IPad 2 non availability

Question

Lets see, first day of sale. 11 March 2011.
*las Vegas Apple store. Only 40 iPads available.
* Stores "say" they dont know when they are getting more iPads.
* No option to pre-order and pick up in store with apponinment.
*on line delay of delivery of 4 to 6 weeks.
What gives ? Either this was poor planning on the part of Apple, a known shortage of iPad 2 (but we wont tell the public this) or a VERY poor marketing strategy.
No one has ipad 2 available for sale. At least in stock where you can just walk in and buy one. Don't get me wrong, I am already a current iPad owner of the first version, but seems as though they severely underestimated the demand they would have.
Come on Apple, get with the program !

Even with all those chinese children, they can only make so many of them so fast and they have the international rollout coming on March 25th (there are more places than just the United States and people in other countries are also interested in buying them). Last time they had to push back sales dates in Europe and other places, I'm sure they did not want a repeat of that situation.
