Ipad 2 wifi internet disconnect
Has Apple issued an Ipad 2 wifi disconnect solution yet?
non of my ios devices ever had that issue so it's rather like that that your post should be

My iPad mini has problem staying connect to my wifi after I connect. It seems like after a long period of non usage I have to connect o my wifi again where as my iPhone stays connected
Try #5.
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

My iPad WiFi Almost Every Day Keeps Disconnecting, especially if I am watching a video online. How do I fix this?
Howdy Danny_98,
Here is a great article to help troubleshoot wifi connectivity with your iOS device. Named iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections it can be found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1398.
Be sure that you are in range of your Wi-Fi router (access point).
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi off and then on again. If unable to do so, see this article.
Confirm that your Wi-Fi router and Cable or DSL modem are connected to power, turned on, and indicate that they are connected to the Internet. If not, refer to your network administrator or ISP for assistance.
Restart your iOS device.
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and locate the Wi-Fi network to which you are connected. Then tap > and Forget this Network. Try to connect to your desired Wi-Fi network again.
Note: You will need to enter your Wi-Fi password again if your desired network requires one.
Turn your Wi-Fi router off and then on again2. If your ISP also provides cable or phone service, check with them before attempting this step to avoid interruption of service.
Update your device to the latest version of software.
Update your Wi-Fi router to the latest firmware2.For AirPort Base Stations, see this article for information about firmware updates.
Those are the basic troubleshooting steps and there is another section toward the bottom named Wi-Fi disconnects, or signal strength is less than expected that is very relevant as well.

i bought my 4g iPod touch just 3 months ago fromt the US. Internet speed was just fine and working consistently while i was using a d-link router.
my Wi-Fi network is password protected and since has not affected the speeds on my pc or my iPad (wifi only). However, just 4 weeks ago, i bought a new router, an Aztec one. That has not improved or worsened the speeds on my pc or iPad, but worsens only my iPod touch, even though it says its connected and has a full signal strength.
Here are the symptoms:-
1. iMessage is now really slow as after i click send, the loading bar at the top lags.
2. i can't go on to google or any site or app that involves internet connection e.g. Facebook, Twitter
3. I can't purchase or get apps from the App store as the searching takes way too long.
4. Now as i pull down the notifications bar, it shows temperature but no stock; i can't even access the Stocks app
5. I can see the temperature for the day on the notifications, but i cant see the details for the rest of the week like i was able to
6. I now cant read any updated emails on Mail as it takes way too long
I live in a country called Brunei, and speeds are the worst there, yet they shouldn't be this slow especialy when my friends and other devices are working.
So, what's wrong? Is it my new router?Have you tried a simple reset of your iPod to see if that helps? To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
Otherwise, have you tried any of the troubleshooting mentioned in this Apple support document?

I have an iPad mini - trying to set up a wifi internet connection on Windows 7 laptop.
Have a new iPad and need to still set it up. Problem is that it needs to connect to a wifi internet connection which I have set up on my Win7 laptop. The iPad mini sees the network but can't connect to it......... What am I doint wrong? I have set the network up via the adhoc network set up and have done everything as per the turorials I have seen, but it still won't to connect. Is this possible and if so, how do I do it? I have tried the ad-hoc network way and the iPad recognises it but can't connect to it. THANKS A MIL
Windows 7 Home Basic does not support ad hoc or hosted network functionality (what Connectify and Virtual Router use). At a minimum you would need to upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium. Note the Applies to these editions of Windows 7 statement at the right in this article.

Again using a broadband wireless (WiFi) router is the best way to go presuming its in your budget. -
I've been using messaging on my iPad as I travel internationally to chat with my family who have Apple products back in the U.S. but here in France, although I have strong wifi service, my messages won't send. The sending bar across the top stops abut 9/10 of the way across then eventually says "Not delivered!" in red. I also do not receive messages. I visited the Apple store in Paris and messaging worked just fine on their wifi. The wifi internet connection where i am staying is strong and messaging appears to be the only feature not working. What is going on and does anyone know how I can fix it? Thx.
Are you sending wifi or 3 g? I would not be surprised if the local 3 g network was blocking or somehow non compatible. I would be surprised if this was happening on a wifi network.

