IPad 2, iOS 5, Problem in syncing music.

I have an ipad 2, and recently updated it to ios 5. I dont sync music from my itunes library, instead i connect my ipad and directly copy music from folders to ipad icon that appears in itunes. After copying i changed the tags (album, genre etc.) of many songs. some of the changes were updated on the ipad and some were not. why? i did not face this problem earlier, with earlier v of ios. is it that i m doing something wrong? i dont want to sync my music from itunes as there is no music on my itunes.
kindly help.

I have the same problems, some albums are even duplicated. Info edits are not updated on the iPod. I use iTunes to sync, the changes are shown on iTunes but not on my iPod. What's wrong?

  • I own an iPhone 4s come across a problem with syncing music to my phone.

I own an iPhone 4s and I have recently come across a problem with syncing music to my phone. Whenever I try to sync it, nine or ten songs get synced then the sync cancels. It only syncs the first song on each album but not for all of them, some of the albums don't sync at all. I have been dealing with this problem for a while. I have updated iTunes to the newest update and iOS 7 to the newest update.

Well, the fact is, you have a carrier locked iPhone...locked to Verizon, to be specific. The only way that phone will work is if it is first activated on Verizon's network. Once you do that, you can then request that Verizon unlock the sim slot. However, once Verizon unlocks the sim slot, I doubt you'll be able to get the phone to work with any GSM carrier in the US. The unlocking of the sim slot is done for International travel outside of the US.
If you want to use Straight Talk, your best bet is to sell this phone & use the proceeds to purchase an officially unlocked iPhone 4S directly from Apple.
    Good luck.

  • Problems with syncing music files.

Hi there, i have an Iphone 4 running IOS 7.0.4 and have been experiencing problems whilst attempting to sync music files onto my iphone.
The tracks i want are shown perfectly fine in my library and play perfectly well. My iphone is set to sync my whole library to the phone, but when i sync my phone, it says the songs i want are on the phone, but have grey dotted circles next to them. Then when i disconnect the phone from my computer, there is no sign of them. I have been experiencing this problem for about a day now and would really appreciate any help anyone can provide.
    Many thanks,
    Chris Kanikula

    Hi Chris,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
The grey dotted circle means the songs have not synced over to your iPhone.
Is it possible that you don't have enough room on your iPhone for your entire music library?
I would suggest following the instructions below to setup manual syncing, remove the songs that you are having issues with, and resync them.

  • ITunes cannot connect with this iPad Error/iOS 5 problem

It appears that ever since upgrading to iOS 5 and opting to sync my first gen iPad wirelessly, I have been receiving an error message each morning stating "iTunes cannot connect with this iPad..."
The wireless sync capability works fine, I plug my iPad into the wall when I come home, and it starts pushing and pulling all the new apps that I've downloaded in the day.
It appears that iTunes is will regularly try to connect with the iPad while it is charging. At some point during the evenings, either my iPad will be asleep or my iMac will be asleep. I think this is where the connection problem is arising.
Does anyone know how to change iTunes' frequency of wireless sync to a device that it is wirelessly connected to? Ideally, I'd like it to only sync wirelessly once when I plug the iPad into the wall.

  • PROBLEM WITH SYNCING MUSIC TO IPOD...

i just downloaded the new version of itunes and also downloaded some new music going over the capacity of songs i could have, so i deleted bunch of music so it would fit and when i went to sync the ipod it said something about only syncing "kristin's ipod selection", im an idiot and i clicked it and now when i go under playlists in my ipod instead of all my playlists it just has two, "kristin's ipod selection", and "on the go", does ANYONE know how to change it so it goes back to listing all my playlists?? thanks!

If you have reduced the number of songs in iTunes, connect your iPod to your computer and when it appears in the Source list click on it to show the preference tabs in the main pane. Check the option Sync Music - All songs and Playlists then click Apply
If your Library exceeds the capacity of your iPod again you can choose which playlists you want to update. Connect your iPod to your computer and when it appears in the Source list click on it to show the preference tabs in the main pane. Choose the option Sync Music - Selected playlists. When you have ticked the playlists you want to update click "Apply".
Be careful when using selected playlists not to delete "Kristin's iPod Selection" as you can end up unable to sync, just keep it unchecked in your list.

  • After upgrading my iPad to iOS 6 some of the music playlists from iOS 5 no longer work, because they are not available on iOS 6, eg. recently added, recently played. Should I delete them?

Since the upgrade to iOS 6 some of my music playlists from iOS 5 do not work, eg recently added, recently played, probably because they are not available on iOS6. Should I delete them.

I should mention that I have the same issue with my Iphone 4s, now using iOS6.

