IPad 2 trouble

My iPad2 randomly stopped working. The back light turns on and makes the screen a dark blue color but there is nothing displayed. There is no red slider  or logo when I try to turn it on and off, its just blank. Holding the sleep button and home button at the same time reveals nothing. I connencted to iTunes and restored it with no improvement. I know it still works because it makes the sound when I connect it to the charger and iTunes. What should I do to fix this?

Sounds like a hardware problem...take it to your local Apple store for evaluation.

I have an Ipad 2 that I use to view an IP camera over a Wifi network.  The Ipad is in a vehicle that leaves the Wifi range and then returns to the range.  Upon returning to the range, the Ipad has trouble connecting to the network. (30 seconds)  The Ipad will eventually connect to the network, but by this time the driver is frustrated.  I have moved the antenna to within 20' of where the vehicle comes to a stop.  My Iphone does not have a problem connecting or reconnecting when used side by side with the Ipad.  Both the Ipad and Iphone have Otter box covers.  Has anyone run into this problem or have any suggestions?

30 seconds to reconnect to a WiFi network is not unusual, especially in an environment where other radio signals on similar frequencies are present.  Sorry about that.
You might get better times by letting the WiFi base station pick another channel.  But you might not.

My iPad had trouble staying connected to wireless even though have strong wi fi signal strength.  Could this be an iPad issue or something to do with updates or an adaptor?  Appreciate any feedback.

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router. Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

  • I have a generation 1 IPad, having trouble coming on after charge.

I have  a generation 1 IPad, everytime the kids let it die I have trouble getting it to start back up. I charge it for hours and when I come back to it the low battery image comes up. If I unplug it the needs charged image comes up. This has been going on for the passed  six to ten months. I have been able to keep trying both pluged in and unpluged to get it to come on. I try just the power button, both power and home for 30 sec. plug it in to the computer and do it. everytime I have been able to get it to come on. When it does come on it is fully charged. It runs great for a Gen 1 that is 3 years old. I tell the kids to make sure they are charging it and not lettting it die, but they are kids.  So again today I have a die IPad and everything I try is not working. Any ideas on how I can get this thing to work and maybe not have to go through this again.

  • New iPad having trouble connecting to Internet via Wifi.

I have had all 3 iPads and I got the new one on Friday, however starting today I have had a lot of trouble connecting to the Internet via Wifi. I could not connect at home nor at school where I have had no problems before with my previous iPads, and all my friends are having not having any problems connecting to the Internet with their iPad 2's. Is there something wrong with the new iPads?
    I have a 3rd generations iPad 16GB Wifi only.

Then you may have a defective iPad  If you can show it to an Apple Store Genius, you may get a replacement if the Genius can not fix it.
If there is no Apple Store near you, look for an Apple Authorized Repair Center.  There may be one in your city.  <Apple Authorized Repair Centers>

  • Since I've updated to iOS5, my first-gen iPad has trouble with Safari. It crashes frequently, while I'm on many different sites. Any ideas?  Thanks.

I recently updated my re-manufactured first-gen iPad to iOS 5.0.1, and it's having trouble running safari. It crashes many times while I'm using Safari. . This didn't happen until I updated to iOS 5 and 5.0.1. Anyone else having this problem?
    Thanks!

How about this for irony .... As I was typing my response to you, Safari crashed on me for the 5th time today! Yes the issues has been reported many times on this discussion site.
These are the basic recommended fixes. Start with the reset Safari tip - the last one listed. Good luck!
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by e tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus (-) sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

  • Just got a new router, now iPad having trouble staying connected to wireless

It seems the wireless connection is sjakey on iPad. At home I never had any problems until recently after getting a new wireless router for the house. iPad sees the wireless network, connects, but often disconnects. Signal strength is fine, but it won;t hold. Any suggestions?
At my friends house, it sees his network and connects, but only works with email. Safari doesn't work or any app that requires wireless connection.

Shawn is speculating. None of us know if 2.0.3 will be released in September or indeed ever.
Can I ask what type of encryption you are using? WEP, WPA or WPA? 40bit WEP needs a five ASCII character (or ten hex) password to work properly with all devices and 128bit WEP needs a thirteen ASCII character (or twenty six hex) password. It is much more preferable to use WPA though as you can use a password of any length and WPA can't be hacked nearly so quickly as WEP.
    Hope that helps.

  • Downloaded ios5 to my iPad, had trouble with all my apps but that got fixed.  now the whole thing is so slow it is almost useless.  have rebooted, didn't help

i downloaded ios5 to my ipad.  Initially had problem with apps which was fixed by downloading an upgrade and they all staarted working.  But everything is so slow it is almost useless. i have tried rebooting, it didn't help.

Other users have reported this very same issue after updating their iPads. You are using the original iPad according to your profile and those devices seem to be the more adversely affected devices. You can try the basic things and see if any of this helps.
Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom.
If none of those things help, you can always try restoring your iPad. I have restored mine with some success, but I still have issues that I hope will be resolved soon.
An update to the iOS has been announced and it is in Beta now. Hopefully it will be released to all users soon.

  • IPad connection troubles.

My iPad mini which I have had for a while seems to be having some issues. It won't connect to the app store or iTunes, and when I try to get on the internet(I have tried both Chrome and Safari) I am told that I can't because my connection is insecure. The device isn't jailbroken, so I'm assuming this isn't a virus. I have also tried resetting my network settings which didn't help.

Try resetting your router. Unplug it from the power source for about 30 seconds. Then plug it in again.
Reset your iPad as well by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time until the Apple logo appears on the screen. It takes about 10-15 seconds. Ignore the red slider bar if it appears on the screen.

  • IPad 3 & trouble with safari

All of a sudden when I start typing in a web address in safari, after "www." The 1st letter will get stuck for a while, along with every letter after that. • Ipad charging troubles

I managed to lose my Ipad in my house for over a year and needless to say it didn't get charged the whole time. I have tried charging it and it won't show any signs of life no matter what I do. Is it completely dead?

    Hello there Alehead23,
It sounds like your iPad does not appear to be charging at all. I would use the steps in the following article to see about additional troubleshooting for the issue:
If you can’t charge your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If the battery doesn’t charge, unplug your device and try these steps:
Look at the connector at the bottom of your device and make sure it’s free of debris.
If you're using a USB power adapter, make sure it's plugged in all the way and the power outlet is working. If you're connecting to a computer, make sure it's on and can charge your device. To charge an iPad, you might need to use a USB power adapter and plug into a power outlet.
Try a different USB cable, USB power adapter, or USB port.
If everything seems to be working, reconnect your device and wait for 30 minutes.
If your device still doesn’t charge, try to restart it while it's connected to power. If you can't restart, reset your device.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the best,
    Sterling

You have to update on a computer that is running the latest version of iTunes. When you connect the iPad to your computer and launch iTunes, iTunes should automatically prompt you to update the device. If not, you can click on the iPad name under the devices heading in order to select it - and then click on the Check for Update button in the Summary Tab of iTunes.
However, this is what I recommend, any time that you want to update your iOS device.
What you should do anytime that you update the device is to transfer purchases from the iPad into iTunes - File>Transfer Purchases - and you should backup the iPad as well. When you update the device, if something goes wrong, you can restore from the backup.
However, iTunes should ask if you want to backup before you update, but just in case create the backup yourself before you update. The backup contains your app data and settings - along with other items - so make sure you backup first.
If you have any other important files, you may want to transfer them to your computer as well, prior to the update.
    Transfer purchases.
