In the Advanced tab of iTunes' Preferences what is the time and date of the backup you used for the restore? It sounds like you have a backup that does not contain your dat and such. It may be that when you were having trouble updating a backup was made. Looking at the date might provide some information.

  • TS1702 Just bought  iPad Air. All apps from previous iPad transferred over except one game. How can I get the app on this iPad? It does not even show up in purchased apps.

Just bought an iPad Air. All apps from previous iPad transferred over except one. The app does not appear in my purchased apps. How can I move this app over?

Some apps do indeed come off the market.  The vendor stops selling or supporting them for whatever reason.
    That is likely what happened.
See if the app is still in the App Store.  If so, you can download it.  If not, it is gone.

  • Why does my iPad reset itself all the time?

Why does my iPad reset itself all the time?

    Hello!
The same happened to my yesterday night when I was charging my iPhone 5 with iOS 6.1. My first impression was that could it be and auto update (to install iOS 6.1.2) however I'm still on 6.1.
It erased ALL my info and shows the initial configuration wizard......this is totally a mega ***!!!!!!

  • All apps gone after forced restart of iPad

    Hello,
I was just developing a bit with my iPad and after the debugger got hang I had to restart my iPad by holding down the home button and the lock button for some seconds.
After the iPad was booted up again, i noticed that all apps (expect the built in ones) where gone!!!
Unfortionatly my last iTunes backup was a long time ago (I know... i should have done it more often...)
But when I look at iTunes I can see a lot of "Other" space used (more that 10GB) so I think this is probably the space used by my apps...
It would just be really uncool, because I was for example using it a lot for taking notes (Noteshelf) and that would all be gone...
    Any help is appreciated!!!
    Thanks a lot

    This did not help
I tried to backup some of my files with PhoneView and iExplorer but could not find anything... But iTunes shows me that there is a lot of space used for "other stuff"...
Any chance I can restore my files... I really want to have my Noteshelf drawings back!!!

  • Unable to sync? If i restore all apps gone?

When i try to sync i get over capacity problem, and i havent transferred all my apps to itunes, and sometimes i get cannot be synced, so what the **** am i suppose to do, if i restore i lose apps and have to repurchase them seriously? this is this a joke, is this how apple makes their money?, surely their must be a log on the account so i dont have to re purchase

Yeah, this is how Apple makes their money - especially when the app developer gets 70% of their chosen sales price for a paid app, and they house and distribute all free apps at no charge.
All apps on your iPhone should be in your iTunes library for a number of reasons with this being one of them. With Sync Apps selected under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes, after downloading an app with your iPhone the app will be copied to your iTunes library automatically the first time you sync your iPhone with iTunes after doing so. One of the reasons why it is a good idea to sync your iPhone with iTunes on a regular basis and often.
You can re-download a paid app and you won't be charged again for the paid app as long as you use the same iTunes account to re-download the app that was used to purchase the app originally.

  • Update, reset, Backup - all Apps gone

    Hello,
I started the update on my wife's iphone5 connected to the PC with itunes. It stopped after 5 minutes. Iphone wanted the connections to itunes. After lot unsuccessful tries, i decided to set it back its factory settings. Then i restored it from the backup. All apps are gone. Everytime i connect the iphone to the PC, itunes cant recognize the iphone and wants to install as new or restore from saved backup.
I really dont know what to do!

To redownload the apps you need to be using the same Apple ID that you used to purchase the apps.
On the phone you can use the App Store app and find the purchased apps then download them. You will not be charged for downloading the apps again as long as you are using the same Apple ID that you used to purchased them the first time.
On the computer, normally iTunes stores a copy of all the apps you purchased. Start iTunes on your computer, connect your phone, select your phone in iTunes, and select the Apps tab in the row of tabs in the right window.
The apps on your iPhone will be listed under the Apps tab. Select the apps you want on the phone and click Apply or Sync.

  • My iPad drops in all apps regurarly down. What is the problem?

iPad is drop down all the time in all apps. What is the problem?

This helps most of the time:
hold the Power button AND the Home button at the same time, keep holding,
ignore everything on the screen, keep holding until you see the white Apple logo, then let go and let the iPad start fully.

  • IPad flickering between all apps whist trying to use and typing whilst trying to send email, any advice please

iPad is flicking between all apps, going into e,ails and typing whilst I'm trying to use it.... It's like someone is pressing things at the same time as me? Help please

It's basic, but the first step in a situation like this is to shut down all of your apps and reset/restart the device.  Have you tried this?

  • Ipad appstore shows all Apps up-to-date, but I know this is not the case. How to fix?

App store shows all apps are updated, but this is not the case. Yesterday I opened the appstore and saw 7 apps that needed to be updated, however after a refresh it shows that all apps are updated. Unfortunately I didn't update any apps and I found several apps by manual search that will update. In addition imovie can't be updated on ios 5.1.1 but this used to show in updates.
How can I get the appstore to correctly show apps that can be updated.

    Quit the App Store app.
Go to the Home screen and double click the Home button. That will reveal the row of recently used apps at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold on the app in question until it wiggles and displays a minus sign. Tap the minus sign to actually quit the app. Then tap anywhere on the screen above that bottom row to return the screen to normal. Then restart the app and see if it works normally.

  • Downgraded to ios7.1.2 all apps gone.

Downgrades to ios 7.1.2. All my apps are gone, expected that. never backed up to a computer, just to the cloud. Can't find backups in iTunes. Supposed to be there but I can't find it. Thought I could just download all my apps from the App Store like you do if you deleted them, but nothing is there. Am I screwed? Same with my kindle books but I think that's another question. How do I find the cloud back ups and can I tell if they are version 7.1.2.. Help please.

