IPad 2 not connecting to "ruckus" wireless system

I have an iPad 2 64GB 3G that will not connect to the wireless system at work.  It connects at home and other hotspots but not with the ruckus system.
Error message displayed Unable to join the network "Name" I can connect other iPads, Androids and Macs to the same network, this one iPad is driving me crazy.
Things tried
Full system Reset/Network/Content and data
Upgraded to iOS 5
Full system Reset again
New User / Full reset with the new user
I'm thinking it is something with the wireless system here, but the IT people at my work can't explain why other devices are connecting and mine is not.
Any suggestions or apps that may be able to help me out please send my way.

I just got off the phone with the technician who supports the wireless Ruckus system, it turns out the iPad in question was 'Hard Blocked' on the guest network access.  (Because it had joined the network previously but did not Authenticate through the web interface)
The unit was 'unblocked' on the Ruckus controller, I did a restore on the iPad, connected to the wireless network and all is well.

    Hello Mohamed Abdo,
It sounds like you are unable to connect your iPad to the computer because you get this error code when you try. I would use the troubleshooting for these types of errors from the following article:
iOS: Unknown error containing '0xE' when connecting to a Windows PC
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3221
Start with these steps, and there are additional steps in the article if you need them:
    1. Restart your computer.
    2. Install the latest version of iTunes.
    3. Verify that your computer meets the minimum system requirements. iOS devices require the following minimum version of Windows:
    Windows XP Service Pack 3
    Windows Vista
    Windows 7
    Windows 8
    4. Download and install any available software updates from Microsoft.
    5. Connect the device directly to your computer; not to an external USB hub. Find out if your computer has USB 2.0 ports.
    6. Check that the Dock Connector or Lightning Connector on both the device and cable are clean of any lint or other debris. If possible, connect your device using a different Apple 30-pin to USB cable or Apple Lightning Connector to USB cable.
    7. Disconnect other USB peripherals from your computer, with the exception of your keyboard and mouse. After disconnecting these peripherals, restart your computer, connect your device, and open iTunes.
    8. Connect your device to a different USB port on your computer.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Take care,
    Sterling

If You Are Locked Out Or Have Forgotten Your Passcode or Just Need to Restore Your Device
      1. iTunes 10 for Mac- Update and restore software on iPod, iPhone, or iPad
      2. iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
      3. iOS- Understanding passcodes
If you have forgotten your Restrictions code, then follow the instructions
below but DO NOT restore any previous backup. If you do then you will
simply be restoring the old Restrictions code you have forgotten. This
same warning applies if you need to restore a clean system.
A Complete Guide to Restore or Recover Your iDevice (if You Forget Your Passcode)
If you need to restore your device or ff you cannot remember the passcode, then you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and re-sync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.
Try restoring the iOS device if backing up and erasing all content and settings doesn't resolve the issue. Using iTunes to restore iOS devices is part of standard isolation troubleshooting. Restoring your device will delete all data and content, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, and calendar information, and will restore all settings to their factory condition.
Before restoring your iOS device, Apple recommends that you either sync with iTunes to transfer any purchases you have made, or back up new data (data acquired after your last sync). If you have movie rentals on the device, see iTunes Store movie rental usage rights in the United States before restoring.
Follow these steps to restore your device:
         1. Verify that you are using the latest version of iTunes before attempting to update.
         2. Connect your device to your computer.
         3. Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices.
         4. Select the Summary tab.
         5. Select the Restore option.
         6. When prompted to back up your settings before restoring, select the Back Up
option (see in the image below). If you have just backed up the device, it is not
             necessary to create another.
         7. Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (as long as you've backed up,
you should not have to worry about restoring your iOS device).
         8. When the restore process has completed, the device restarts and displays the Apple
             logo while starting up:
After a restore, the iOS device displays the "Connect to iTunes" screen. For updating
to iOS 5 or later, follow the steps in the iOS Setup Assistant. For earlier versions of
iOS, keep your device connected until the "Connect to iTunes" screen goes away or
              you see "iPhone is activated."
         9. The final step is to restore your device from a previous backup. If you do not have a
backup to restore, then restore as New.
If you are restoring to fix a forgotten Restrictions Code or as a New device, then skip Step 9 and restore as New.

