IPad 2 upgrade to 8...now I have a useless pad

I Am asking Apple....when are you going to provide a fix for us iPad 2 users who have (without any warning issues from apple) upgraded to 8, and are now left with a pad which is basically.....useless. I have rebuilt from scratch etc etc. all the recommendations. Changed settings. All rh ideas people have posted which may help. I am left feeling disgusted. I HAD a perfectly good pad on 7. Apple give us iPad 2 users a fix please. the fix is a new pad, but that's not an acceptable solution.

If it has NEVER been jailbroke, here are some standard repair procedures:
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again. Also, read this.

If you've turned VoiceOver on then see if triple-clicking the home button turns it off, and then change what Settings > General > Accessibility > Triple-Click Home is set to.
Otherwise, via 'the touch to select double-tap to activate' process you need to go into Settings > General > Accessibility > VoiceOver and turn it off

Turn VoiceOver on or off in iTunes: Select iPad in the iTunes sidebar. In the Options section of the Summary pane, click Configure Universal Access. Select VoiceOver, then click OK.
So select Configure Universal Access at the bottom of the Summary tab and set Seeing to Neither

I tried to upgrade my IPad with IOS 6 and now I have an Apple icon with a blank downloading bar.

I used to sync my ipad on an asus laptop, now I have a Mac mini and want to sync with it. Can I? Can things be transferred from laptop to Mac mini?

I synced my ipad2 with an asus laptop. Now I have a Mac mini that I want to use for syncing and backup. But when I connected my ipad to the Mac mini it said something about the ipad being already synced to another computer and backup is permitted only one computer at a time. How can I transfer my backup to the Mac mini ? And delete my previous (I.e. asus laptop) iTunes backup system?

You don't have to delete anything from the Asus. You can copy your iTunes library from the laptop to the Mac. Read this for more information.

Upgraded to CS3 - Now I have LOST all My Previous Sequences

Upgraded from Premier CS2 to CS3 on PC
Previous edit job on CS2 had 10 sequences and hundreds of edits...but when I open job now in Cs3 after upgrading...I only have the Clip Bin and No Sequences and No edits on the timeline...
Hope its something simple...there are hundreds of edit points in those timeline sequences.
Am I missing something on how to have CS2 projects come over to CS3 accurately?

OOps... I wonder if anyone knows if I can also load in Premier CS2 after I have installed the Master Suite?
There are NO sequences even listed in my project bin...only the original clips...there were about 10 sequences.
Hope I dont have to unload 2 hours worth of install just to be able to reload in CS2.

We have a IPad setup with my ID, now we have I phones what if I use the same IDs? Or can I create a new one and use both on the iPad?

Ipad 1 upgrade to ios5 now video app won't open at all

I upgraded to ios5. Took forever but loaded up. I went to open up video app which had an itunes bought TV series on it. The white whirring wheel comes up then the screen goes completely blank. When I sync my videos - some itunes bought, some of my own projects - appear to sync but you can't even open the app on the ipad.
The programmes are still in itunes so I've tried restoring, restarting, resynching. Absolutely nothing works.
Does anyone know what's going on? This is very frustrating as I mainly use the ipad to demonstrate video work.

For starters, try quitting the videos App and then restart.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
If the videos are all in your iTunes library on your computer you could also try removing them all from the iPad and sync them back one at at time and see if you can find the one that is causing the problem. However - this is based on the assumption that one of the videos is causing the problem.
There may have been an error when the TV series was downloaded and that might be causing a problem as well. If you are in the U.S., I suppose that you could delete the series and download it again in the purchased tab of iTunes - if you wanted to try that.
I would try deleting them from the iPad and add them back one at a time first.

I bought Photoshop 7, upgraded to CS2 then upgraded to CS3. I live in the country and have limited bandwidth for my internet, therefore, the cloud will not work and I must have a box version. In Jan Best Buy did work on my laptop and did not de-install CS3, now my desktop has died and believe CS3 on it is also gone. I have the serial numbers and can not find how to contact Adobe.
I only use it for photography and do not want CS6, so I need help, can anyone help me. Thanks a million.

You don't even need to "contact Adobe", unless you need to activate that old deleted version. You are entitled to two activations.
Just download the CS3 trial version and input your serial numbers (the installer might prompt you for the previous serial number since your CS3 probably has an update s/n).

Anytime you want to look for something on the Adobe site, just do a Google search and add "site:adobe.com" (without the quotes) at the end of the string of keywords, for instance, this what to type in Google to find the CS3 downloads:

Using the Adobe web site search function is futile.

Upgraded to yosemite, now I have to upgrade Iphoto

How do I go about upgrading to the new iPhoto without encountering the problems described by others with the photo library? Is it too late to do a full system back up? I made a mistake by not backing up prior to the Yosemite upgrade. The back up I do have is quite stale.

Make a back up of your iPhoto Library, then upgrade:
Most Simple Back Up:
Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
Slightly more complex: Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically.
Example of such apps: Chronosync - but there are many others. Search on MacUpdate or the App Store
Remember most people upgrade with no problems.

Just installed the X-FI I/O Drive Upgrade...NOW I have proble

I have been using my X-Fi just fine for the last 3 months. No problems whatsoever. However, I got really tired of having to get to the back of my computer and switch cords between my speaker system and my mic. Thanks to the "Flexi Jack", you can only use one at a time. I use a mic and headphones in games, but use my 5. speakers to listen to music, etc.
So I got the I/O dri've installed. I can now have everything hooked in at once, and also have volume controls on the front of the PC as well as the handy remote. It's very convenient.
Unfortunately, now my sound has started cutting out. I'm using the SPDIF OUT on the I/O Dri've. I don't think this can be software related, it has to be hardware. All my drivers are up to date, MOBO Bios, everything is fresh.
It's really strange. At times the sound will go continuous for 20 minutes with no interruptions. Then at other times it will cut out every 0 seconds. Very annoying. There is no hissing or static, it just cuts out for about second. Silence.
I've read through these forums and can't find anything relating to problems starting because of the I/O Dri've. What gives? Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks for the reply. My power supply is the SLI-certified Fortron 600. It's only 3 months old. It's been rock solid so far.
I have my PC and speakers plugged into a surge protector, but it's a few years old. I think I'm gonna go buy a new surge protector/conditioner, and see what that does.
If this doesn't work, I'll unplug the I/O dri've and see if my sound returns back to the way it was, with no anomalies.

If the iPad has Activation Lock - that is, it's asking for the previous owner's Apple ID and password to activate the device - then you will need that information, or you'll need to get the previous owner to remove the device from his/her iCloud account:

If the previous owner is unable or unwilling to cooperate - and the claim that they "forgot the password" is very fishy given the multiple options available for resetting the password to an Apple ID - then the device is unusable by you. Return the iPad for a refund if you can.

She is making in app purchases. Probably not knowing what that means to your monthly credit card bill. Use the Settings app to enable restrictions and turn on restrictions for iTunes, App Store and in app purchases, mabe some others too. The restrictions will be set with a passcode to prevent your daughter from changing them.

Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. Maybe this will let the iPad reboot and then you may need to restore again but see if this helps to start the iPad first.

TS3274 Upgraded...now my ipad states no service in upper left corner...also, I have no email set up. I have tried in vain to set it up

I finally installed iTunes and upgraded my iPad 4. Now I have no email account and in the upper left corner there is a "no service" posted. Hmmm...I have tried for a couple of days to fix this. Not sure what the problem is.
