IPad 2 Music Video Quality

I just restored my new IPad 2 from my IPad 1 backup. When I watched a music video that had been transferred there's a noticeable difference in the video quality. The IPad 2 video is not as clear/clean. Like going from watching something in HD to non HD. Is there a setting I should be looking for or could I have done something wrong when I restored from the IPad 1 backup? Thanks for any suggestions/help.

Thanks for the suggestion but no it's not a streaming issue. Same video being played on my new and old IPads and the new IPad has a poorer quality picture. I restored the new IPad and reloaded the video directly from my MacBook Air and the video is still not as clear. I paused the video on both units in the same frame and you can see pixilation on the new IPad. Apparently a hardware issue. I called Apple and they are having me return the unit for repair. I hope the new one has better resolution/video quality.
I see no difference in quality of videos resident on the iPad1 and iPad2...the quality is identical...which leads me to believe you may indeed have a hardware problem.

I have downloaded several itunes music videos, but so far I have been very disappointed. They have all been a poor quality on the computer monitor, ipad and ipod, the audio is too quiet to even hear properly in one!
Yesterday I downloaded PON PON PON by Kyary Pamyu Pamyu and the quality of the video is terrible. It is hazy, unclear and the colour is faded. The sound is not great either.
I was wondering if there was a way for me to improve the quality or if this is just the regular quality of videos from itunes? If so, I would be better to watch it on youtube, it has a far better quality even if it does buffer.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?

I have the same problem, the colour and quality of the Pon Pon Pon video is absolutely horrendous. Did you find a resolution to this problem?

  • IPad & music videos.

I have about a dozen music videos I bought from the iTunes store but I can’t get them into my iPad.
I have tried the help file and it told me to Create iPad version, no help, tried it with QuickTime too.
    What gives?

You need to make sure to have music videos checked in I tunes to sync with iPad.

  • Music Video Quality

Are there any plans to upgrade the Music Video library that Apple offers in the Itunes store?
There are no other places to purchase music videos online except Apple and the quality on offer isn't great considering we have the technology for 720p and above.
I would love to purchase many music videos from Apple but I am waiting for the day when the quality is upgraded.
Will this day be soon? is there any timescale?
I think its worth also saying that many customers feel this way, the reviews on music video items say it all.

You have to remember that many of these music videos were made before the advent of hd and higher quality video. NTSC brodcast video is usually about 335 res which is horrible compared to hd. A lot of the video were made especially older ones for that standard.

  • Is the music-video quality worth $1.99?

This is my time line: I downloaded the iPod commercial (w/ U2 in it). I bought music videos.
I have to confess that the video and sound quality for music videos are way too low for $1.99. I expected the quality JUST AS IN THE AD but it is only a very small fraction of it. The commercial might be misleading. It is good but it does not reflect the reality of the product. Gotta check on that.
I understand that there might be limitations with the iPod. That's acceptable but what if I want to watch these videos in the computer? Shouldn't the software down-sample the videos for the iPod while maintaining a full-quality copy for desktop viewing?
You can legally download most of the music videos at the same size for free from well known sources (that are even related to Apple). Yes, some of the have lower video and sound quality BUT these are neither intended for HD TV viewing?
My two dollars: Make them larger and better and make iTunes install a reduced video for the iPod. Otherwise is only worth like $0.49.

I too am very disappointed by video quality especially for the price. If it had said it was 320x240 on iTunes Music Store I wouldn't even have thought about buying it. They are definitely misleading most people to think it's full quality. I know it needs to be 320x240 for an iPod but I'm down loading it to my computer and would expect at least 640x480 come on!! You should have to compress it for the iPod the same as you would with CD's. That's why I don't buy music from iTunes Music Store because the quality is too low for my standards. Now it's the same reason I won't buy videos either. Well thanks for letting me get that off my chest. Wish I had found these posts prior to buying my first and last item from iTunes, a Jane's Addiction "Ocean Size" music video... : (

  • Ipad music videos wont play

I have an Ipad 2 with latest updates,  but now when I sync, no music videos will play on the Ipad and no music video icon is in the playlist , however the song will play?? Any help please?? PS all works well on the Iphone 4

I also have an Ipad 2 with the latest software.  I reciently purchased the beatles album Let it Be, and Abbey Road.
Both have a documentary track that includes video.  I only get the audion on the Ipad.  But, i have an ITouch 1st. generation with 3.1.3.  The documentary tracks play the video as well as the audio.
I have made sure that the sync for the IPad has Sync all music selected as well as Include music videos, and Include voice memos.
I have seen a lot of issues with the Music app discussed with the latest OS.  They all seem to focus on issues with album art size and music not playing.  I dont seem to have that problem.  Anyone know if this is an additional problem with the new OS?,  or is there some other setting I havent found?
    Thanks for any help.