Ipad not connecting to itunes, but is recognised thru Win Explorer while connect to computer? Any advice to resolve?

Thanks for response. I have uninstalled itunes and re-downloaded (13/5/2011). I did have the latest version previously.
New itunes loaded. I tried connecting ipad once itunes is open, but still itunes is not recognising IPAD. Ipad is connected to computer - visible still through Win Explorer.
It is noted once IPAD is connected "Autoplay" via Windows 7 opens up. Itunes is not listed as a default to open files.
I have tried all ports on computer, and new cables  - no luck. I welcome some further feedback. The itunes connecting to iPAD about 10 days ago when I last connected.

  • Ipad not connecting to my macbook's wireless sharing network - Why?

I was using my macbook as a wireless router [it is connected to an ethernet cable]
    for my ipad.
.....by turning "internet sharing" on in system prefs, and setting up a network.
This worked fine for a while, but now my ipad will no longer connect, inexplicably.
I had not changed any settings or anything.
I tried many times to connect with the same settings.
I've probably changed some settings now after mucking about with it in frustration....
Can anybody tell me why this might be?
Or perhaps point me in the direction of any relevant articles?
    Thanks.

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at

    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

  • TS1398 My iPad will connect to our wireless but within a few minutes of not accessing it disconnects and I have to go into settings and turn wireless off and on everytime I want to reconnect.  It won't automatically pick up a connection

I cannot stay connected to the wireless.  Everytime I am online it will disconnect if not accessed within a few minutes and I have to go into settings to turn wireless off than on again.  We have a security key that was added when I set up iPad and tried Internet provider help line but weren't able to figure it out.  Tried FaceTime and wouldn't connect even though I was getting a call request, but wouldn't connect and now FaceTime won't verify my apple I'd. • Officejet J6450 will NOT connect to laptop wirelessly - PLEASE HELP...

    Good afternoon,
I just spent almost two hours on the phone with a woman from the HP Tech Support team that I could barely understand (not exaggerating - would be wonderful to bring back customer service to the US - god knows we need some more jobs here!!).  She had me do a number of things, none of which solved my problem - needless to say, it was a very frustrating two hours and now I am very frustrated!
My issue is that my laptop will not recognize the wireless Officejet J6450.  I have Comcast broadband cable internet, a Linksys wireless router, an HP desktop, and a Dell laptop (laptop is from employer - I work from home).  I loaded all of the software on my desktop first (connected via USB) and everything worked perfectly.  I used the Network Setup Wizard on the printer and connected to my Linksys wireless router with no issue whatsoever (full signal strength).  I printed a wireless netwok report - no problems were found - all diagnostic tests were a success.  The ethernet adapter wireless network connection IP address on my laptop is 192.168.1.102 and the IP address of the printer is 192.168.1.103.  So then I proceeded to load the software to my laptop for wireless connection - thinking all along how easy getting everything set up has been.  I then loaded the software to the laptop and I got to the part where it asks what type of connection I want to set up.  I chose wireless and it asked me to temporarily plug the laptop to the printer via USB cable.  I did so and it began searching for my wireless network.  I selected my wireless network and it began searching for my printer.  This is were I hit the brick wall - it could not find my printer.  I tried again - chose my network, tried to find the printer - no such luck.
I then did a Google search and checked these boards regarding alternative solutions.  I tried installing through Windows printers (BTW - laptop is running XP SP2).  Selected Local Printer, unchecked the automatically select box, chose standard TCP/IP, etc. - that didn't work either.
I consider myself fairly PC savvy and I am perplexed by this - just doesn't make any sense why the laptop won't detect the wireless printer.
I would greatly appreciate any guidance regarding my connectivity issue as I do NOT want to call HP Tech Support back.
One other thing, the Tech Support lady told me to reset the printer by turning it off and then having me press the pound button and the number 6 before turning it back on.  Not sure why she had me do this, but it reset the ink cartridges and alignment and now the printer no longer reports how much ink is left.  Any way to fix that?
Lastly, out of curiosity, why does HP recommend not leaving the wireless enabled on the printer when not using it?  Doesn't make any sense to have to turn off wireless everytime after printing and then turn it back on when needing to print again.
Sorry for this long post - hopefully this is enough information for you to help me out.
    Thanks in advance!
    Jeremy