After internet disconnection, due to bad weather, safari can't find the server anymore and i have to restore the ipad to the factory settings and loose the apps. This has happened at least 5 times in 9 months. Solutions?
What Apple wants from his customers?
1) I've paid my iPhone 4S 900 euros;
2) I'm used to buy music and apps from iTunes store;
3) my iCloud space costs 32 euros per year
and, like me, millions of customers around the world!
and Apple does not allow me (and many others) to use the internet traffic for which I (we) pay my (our) provider, that's not among those that directly sell iPhone??? Is this your idea of a really unblocked device as you falsely declsre from the pages of Apple online store ?!? Shame on you!
If I had know that the 7.1 led to this I'd never updated my iPhone. No one (Apple and the sites that live because of her) told about this issue in their enthusiastic comments on the new, updated version, of iOS. Shame on you!
This would claim a class action against such a behaviour!
I'm disgusted
thank you

Hi, I need help with this problem that just arose after updating my devices (iphone 5 and ipad air) to ios8.
Every now and then the internet disconnects, and in Airport Utility the Internet is shown disconnected (orange bar), while it is perfectly fine both on the motorola modem and AirPort TC.
My MacBoook and Android devices can connect smoothly to the internet and the only devices affected by this problem are my iPhone and iPad. All the iOS and firmware are most recent ones.
Thanks in advance,
Steven AntoniusOk, thanks for clarifying that for me. Currently, I am unaware of any issues with OS X 10.8.x and the earlier 802.11b/g AirPorts or with them conflicting with earlier OS X Macs.
If you temporarily power-off the iMac can the MacBook connect now? If so, try setting the Radio Mode on the Express to: "802.11g only." By default, it is set at: "802.11b/g compatible." Verify that the MacBook can still connect. Once verified, power-down the MacBook. Now power-up the iMac. Verify that it can connect. Leave it powered on. Finally power-up the MacBook. Can it connect now? -
My ipad suddenly cannot connect to wifi internet, you can see the icon that its connected but most of the apps are not opening with message not connected to internet...

Close All Open Apps... Sign Out of your Account... Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
Release the Buttons...
If no joy...

This will return all iDevice settings to factory defaults... you will not lose any data.... But you will have to re-enter all of the device settings. -
When i wake up my iMac from sleep my wifi is disconnected. It also disconnects my iPad, my wives iPad, my iPhone & Sky On Demand which is connected via wifi. To reconnect all devices i have to switch off & then on again wifi on the iMac. Can anyone help?
Had the same issue and finally solved it. After the upgrade to Mavericks our 2 new Macbook Airs stopped connecting automatically to Wifi while the older machines the kids had still worked fine.
Bought a new airport extreme and problem solved. Our Airport Extreme was about 5 years old and was probably not compatible with the new OSX.
BTW this was after trying everything people suggested on this forum and a 4 hour marathon tech support call with Apple where we reinstalled the OSX.
***** to need to spend $200 but glad the problem got solved.
New extreme is also mega fast so its all good. -
Toggling my Ipad again and again to connect to a WIFI internet, Fix this please
Hi i updated my Ipad last week ever since the update is installed there are strange things that happend to my Ipad, the scenario is that in the setting it connected the WIFI but when i got to the browser or any game that uses WIFI it appears it can't connect to the internet, I check the WIFI modem but there is internet does anyone knows how to fix this problem? I just toggle it off and on to connect to the WIFI internet again but i know this is not normal in Ipad, which problem is this the Ipad or the modem setting itself?

Is there ANY other solution, other than deleting a mother load of stuff??
Not really. Dump some of the motherlode from the PC to an external drive. You really want to backup your iPad to your own computer - especially - if you have synced to the computer in the past.
However, if you have iOS 5 on the iPad - you can update over the air - via WiFi - but you really should have a backup somewhere before you update.
So - can I assume that you have not been using iCloud for backups? Would that be the case? -
