Ipad 2 shows 'shadows' from previous open apps

When I close an app after using it for a while, I still can see that it leaves 'shadows' on the screen.
I opened safari and tried to take some pictures from the problem. Here they are:

I don't know if you can see it.. but the white area where you type the websites URLs are still visible even at the homescreen, after I closed the app

I've recently just noticed I've got the same issue, im pretty sure it wasn't there before as I would have noticed it, but this is the first time I've see it. It does seem to fade away after a while. But would like to know what the problem is. Doesn't seem to be any answers or related issues online anywhere either
Anyone else got this problem or know how to fix it?

  • My retina display has shadows from previously opened programs

The retina display on my 13" Macbook Pro is stained from a previous opened program. I frequently work with MO Word and I recently realised it has a shadow on my display. It's a perfect match with the Word's layout, as it has "printed" its image on the screen. It's really light but undoubtedly there. How to reset or restore it?? Please help!!

    Hi Userless,
What you are referring to is image persistence. That is something that can happen depending on use, but will go away over time with general use. Take a look at the article below for some suggestions to prevent that from happening in the future.

My iMac screen keeps showing pixels of previously opened documents and Safari tabs and hour or two after closing them.
Even when I swipe to the dashboard the outlines are still there when I know they should not be.
The shadow of those opened documents are still there hours later after shutting down and restarting my computer.
What is happening and what shall I do? Thanks in advance.

Not much to go on in your product info, but maybe this will help: iMac (27-inch): AMD Radeon 6970M Video Card Replacement Program. If not, then it's time to visit an Apple repair station.

when i try to install app and it prompts for password a apple id shows up from previous owner and i dont know password how do i switch it to my apple id? ive restored the phone and my apple id is registered as mine on phone

You don't. Apps are forever tied to the Apple ID used to originally obtain them & cannot be transferred to another Apple ID. You need to purchase the app using your ID.

  • How to show up all the open Apps in this new iOS 7?

    Mine iPad2.
When i was on the previous iOS 6.. I could press on the home button and it will display all the opened up Apps. I could then close what ever Apps I wish to close.
Since updating to the latest iOS 7 I do not get opened up Apps displayed on pressing the devices home button. How could I get my iPad 2 to show up all the opened Apps? Double tap on the home button does not work in this new iOS 7.
    Any clues
Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • My iPad mini shows 10 updates in the App Store-on the updates icon, but when I click it-the screen is blank. Help!!

My iPad mini shows 10 updates in the App Store-on the updates icon, but when I click it-the screen is blank. Help!!

It's a long running glitch, as the hundreds of threads on this topic demonstrate.
You  can wait it out and wait for Apple to fix the servers or you can go  into your purchased tab and manually download each update (you'll find  the app icons with little update banners on them.
Alternatively,  if you sync with a computer, you can use the iTunes on your computer to  download the updates then sync them onto your device.

  • Safari shows parts of previously visited apps/websites/programs instead of normal background of some websites

Can someone please help me with this problem?
Parts of websites/programs/apps I previously opened show in the background of safari instead of the normal background of the website. It only happens at some of the websites I visit. Is it an error in the website or in safari?
    Thnx!

