Hi iPad 2 not registering sim despite one being present and being put in and removed several times and rebooted ....any suggestions happened a week after iCloud update
Had this exact same problem over this past weekend with my iPad 2 after I did an upgrade to iOS 5. I had to erase the entire device, did a full restore from iTunes, and the problem went away. Saw the same symptom again today during a sync to iTunes, but went away again as soon as I unplugged the device from the sync cable. Hoping this is simply an issue with the iOS upgrade vs a hardware issue...

I lost my iPhone but was able to receive all my iMessages on my iPad. But now I am suddenly not able to do that. Any idea what happened?

When I send an iMessage from my phone or macbook, I can see my notes on my iPad, but I don't see the iMessages from the person when they reply. I also can no longer send iMessges from my iPad. I have done everything I have read about deleting all conversations, signing off with the Apple ID, etc.. Still does not work. Any suggestions?
Hello Taylorjessica16,
The following troubleshooting steps can help get your Messages working correctly on all of your devices.
If you aren't receiving iMessages across all iOS devices
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive on each iOS device and make sure that you signed in with your Apple ID. You must use the same Apple ID on each device.
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > You Can Be Reached By iMessage At and make sure that you selected each phone number and email address you want to use with iMessage.
If you linked a phone number to your Apple ID with iMessage and the phone number hasn't appeared, followthese steps.
Sign out of your Apple ID in Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and Settings > FaceTime on all devices.
If you're linking a phone number to an Apple ID, sign in to iMessage on your iPhone first. Then sign in to the rest of your device one by one with iMessage and FaceTime.

Macbook Air and iPad iMessage not working
After getting a new iPhone, iMessage no longer works on my iPad and Macbook Air. Advice on how to fix? Thanks!
See this page about the reccomended networking settings for AirPlay. It is most likely due to your router.
I hope I helped.

IPad iMessage not recognizing my wifi signal
When I try to send a text message on my iPad using wifi, it asks me to sign in. I get a message saying "could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again". I'am able to use the wifi signal through my iPad for other functions.
Sounds like it's not an issue with your Internet connection; most likely something going on with either the account or the server. Is it asking you to sign in with your Apple ID? Are you able to sign into the Manage function at appleid.apple.com ?

I have original iPad, IMessage not working
I'm not able to message with iMessage on iOS 5.1.1 is there something I can do?
I have no camera, can I still message those people with face time?
Thank you in advance for any assistance.Hey 2014Pro,
Thanks for the question. I understand you are experiencing issues sending iMessages. The following article may help to resolve your issue:
iOS: Troubleshooting Messages
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2755
You may also want to reset your network settings:
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Note: this will delete any network related settings (saved Wi-Fi passwords, etc), it will not erase any content from your device.
Thanks,
Matt M. -

Ipad mini not registering storage upgrade
Hi
I need help ....I have an ipad mini and i upgraded storage to 25.0 gb and it says in icloud info 16.2 gb left yet it won't let me update software as it says i need 1.9gb of storage. Please adviseYou didn't need to upgrade iCloud storage. You needed to delete content on the iPad in order to upgrade. iCloud is for backups, not for storage. You need more space on the iPad itself.
Delete some content from the iPad and then try again. Read this for more information.

My iphone and ipad is not registering when i conect it to the computer. It doesnt show up on itunes at all so i cant sync or back them up. I have repaired the itunes, iv switched my phone off and on and its still not working. What should i do?
Any one or a combo may help.
Give your devices a reset. Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds. When you see the silver apple, let go and let it reboot. Then try again.
Try a different USB port
Try a different cable
Is your iTUnes up to date? If not, update it.
If that doesn't work, (if you're on a PC) go into the control panel, add/remove programs and uninstall iTunes, Apple mobile device service, apple application support. THen redownload and reinstall iTunes and give it another try. -
Updated to iTunes 10 and now iPad will not sync on PC Windows XP Pro
I updated to iTunes 10 earlier today and now my iPad does not register at all in iTunes Devices pane when I try to sync it. The iPhone 4 syncs perfectly. Do I just wait for Apple to sort out the problem with iTunes 10 or what do I do please.
THANK YOU.I had the same problem after upgrading to iTunes 10, but I'm running Windows 7. The iPad was being detected by Windows but not by iTunes. My iPod would sync with iTunes OK. Uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes alone did not fix it. I fixed it by performing the following steps:
1. Uninstalled the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver from the Universal Serial Bus controllers section in Windows Device Manager (this will only be displayed if the iPad is connected to the PC). I also selected the option to 'delete the driver software for this device' - this may be different in XP, I cannot remember.
2. Uninstalled iTunes, Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Device Support, Apple Software Update, Bonjour and Quicktime (basically, ANYTHING Apple related) using Windows Add/Remove Programs. Your iTunes library files and media SHOULD be unaffected by uninstalling but I made a backup of mine first JUST IN CASE. They are usually located in your 'My Music\iTunes' folder.
3. Made sure 'C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple' and 'C:\Program Files\iTunes' had been deleted by the uninstall routines. I also deleted the Apple related folders in my local profile. On XP these will be in 'C:\Documents and Settings\<your username>\Local Settings\Application Data' (you may have to enable to option to view hidden files and folders). The folders I deleted were called 'Apple' and 'Apple Computer'. Renaming them will have the same effect if you are nervous about deleting them.
4. Rebooted the PC (why not, eh?).
5. Downloaded the iTunes installation file (iTunesSetup.exe) from the Apple website. Installed it.
6. Launched iTunes, all my music, podcast subscriptions etc were preserved so I did not have to use my backup from Step 2. Connected my iPad. The device driver was installed by Windows, the iPad appeared in iTunes and I was able to sync OK.
I can't say for sure which of the steps above was key to fixing the problem, but hopefully if you do the same it will resolve your problem. Good luck! -
TS3274 My iPad will not show up in My Computer
After updating iTunes last night only to find that Apple Support services would not start, and doing a clean reinstall of iTunes and all its componants, I now have another problem...
My iPad will not register on my computer, or iTunes.
It wants to connect and my computer even gives the connection sound, telling me that a new device as been connected, but then the iPad asks if I trust this computer. (as if I haven't had the iPad connected to this computer for the last three years!) When I press the TRUST button it DISCONNECTS and my computer gives me the disconnection sound!
I checked the device drivers and there is a Apple device USB driver but it doesn't give anymore information other than the notice telling me that "This device is working normally" Hows that for irony?
Please Help!

I am able to imessage from my ipad all phone numbers in contacts but one. With it I get an error message that says "number is not registered with imessage". However, I am able to imessage that number from my iphone. Any suggestion?
Hey joshuafromisr,
If you resintall iTunes, it should fix the issue. The following document will go over how to remove iTunes fully and then reinstall. Depending on what version of Windows you're running you'll either follow the directions here:
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925
or here:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