  • Ibooks, ipad, itunes, ios 8 problem

i, like most people, have their ebooks from various sources, B&N, ibook store, friends, etc....  Here is the problem i am fighting.  I will load a number of books on my iPad some from ibooks, some from B&N etc.  All the books will load on the ipad and are checked in iTunes.  the status bar shows the books are there, if i look at what is on the device the books are  there, all is working well.
If i connect the ipad a couple days later here is what happens....
    itunes has no books checked
on my device shows only the 5 books that i have purchased from ibooks store
all of the books are still on the ipad, but if i want to add another synching will erase all the books currently on the ipad and only sync the one i chose and the ones from the ibooks store.
this problem began with ios 8.  i have been in conversations with apple and have a case opened with the engineering people.  i was hoping 8.1.3 would help it did not.   Has anyone else had this problem?   thanks in advance for the assistance

Same issue here, iBooks on MBP retina shows list checked. At random instances of syncing, my iPad will lose every book, PDFs etc, except those purchased through Apple. I cannot duplicate issue, so I don't know why sometimes sync works fine and next time, entire contents of iBooks vanishes save Apple Store purchases. I also cannot find a way to permanently delete those books and/or pdf's I no longer want from iTunes "books" screen, so when syncing deletes files, trying to recreate what I want is pretty tedious, since I have to go through a list
of every book and pdf ever present on MBPr.
ANyone know now how to prevent the loss of books during sync fromIOS device?

  • Problem when Syncing Music: Album Artwork Mixed Up on Ipod Touch

I have a 64gb iPod touch, 4th generation. I sync my music over usb to the iPod through itunes with my entire library. Over the past year I have been having an issue where the music album artwork will be mixed up or sometimes dissapear/not show. Not all of my music does this, mind you, but only some of it. I have a lot of music so it's hard to say what percentage of it but it seems to be at random. I don't mean random as in it changes everytime but that there doesn't appear to be any rhyme or reason behind which tracks/albums get their artwork mixed up. I have no videos on the ipod either.
So I've tried many things. I've reset my iPod Touch, always made sure the music app didn't appear in the bottom tray after double clicking(when I sync) and even tried setting my library up on my new computer (it used to be on my old one). Also I've gone through my mp3 collection and cleaned and synchronized all of the tags(between albums, ID3v1 & ID3v2) and album artwork with Mp3Tag. Everything is flawless (I have OCD, hah). Also everything appears correct in iTunes and I'm only having the issue on my iPod touch.
Here is a breakdown of what I've noticed but can't explain:
    1.Reset ipod, reinstall iOs,
2.Sync library with iPod touch, everything is fine,
3.Add a few more tracks to the iTunes library,
4.Resync iPod Touch(here I've noticed something weird. Now the ipod resyncs some of tracks that are already on my iPod Touch and when I look at those tracks in the music app the album artwork is mixed up or sometimes gone.
So I don't really know what to do. I've looked through every forum and website looking for a fix and tried everything I can think of or suggested so far. Any help would be appreciated. I should point out that this problem is merely cosmetic and all the tracks play fine. But I bought a $400 iPod Touch and it can't even do the one thing that made it famous properly. I don't know, these electronics are expensive and things like this are helping me to lose faith in Apple. I've already bought an android phone over lack of faith that the iPhone would display my music correctly. I know it seems silly but an organized library is important to how much I can enjoy my device.
Thanks, hope you guys can help!

  • IPAD 1 IOS Update Problem

    Hallo,
i have a Problem with updateing to IOS 4.3.2. The Download starts and approx the half of the Download (296 MB) I get the Error -3259).
I have had checked the firewall, turned off the firewall but still the same result. Tried only Download same result.
When I download the IOS4.3.2 for my Iphone 3GS ist works well and without any Problem. Same PC, same iTunes, Firewall on.
The same Error occours during the Update vom 4.3.1 to 4.3.2. But there I have had downloaded the IOS from an alternative Server and it works.
Is it possible to download only the the IOS over http or ftp ?

What apps that you can download will depend upon whether they are compatible with iOS 5.1.1, or whether the developer has an older compatible version of their app available.
If the apps are free then you could try downloading the current version on your computer's iTunes so that the app is in your purchase history. Then on your iPad go to the Purchased tab in the App Store app and see if you can download an older compatible version of it. That won't work with all apps - it's the developer's decision as to whether they have older versions available : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5919
Or have you already bought/downloaded the app and still have a compatible version on your computer's iTunes that you can sync to your iPad ?

