Ipad 2-Wifi cannot be restored or turned on, error 1600

About a week and a half ago, I was using my iPad 2 as normal. Later that day I went to use it and the screen would not come on. My device is about 2 months out of warranty. Apple doesn't seem to care about repairing it so I figured I'd turn to you guys. I took it to the store and attempted to get phone support. The apple "genius" just told me since it was out of warranty, I had no choice but to replace it for $250. The phone tech basically gave me the same run around. I know this thing is fixable. I have spent probably 10-15 hours researching the internet for answers.
So when I plug the device into the computer, iTunes detects it as being an iPad 2 and that it is in recovery mode. I have tried this on multiple computers both windows and mac. Previously the device was running 6.1.2, but since Apple feels they no longer need that, I have downloaded 6.1.3. I attempt to restore it, but it just gives me error 1600. Like I said, I've tried multiple computers, along with several different sets of cables, and usb ports. Please help!

Follow the steps listed below for Error 1604. This error may also be resolved by disabling, deactivating, or uninstalling third-party security, antivirus, and firewall software. See steps in this article for  details on troubleshooting security software.
Error 1604
This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for the error.
When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.

when I'm trying to restore my iPhone 3g, it says "The iPhone cannot be restored. An unknown error occurred (10150)"

If the Error is really 1015, it is most likely due to your iPhone having the iPad baseband. If this is the case, you will have to search the Web for tools to use Custom Firmware. These cannot be discussed on Apple Supported Forums.

  • IPad 1 could not be restored.  An unknown error occurred (-1).

I have an iPad 1 with wireless, although wireless is turned off at the moment.  It hung, and I was able to get it into recovery mode.  However, I have been unable to restore it, and I've tried using both a PC and a Mac.  On both, I get the following message in a dialog box:
The iPad "iPad" could not be restored.  An unknown error occurred (-1).
Any ideas what I can do to restore it?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

The iOS error codes are: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694 which indicates you should check your computer security software settings, and if that does not work, contact Apple Support for help.

  • I keep getting an error message when I try to sync my ipad or iphone to my iMac:  "The iPad (or iPhone) cannot be synced.  An unknown error occurred (-50)."  What is this about?  Thanks

I keep getting an error message when I try to sync my iPad or iPhone to my iMac, as follows:  The iPad "_________" cannot be synced.  An unknonw error occurred (-50).  Does anyone know what this is about - thanks.

Error -50 is a very unhelpful generic communications error with a number of possible causes.  Something between the drive to which you are downloading and the drive from which it is all coming is not working correctly, which probably leaves several hundred options.

  • Is there a trick to fixing an iPad Air (Wifi version) that won't turn on?

I am out of the country for work and while I was in Singapore, I was in the middle of using my iPad (Facebook browsing) while it was plugged in and it shut off unexpectedly (it was at roughly 93% battery as I was getting ready to catch my next flight). The screen didn't just go black, the ipad shut off completely. That was more than a week ago and it won't turn back on. I have tried pushing and holding the power button and also pushing and holding the power and home buttons together for at least 2-3 minutes. I also had a friend plug it into his laptop (he has iTunes installed) and it didn't even recognize that the iPad was plugged in. And finally I had it plugged in overnight to see if that would help and I tried all of the above again just to make sure.
I am now in the middle of the Indian Ocean without access to any Apple service locations and was wondering if there are any secret tricks that may help to get it working again. I've tried everything I can think of. The only thing that had changed was that I had installed Adobe Photoshop about 10 minutes prior (the $9.99 version). Of course the only other computing device I have is my iPhone. I fully expected to use my iPad exclusively on this trip but that obviously failed.
Are there any secret tips or tricks that I missed that may kick this thing back into gear? Of course my warranty expired about 2 months ago. I really want to get this iPad to function again before I begin my journey back home (30 hours of flying time and about 2 full days of traveling...). I have another 2 weeks without anything but my iPhone and slow internet before I leave to amuse myself since all of my books and movies were on that thing. God, the trip home will really suck without books, movies or music.
    Please help!! Please.

There is no light when charging the iPad Air.
If you think it has been well charged, try holding the home and on/off buttons down together for 10 or 15 seconds.  Hopefully you will see the Apple logo.
By the way, you should be using the original supplied Apple charger and cable that came with the iPad.  It should be plugged into a wall outlet.

  • IPad and iTunes cannot check for iOS updates. And iTunes cannot restore the iPad to 6.1.2.

    Hi.
I have iPad 4G 32GB A1460. NO JAILBREAK EVER. Recently I installed iOS 7 Beta 3 on it. And now when I go to Settings -> General -> Software Update I get the error message "Unable to Check for Update. An error occurred while checking for a software update." And that's all. No useful information actually.
I have tried to reboot the device but no luck. I have also tried to connect it to a PC and check for updates from iTunes. iTunes shows me a little different error message: "iTunes could not check for an update to the carrier settings for your iPad. An unknown error occurred (1651). Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, or try again later." I checked the connection just in case and was convinced that the Internet connection is active. Does anyone know what's happening? I really don't like this.
OK, maybe the next iOS version isn't out yet. But what will happen if it is? Will I be forced to use 7.0 Beta 3 forever? I don't want to))
Another thing that I've tried to do is to restore my iPad to iOS 6.1.2. But the iTunes shows another error: "The iPad "<iPad name>" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (3194)." I tried this on Windows and Mac. On Mac I have a different message: "This device isn't eligible for the requested build" which seems to be the same thing as 3194-error on Windows.
Can anyone help me? Is there a reasonable explanation of this? Is this related to Apple's developers web site unavailability (http://devimages.apple.com/maintenance/)?
    Thanks in advance!
