with the default settings. Feel free to set your preferences back to what they were and then connect to the iTunes store and enjoy!
And #4, see if you can get into the iTS from a different windows admin account on the same PC.

I own a 13-inch MacBook Pro and for the past day, my wifi on my laptop says I only have two bars of connection and is running very slow, but all of my other devices such as my iPhone and iPad are connecting perfectly to the wifi. How can I fix this? I have tried to shut my laptop off and let it rest and I have also re-started my wifi router three different times. Someone please help me with this problem so I can begin to use my laptop again as I take it to school and use it for class.
    Thanks so much!

FCP, and all software on OSX, has a few different "preference" files (the extension is .plist), which store all your user settings. Each time you resize a window, change a setting, anything, this file is re-written. Kinda easy to see how they would become corrupt every now and then.
    -Close FCP
-Navigate to User>Library>Preferences and delete com.apple.FinalCutPro.plist
-Navigate to User>Library>Preferences>Final Cut Pro User Data and delete Final Cut Pro 5.0 Prefs
    -Empty your trash
Relaunch FCP and see if that worked.
Download FCP Rescue to make this process easier in the future. When you have FCP running really smooth, open FCP Rescue and create a backup of your preference files. If it starts acting wanky, just run FCP Rescue and Restore your backup preferences. Works really slick, and it's free.
EDIT: Or use the really simple explaination that X posted as I was typing.

My iPad won't recognize my wifi password after 7.0.2 update.  The password IS correct, but I continue to get the message that the password is incorrect.  Any ideas how to fix this?

I have the same problem too on my iPad 3. One thing that sometimes works is if you go to the App Store and put your password in there after a few tries it may work.
