  • IPad 2 Bug?

Hi,Ijust recentky updated my iPad 2 to ios5, has anyone experienced the bugs in the "photos" app on their iPad,(e.g. starting a slideshow using the origami effect doesn't work and 2nd the icon for the most recently taken photo from camera roll doesn't change even when you delete the most recently taken pic?)

Other people have commented on both, and I've also seen both (not that I normally use origami) : http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html

  • IPad keypad bug in iOS 6

I upgraded my iPad to iOS 6 recently and have discovered a keypad bug. Previously, holding the comma key produced an apostrophe - very useful. Holding the period key produced a quote - also very useful. From iOS 6 the keypad reports an apostrophe in it's pop up but the resultant character in the text is a comma. Similarly for the quote and period. Is this a known bug or is it just my iPad that's affected?
    Thanks, Alys

I still get the apostrophe and the quote symbol when I hold down on the comma key (apostrophe) and the period key (quotes symbol) so it is not a "bug" in the iOS.
Reboot your iPad and see if that helps.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • N iPad Mail bug. It won't send, asks me to provide a password in Settings, already there. Draft screen freezes, have to turn iPad off/on, mail still doesn't send.

This seems to be a genuine bug. Here's the behaviour - after composing message, and hitting Send, I get a message asking to provide a password, with two choices, Settings or OK. Going to settings, and resetting the already set password does nothing, hitting OK takes you out of that screen. If you open the unsent message under Drafts, it is frozen, the Cancel and Send buttons are grayed out, and you can't do anything else in Mail unless you turn the iPad off and on. Anyone know what to do here?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • IOS 8.0.2 iPad 2 Bugs

    1. The copy/paste function is not working correctly. You try and adjust the selection by dragging the blue dots and it just slips away and goes completely crazy sometimes.
    2. The lock screen wall paper keeps magnified each time when the iPad 2 is powered on, if the wall paper photo is not from the default ones.
    3. Once the lock screen wall paper is magnified at power up, the multi-task hand gesture stops working as well. you will need to toggle the switch in the setting to get it back to work.
    4. Certain busy webpages get loaded very slowly, compared to the iOS7.1.2.

I have a fourth-generation iPad running iOS 8.0.2.  Ookla Speedtest is connecting to a server 250 miles away, and has a 65ms ping, 42Mbps download, and 13Mbps upload.   On Wi-Fi I get 32Mbps down, and 5 MBps up.

  • TS1286 despite computer authorized : iPad sync bugs

My iMac running OX Lion 10.7.4 is authorized to play iTunes purchases done with my Apple ID. All purchases play fine on the computer, and Apple TV's etc...
When I connect my iPad to sync with my computer, I get an error message : "Some of the items in the iTunes Library.. were not copied on the iPad because you are not authorized for them on this computer".
I have tried deauthorizing/re-authorizing. I have wiped my iPad clean and restarted it from scratch, so far nothing has worked to restore this syncronization. I am even able to download iTunes purchases on my iPad, but given I live in South Africa and pay internet usage, I don't want to download data twice, I want to download on my computer and then sync my iPad with the USB connection.
Has someone encountered that problem and found a fix please ?

Sooooooo who else in the house has an apple id?! Try to authorize the computer with as many apple ids as you can, you can have more then one apple id authorized on one computer. so if your kids girlfriend, boyfriend who ever is in the house hold has an apple id it would be wise to authorize the computer with all of them,

  • IPad software bug fix?

It has been over 5 months since you discovered the software issue that some iPads on data plans think they are on Prepaid and tell users they are out of data. All of your fixes are temporary. You continue to sell iPads knowing they do not work properly, are you going to compensate the people that bought iPads from you and continually have problems?
Since the problem is between the iPad and your network you cannot blame it all on Apple.

This is a peer to peer service please call vzw to register your complaint

  • IPad 3 bug, do you have a bug?

    Hi there
I am wondering is there are other people with the same issue
I bought a brand new iPad 3 64 G WIFI last July and after 30 days it started to go wrong
The screen was flashing on and off
If I am on Internet I can only see part of the screen having black blocks there and there
Same if I am on Internet
When I am on an apps it is all good
    Any one with similar experience?
    Thanks
    Nicolas

    Evidently.
    Try a reset:
first, double click the Home button to expose the app tray. Tap and hold on the app icons until they begin to wiggle, then tap the - sign on ech to close them.
next, Simultaneoisly hold down the Home and On buttons until the iPad shuts down completely. Ignore the off slider if it should appear. Then turn the iPad back on.p
lastly, you could try to clear Safari's cache (could also try this first): open the Settings app, select Safari in the left menu, then tap Clear History and Clear Cookies and Data.