    Back up all data.
Quit Safari if it’s running. Then select
     ▹ Force Quit…
from the menu bar. A small window will open with a list of running applications. Safari may appear in that list, even though you quit it. If so, select it and press return. Close the window.
    Step 1
If Adobe Flash Player is installed, select
     ▹ System Preferences... ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Delete All. Close the preference pane.
Hold down the option key and select
    Go ▹ Library
from the Finder menu bar. Delete the following items from the Library folder (some may not exist):
    Caches/com.apple.Safari
    Caches/com.apple.WebKit.PluginProcess
    Caches/com.apple.WebProcess
    Caches/Metadata/Safari
    Preferences/com.apple.WebKit.PluginHost.plist
    Preferences/com.apple.WebKit.PluginProcess.plist
    Saved Application State/com.apple.Safari.savedState
Leave the Library folder open. Try Safari again. If it works now, stop here. Close the Library folder. If you still have problems, continue.
    Step 2
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    open $TMPDIR../C
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Quit Safari again. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). I've tested these instructions only with Safari. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting. A folder should open. Delete the following items from the folder, if they exist:
    com.apple.Safari
Anything with a name that begins "com.apple.Web"
Quit Terminal. Close the folder. Launch Safari and test.
    Step 3
If Safari still doesn’t work, quit, go back to the Finder and move the following items from the open Library folder to the Desktop (some may not exist):
    Cookies/Cookies.binarycookies
    Internet Plug-Ins
    Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.Safari.*.plist
    Preferences/com.apple.Safari.Extensions.plist
    Preferences/com.apple.Safari.LSSharedFileList.plist
    Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist
    Preferences/com.apple.WebFoundation.plist
    PubSub/Database
    Safari
    SyncedPreferences/com.apple.Safari.plist
Here, * stands for a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes.
Note 1: You are not moving the Safari application. You’re moving a folder named “Safari.”
Note 2: This step will remove your Safari extensions, if any, and their settings. If you choose to reinstall them, do so one at a time, testing each time to make sure you haven’t restored the problem.
Try again. Your settings and bookmarks will be lost. The default set of bookmarks will be restored. Delete them all.
If Safari is now working normally (apart from the lost settings), look inside the “Safari” folder on the Desktop for a file named “Bookmarks.plist”. Select
    File ▹ Import Bookmarks...
from the Safari menu bar. Import from that file. Recreate the rest of your Safari settings. You can then delete the items you moved to the Desktop.
If the issue is still not resolved, quit Safari again and put all the items you moved to the Desktop back where they were, overwriting the newer ones that may have been created in their place. You don’t need to replace the files you deleted in step 1. Stop here and post again.
If you don’t like the results of step 3, you can undo it completely by quitting Safari and restoring the items you moved or deleted in that step from your backup, overwriting any that were created in their place.

  • When closing an app, focus doesn't return to previously open app

Just as the subject line says. Is there a way to make OS X Leopard revert to the previously open window after closing an app? Perfect example: I open a pdf file from a website, and Preview opens to display the file. I close Preview when done but Firefox is not focused. I then have to click inside the Firefox window to make Firefox active, then I can resume whatever I'm doing in FF. Thanks.

    ericd67,
Typically, focus will return to the previously active application when a second is quit. In the example you have given, however, my assumption would be that: 1) you have downloaded the PDF with Firefox, then 2) you opened the downloaded PDF by double-clicking on it.
This second action on your part would naturally have been done within the Finder. As such, the Finder would be the "previously active" application, and will be the application that becomes active after Preview is quit.
One way around this particular scenario would be to right-click (control-click) the downloaded file, and choose "Open" from the contextual menu. This is possible without actually making the FInder the active application. When the second application (Preview, in this case) is quit, the previous app will be come active, not the Finder.

  • My Tomcat server always shows data from previous run !!

    Hi
I have html form whose method is post and submit data to jsp .The JSP then process the input data , produce some images and place them in appropriate directory and uses <img src=.. > to show them in the browser. But I am always getting the images from previous run . If I refresh , then I get the right images. Its so annoying. Since I am the developer, I know that I am not getting the right image. But other users might think that my program has bugs.Well it might be a bug . Is there anything I can do in my application to prevent this? Pls help/suggest me. I am new to web Application.
    Advance thanks!

I'm not saying to change the image file name... all I'm saying is write the image tag's source URL with a unique query string parameter (such as the current time).
If the image files are different names each time, there's not going to be any caching, so it shouldn't be a problem. If the image files are the same name each time (the image generator overwrites whatever is there already) then this is where the caching becomes a problem for the browser. So you don't need to do anything except what I already said, add ?x=timestamp to the image file name in the image source attribute. This doesn't change the image file name, it will still get the same image. It'll only prevent the browser from going to a cached image when the next time it loads, cuz the URL will be different.
As for Scottie's comments... the reason is so that the browser doesn't have to load the image from the server every time. It's generally expected that most content on the web is not changing, unless the server includes headers with the file that specify when the file expires. For most servers, you have to set up special general rules about setting expiration times (x hours/days/etc.) for it to use based on file type. With JSP, you can manipulate the headers in the JSP page, but this just applies to the page, not the images or other content in the page, which are separate browser requests.

Updated Scrabble on my iPad, now it crashes when I open. How do I fix, without losing games I am playing now?

I have a similar issue.  I have the CS4 Design Premium with all updates on an iMac running 10.6.  All Adobe apps work except for Flash 10.0.2.566.  All apps worked perfectly under 10.5.  Within seconds of loading a file or clicking 'New' Flash terminates generating an Apple crash report (see exerpt below) - not an Adobe crash report.
    Exception Type:  EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGBUS)
    Exception Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE at 0x0000000000000004
Crashed Thread:  0  Dispatch queue: com.apple.main-thread
(BTW, sometimes a normal Quit is interpreted as a crash by the other CS4 apps.  Could this be related?)