  • IPhone4s updated to IOS.7 unable to sync music with iTunes after updated to 11.1

I just recently updated both my iPhone4s to IOS.7 and iTunes to 11.1, but since then I haven't been able to sync any of my music.
    I tried everything:
    - I restarted my iTunes and iPhone and my PC a couple of times
    - Uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes
    - Syncing with wifi and other options repeatedly *Manually managing music as well
    - thorough check of album or song errors
    - restored iPhone
    - creating a new library playlist
    - and other suggested measures to be taken provided through discussions
At the end it always ends up syncing to the very last step "Waiting for changes to be applied" ; everything is working nothing is frozen or glitched, the syncing arrows that go around also work, but after sometime the arrows stop and then it just doesn't seem to proceed after that step.
Can someone please find a solution for this? Or atleast give me some other methods that might solve my problem. If this is a bug, please do make some update arrangements to fix this error! >.<

    - Downgrading the iPod is not supported by Apple.
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Try restoring your iPod. First from backup and if problem persists restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

  • Problems with syncing music from PC to Ipod touch 4 G

Hi, added new music to iTunes and then I tried to sync it with my iPod (touch 4g) but I didn't succeed. It seemed that Itunes runs properly showing following information: ”starting  synchronization”, “preparing for synchronization”, “establishing programs to synchronize”, “synchronizing” and at end “syncing completed” (ad hoc translation form Polish) but without any result which means no file was transferred, What went wrong? That was my second attempt to sync ipod with PC computer. First one was successful, all files were transferred automatically without any problem. The last thing which I tried to do before second syncing attempt was request for downloading missing covers for albums. Do you have any idea what happened? Thanks for help in advance.

When the instructions say restore from backup the iPod will also be updated.

  • Problem with Syncing Music and Video

I have 2 Iphones. When I try to sync them, I get the following error message "The Iphone "..." cannot be synced. The required disc cannot be found." If I hit sync again, it says either the same thing or sometimes it says "Iphone is not connected".
After about 16 hours of trying to get music/video on the Iphone, I now have about 23 songs.
I am just trying to put 1 movie from Itunes on the Ipod and it won't sync it. It also will not sync all of my purchased music.
Everything syncs fine on my Ipod. I tried setting up a different library for the Iphone and that didn't work either. Same result.

    Welcome to the forums.
As Allan noted, it's important to be using USB 2.0 and it's possible your machine at home doesn't have this. Check it out via the manual or support site to make sure your home machine meets the specifications.
Assuming for a moment it does, then what you can try is to turn off automatic sync (without the iPhone attached, go to the iPhone tab in iTunes and tell it not to look for an iPhone when attached). Then attach the phone and turn off all syncing except for your music. Make sure you sync via a playlist, and select a playlist that has a few hundred songs (or create one). See if that will transfer properly. If so, it may be the syncing of other items that is causing this problem.

  • Ipad with IOS 8.2 cancels sync with iTunes 12.1

I've been reading all of the forums and trying all of the proposals but have had zero luck. When I installed IOS 8 onto my iPad, all of the books in my library became deselected. I figured that this wasn't that big of a deal because I could easily re-sync. This is not the case. Every time I sync, iTunes begins its copying and eventually copies (via the iTunes display) about 600 books before it cancels the sync. When I re-sync, only about 50 books are copied over. Each sync takes about fifteen minutes and although my library is not massive, I'm copying about 300 books/day and am a couple weeks from having a fully functional reading device.
I've had the same exact result when (1) using USB or Wifi, (2) powering off the iPad and restarting iTunes before syncing, (3) using Wifi Off on iTunes, (4) setting Airplane mode on the iPad, and (5) using File->Devices->Transfer Purchase.... All with the same result: 50 books copied over. Help!

Don't do it. I updated my iPod touch 5th Generation to ios 8.0.2 and it will keep dropping wifi, and safari has lots of bugs. I suggest waiting to 8.0.3 where we shall see if the update fixes wifi issues for real.
    Hope this helps

  • IPAD 2 - IOS 7 - problems

    Hi
Machine: Ipad 2 with IOS 7
    Minor Problems:
    a) screen rotation locks, randomly
    b) Mail app identify 9 flagged mails, but the true is that no flagged mails exists
    c) ITunes identify few updates. When try to install .... Itunes inform they were installed !!!!!!!! After few attempts I'm able to install them
    Major problem:
    a) After selecting a WI-FI router the System screen became twice larger. Attempting to shut down the Ipad reduced the App window to the size of an Iphone. After that the screen became unresponsive. Shut down button was unable to off the ipad. Only the HOME+Suht down button pressed for more than 10 sec has reset the ipad.
Connecting the Ipad2 to Itunes was OK, during this problem.
Any one with a similar problem?