  • Music Video quality is poor - Apple TV

Does anyone know why the music videos purchased in the iTunes store are not HD or a higher resolution than what they are? I have an Apple TV in my home theater room with a 106 inch screen and the videos look like I am playing a VHS tape. I don't understand how I can watch HD movies and TV shows on my ATV but Music Videos look like crap! I have about 74 music videos too!

    Viper200 wrote:
Newer music videos are all shot in HD.  This is apparent when you go to youtube/vevo and watch the music vids in 720/1080p.
You can of course, use any number of Firefox addons to download the HD music videos off youtube/vevo and then use a pass-thru/remuxer like iVi (available on app store) or Remux to rewrite the headers of the videos to make them idevice/ATV compatible without recompression.
BTW 1080p converted youtube vids look GORGEOUS on the new ATV/ipad3!
    That annoys me so much.
When I didn't have the means, I could still watch music videos in HD for freebs per your description. Now I'm able to buy them (and I want to), but as far as I can see the legit source is rubbish.
Am I missing something or is this one of those ineffable Apple things that I have to come to terms with if I'm going to join the herd?

  • Ipad music video library - how to "play all"?

I  have a stack of music videos on my Ipad2.   Each one has to be started manually.  Is there some way I can do a "play all"?
    Google no help, seemingly,
    Thanks
    Ron

Thanks.  I won't waste any more time.
Odd function for Apple to omit, though.

  • IPad Music/Video Pausing Unexpectedly

Hey, anyone else having an issue wherein, while listening to music or watching video on the iPad it will pause out of nowhere and just sit there, obligating you to hit "play" to restart?
    Thanks.

I have had this happen with YouTube videos -- some seem not to have fully loaded when they start playing, they then continue to load and are eventually playable (but it can take a number of minutes for, say, a 6-minute video to load.)
Some users are reporting more serious system lockups when playing videos (thread is on page 1 of this category).
I don't have information on why this is -- I have inquired within that thread if my problem is normal behavior for the system or part of the problems some iPads are having, i.e., is this the best the system can do, which would be disappointing. The system freezes appear to be hardware-based and some owners have done exchanges for "clean" units at stores which do NOT have the problem.)

  • Poor music video quality, example new Beyoncé album

Has Apple any plans to change the poor SD quality?
It makes no sense for me to purchase such a bad quality.

Has Apple any plans to change the poor SD quality?
    Nothing that has been announced.
It makes no sense for me to purchase such a bad quality.
In that case, do not purchase.

  • How do I get Music Video's to play in iTunes on iPad Mini with Shuffle option on Playlists (it's only playing the music not video's)?

Hi. I have got Music Video's on iPad Mini on a Playlist on iTunes. When I use 'shuffle' option the audio of the track is heard but no video is played (only a 'still' from the video). When using the Video option on the desktop, plays videos but does not allow you to 'playlist' them or shuffle them. I can shuffle Music Video playlist on iPhone and on PC. So why not on iPad Mini. Can someone help? Thanks

There does not appear to ba a facilty for this on the iPad. However there are a number of apps that will allow you to create and play video playlists. Try VP Lite which is free.

There is a few events where I could see this happening...
It's possible if you computer is not authorized with your iTunes Store account it may not have transfered your purchases from the iPad to the computer. To check, Open iTunes> Select the "Store" menu along top of the program and select Authorize this computer. Sign in with your AppleID and password, this will make sure your computer is authorized for the future so you can transfer purchases from your device.

However, if your Movies are missing now you'll need to request to redownload or "regrant" them. Please send an email ticket into iTunes Store via...
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/
Select "Video Purchases" in the grey boxes, then "Lost or Missing Items", then click the link to "Email Us" on the right. Fill out that form and the folks at the iTunes Store should get back to you less than 24 hours.

  • How do i get music videos to play like the music does on my ipad, for example one right after another and shuffle

I need to know how I can get the music videos on my IPad to play like the music does.  What I mean id setting up a playlist, shuffle, and have them play one right after another instead of going back to the main screen.

At the top of the playlist where it shows the playlist title and the number of songs, there are two icons. Click the "play" triangle to add the entire playlist to "Up Next", or the "shuffle" symbol to do the same thing but in random order. But the currently playing track will stop playing, and all the songs in "Up Next" will be removed (replaced by the ones from this playlist).
If you hold down the "option" key while clicking those icons, the currently playing song will continue playing, and the new playlist will be added to "Up Next" (above the songs that were already there).