After the firmware installed and you were at the the "Hello" page and you swiped the "slide to setup" (and prompted to choose language, region, wifi network, enable location services), next you should've chosen "restore from iCloud backup" or "restore from iTunes  backup", the "welcome to your  iPad" screen comes up next, choose "restore from this backup" from the file with the date and time that is most recent file you want to restore from, click "continue". That's all there is to it. I'm not sure how you bypassed that step?

  • FURIOUS!! - Automatic iPad Sync Deleted All Apps Without Warning

My iPad, 3rd Generation (6.0), is set to wirelessly sync with iTunes (10.7) in Mountain Lion (10.8.2). Today I opened iTunes and was greeted with the a message advising me that the iPad had new apps that were not yet synced back to iTunes. I was in a rush so I declined to sync the new apps. But as soon as I pressed the button, iTunes proceeded to delete all of my apps from the iPad, including all the data associated with those apps (including PDF files with annotations). I attempted to restore from an iTunes backup, but I got nothing back.
    My objections:
    (1) This is seriously unpredictable and harmful behavior in iTunes.
    (2) My iTunes backup utterly failed or was overwritten after I declined to transfer the apps
    (3) This is not a new problem: See http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=889859
    My feelings:
Now I have to spend hours recreating what I had on the iPad. I'm a patient man, and very computer savvy. But this has me wanting to throw my iPad through the window.

    To JimHdk:
Will do. I checked my support options before posting, but they are fairly limited after 90 days. What I really wanted -- which is apparently too much to expect -- is for someone from Apple to engage me on this without my having to pay for additional support. My product is less than 6 months old, but Apple offers  support only out to 90 days. The support tree ends in two places: (1) with my paying for  telephone support or (2) submit my question to the community. That seems like pretty sparse support for a premium product.
Apologies for winding up here, but this is where I was directed by Apple. My hope was that there would be Apple reps trolling these forums with their ear to the ground. But maybe that's too much to hope for.
    To Julian:
Sorry for shouting. Apple gave me no other place to go with my frustration.
What do I want fellow apple users to do? Be warned, I guess.
I now see the fine print under the notice which states:
"If you do not transfer these purchased items to your iTunes library, they wll be removed from the iPad."
It looks like that's exactly what happened. But that's very odd for two reasons:
    (1) I've had most of those apps for quite a while and they've been transferred back to iTunes in previous syncronizations.
    (2) Why should iTunes force delete apps that I've bought and paid for on my iTunes account, but for reasons of my own have chosen not to sync? It seems extreme. And it's a wide open window for this kind of unintended damage.

  • IPad Stolen - New iPad restored but missing apps...

Yesterday my iPad was stolen. Today I went down and maxed out my credit card for a new one.
When I restored from iTunes I got back all the apps except those I purchased on my iPad prior to the theft, but after my most recent sync.
Is there no way to get those apps back? Isn't there a record somewhere of me purchasing them?
The idea of buying them all over again is too much.
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Casey

Beautiful, thanks. I thought by pushing the price and purchase again it would recharge me, but it only said that I had already purchased it and would I like to download again. PHEW! Thank you.

  • IPHOTO LIBRARY FOUND IN TRASH. RESTORED AND ALL PICTURES GONE

I have iphoto 2011 installed on my imac. I had thousands of pictures installed and my imac is relatively new so I did not do a Time Machine backup or copy my photos. Unfortunately my iphoto library was in the trash and when I start iphoto it says 22 photos have been found in the iPhoto library that were not imported.Would you like to import them now? When I click yes it says: The photos have been placed in the folder /Users/USER/Pictures/iPhoto Library Recovered Photos_453.
I have a white page document on the desktop titled iphoto library (which I recovered from the trash) and when I click on this iphoto opens and starts to import and immediately iphoto stops running.
When I select the Macintosh HD hard drive and go to the USERS then PICTURES folder it shows 461 file items and they al say iphoto library revocered photos but when you click them they are empty.
When I select the iphoto library in the Pictures folder then select MASTERS folder it shows three photos in the entire 2011 folder.
Are my pictures just not being opened correctly by iphoto and they are somewhere else or did I lose them all but three? I have used 124.64 GB and have 875.22GB remaining.
    Please help? IMAC 10.6.8

I am not 100% sure what you mean by the iPhoto window because there are a lot of iPhoto files. Which window (sorry there may be only one). If you tell what steps I can tell you exactly what's there.  In the iPhoto page on the desktop thereaid a file and if I am not mistaken it says it is 4GB in size. I have no idea how my photos disappeared and how to get the iPhoto library back. When I click on the iPhoto library, iPhoto opens and then goes to force quit. All other folders (main) have files that say restored but they are empty when I click on them. I think the photos are still there  because of the size of the file but I do not know how to get iPhoto to see them now. Im sorry I do not know more, I may have to take it to the Apple store to see if they can help because I'm pretty new to the MAC world.

  • IPod mini reset itself, all songs gone

Help! I turned on my mini last night to find the language screen asking what language I wanted...then I found that all my songs and playlists were gone. I'm away from my home computer all summer so is there any way I can get those songs back? I miss them already!

Laura, I wish I had an answer, but I'm posting hoping that someone else will answer too. I encountered the same problem last night. I turned on my mimi last night at the gym and all the songs, playlists, everything, were GONE! I tried to copy the playlist to my mini when I got home, and the Powerbook and iTunes recognized the iPod, and let me copy the playlist over, and I could see the playlist in iTunes through the computer but when I ejected the mini from the computer, nothing was on the mini. I'm at a loss.
    Help!