  • Ipad Pinyin Bug- apps crash and abort using certain characters

I seem to have a serious problem using the Chinese Simplified Pinyin on the Ipad 2. Typing certain characters causes whatever app I am typing in to close on me, bringing me home. Because of this, writing emails and notes is nearly impossible. It works on every app, so I can't write my emails in a notepad and then copy it onto Mail. My "blacklist" of common characters that trigger this problem include at least 10 common characters now. This is unacceptable- it is almost impossible to write Chinese on this thing. I have tried everything (restarting, etc.) except a complete restore to manufacturing settings.
Is anyone else having a similar problem? Are there any fixes available?

There is really nothing you can do to fix things beyond a reset of your device.  Report it to Apple and make sure you always tell people what iOS version you are using, since it is a software issue and they need to know what software is involved.

  • My ipads gyroscope turns when i turn my ipad on

my ipads gyro turns when i turn my ipad on

    Hello,
As you may be aware, if you ever encounter problems with your iOS device you can restore it to it's original settings - that has worked for me a few times.
I would recommend that you try to restore you iPad, as this is highly likely to solve the issue that you are having. However, in the case that a system restore does not work, take your iPad, backed-up to your computer into your nearest Apple store and see what they can do.
    Hope this helps.

  • IPad Air bug

When I click on the 'Wallpaper & Brightness' twice, it throws me out to the homescreen.
Is there a fix for this?

    Try a Restore...
1: Connect the device to Your computer and open iTunes.
2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.
Make sure you have the Latest Version of iTunes (v11) Installed on your computer
    iTunes free download from www.itunes.com/download
    Note:
    The Basic Troubleshooting Steps are:
Restart... Reset... Restore from Backup...  Restore as New...
If you try all these steps and you still have issues... Then a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is the Next Step...
Be sure to make an appointment first...

  • Ipad 8.1.2 stability

is anyone else having problems with stability of Safari on their iPads and iPhones since the recent OS update? I am running OS 8.1.2 on iPad and IPhone 5s and it constantly crashes on both platforms. Anyone else experiencing the same issues. Anyone know how to fix it?
    thanks in advance
    Kev Bate

My iPad 2 crashes, wifi drops, icons are lost. it darkens and lightens at will, flutters. Total instability since up grading to 8.0 had I known, I never would have don it. Then I read that 8.1 will fix some of the iPad 2 bugs as a result of the upgrade, Great I say to my self. But no my iPad hangs up and will not load the patches.
so I an not go forward and unlike a PC I can 't go back. Worse is the emails and passwords that I used when I originally got the iPad are long gone and there is no way to retrieve them, just a vicious cycle to no where. thank you apple.
my iPad never leaves the house and is strickly an Internet appliance, so I have resigned to the fact that I will Do a full factory reset, but it won't even allow me to do that, because you guessed it it needs the original passwords and emails to complete. BTW it hung up 4x nd crashed once while typing this.
i think it needs professional help to restore it, I am technically knowledgeable of PC s and would have this corrected in 15 minutes.
any suggestions? Is there anyone who can acknowledge I could take it to the Genius Bar and have them restore with out all my old forgotten passwords and discontinued emails?

  • Captivate course crashes when zooming in on iPad

    Hi,
I am having a weird problem and am wondering if anyone else has exprienced something similar. I've published a course as html5 (Captivate7, includes the patch from November), SCORM 1.2.
The course itself, and it's content, plays just fine on the iPad. However, whenever I zoom in, it crashes Safari. I have the course posted to our LMS.
To test if it's the LMS, I've uploaded the course to scormcloud, and it has played fine. However, I noticed, that user zooming seems to be disabled on scormcloud, so I couldn't actually check if it is simply the zooming in, that causes the issue, or if it is my LMS.
Has anyone else experienced this issue, or has anyone figured out a way to avoid this? I know it's possible to disable zooming into websites using meta tags, but am not sure how to make that happen with a file published from Captivate.
    Thanks

    This worked for me, thanks

Re: iPad Mini Safari scrolling problem
Jan 1, 2013 11:15 AM (in response to amirfromcupertino)
I was dealing with this same issue an my iPad Mini. Here's what I did yesterday and I haven't seen the problem since:
    1) Go to Settings >> Safari
    2) Turn on Private Browsing
    3) Clear Cookies & Data
I cannot guarantee this will always solve the problem, but it has worked for me.
Let me know if that works for anyone else :)
P.S. I'm a developer myself and I would give the software developers a little slack. Programming is more crazy than people think. Most likely they expected the iPad Mini to work exactly like the full-size iPad, but bugs always pop up. It will get fixed :) Chrome is always an alternative if Safari is struggling.