    Hi Jeremy,
First, I have no idea why we are recommending turning off the printer's radio when you are not using it.  The only thing I can image is that if you leave the radio on and in its default configuration (SSID = hpsetup, no security, Ad-Hoc), then you are susceptible to neighbors or war-drivers using your printer.
Next, you have an interesting problem.  You've done everything I would have tried (check connectivity by browsing the printer's internal web page, turn off the firewall, try to manually add the printer).
I know you've disabled the firewall.  I might recommend uninstalling the firewall temporarily, then installing the SW again to see if that works.  Also, you might check to see that you don't have another firewall accidentally enabled (maybe the Windows firewall?).
Finally -- is there anything unusual about your wireless-router configuration?  Have you set any port-forwarding or other advanced settings?  BTW -- what model wireless-router are you running?
And of course there's a rather painful step to try that usually works:  reinstall the OS on your laptop and then install the printer SW (I'm somewhat embarrassed to suggest this but it does seem to work).

  • IPad's connecting to enterprise wireless

I support an enterprise wireless network. I utilize 98 Cisco 1242AG LAP's across my campuses, all controlled by 3 Cisco WLAN controllers governed by Cisco WCS. I manage and make a change in WCS, and it flows out to all access points.
I push out multiple SSID's over the AP's, one being "public" which is VLAN's off and goes out a dedicated ISP connection. Every device I have touched can connect to public, except iPad's. I have touched an iPad once, for about 2 minutes, outside of work, but that's it. I'm getting reports about users who from anywhere on my network, can't get to their webmail or even connect using their iPad. My setup is not blocking anything, I have dense wireless coverage, why can't iPad's connect? I'm supporting A/G but not B or N.
The entire Apple thing is new to me, I've never had to support it, so I'm breaking new ground in personal development.

If you can't get an iPad an iPod with wireless and IOS 5 or above has pretty much the same wifi network mechanics. Again, the iPhones aren't much different in the wi fi area either. Refer to http://support.apple.com/specs/ for the specific technical specs of the device you are using to test. The biggest difference is that the iphone and ipod do not support the "a" spectrum and are b g n only, whereas the iPad is a/b/g/n.  Perhaps the problem has something to do with 802.11a.  Make sure your wifi gear has all the latest firmware.  You could also turn off the the "a"  radio beacon, I don't use it anymore as it created too many problems and g and n are really all you need anymore.

  • Hp photosmart not connecting to the wireless network

    Hi,
I see that there are many questions on this theme that I have read.
i am still confused and have tried many of the solutions as I am unable to connect my printer to a wireless network and therefore not connect it with my mac running the latest os.
I am not the most tech savvy but can folllow instructions easily.

    Hello @Ali1234,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I understand you are trying to connect your HP Photosmart C4780 to your Mac running the Yosemite 10.10 Operating system. I notice you have the PS C4780 connected to a Windows 7 computer, what you would need to do is connect using the USB to Wireless option. Let's put the Mac on hold for a minute and get on the Windows computer, follow the steps below:
The HP software automatically gathers network settings by temporarily connecting a USB cable from the printer to a computer that is connected to the new network. Follow these steps to reconnect the printer to the network.
Click the Windows icon (), click All Programs, click HP, and then click the folder for your HP printer.
Click USB to Wireless, and then follow the on-screen instructions. Do not connect the printer to the computer with the USB cable until prompted. At the end of the process you are prompted to remove the USB cable.
Restart any other computers on the network that use the wireless printer.

Once you have the PS C4780 connected to your wireless network, let's go ahead and work with the Mac. Because you are using the Yosemite 10.10 Operating system you must install the printer using the Apple Updates. Please click on the link below, this document explains how to install the print driver on a Mac for a USB or a network connection. The OS X v10.10 Yosemite driver for your printer is available through Apple Software Update (ASU). Additionally, you can perform basic print jobs using AirPrint without installing a driver.

Be sure to check out the FAQs at the bottom of the document as some of the features may be limited or there are workarounds.
    I hope this helps!
