IPad 2 WIFI (ios 4.3) Safari+proxy problem

I have a problem with my new iPad 2 WIFI (4.3). With my iPhone 4 (4.1) I have no problem to connect to my authenticating proxy (squid) in my college. With my iPad, it's impossible... Safary is very slow and can't connect to websites. The settings are the same on both devices.
What's wrong ?
It seems that 4.3.1 is not a solution (??) can you confirm please ?

Safari on my iPad2 is super slow. I use the iPhone 3GS right next to it, and the iPhone just zips. Both show two bars of signal strength. Both are running iOS 4.3.1. The iPad2 is a Verizon 3G with 64 gb.
I have noticed the problem in other apps too. In iTunes when I try to preview a song, the wheel on the song spins, but the wheel next to the wifi symbol showing the bars does not come on. I've noticed the same behavior in the Zite app as well.
Also, the bars showing wifi signal strength will sometimes show up as two bars in the wifi setup screen, but none at all in the upper left hand corner.

Hello Everybody,
My iPad 2 Wifi with iOS 5.1.1 is stuck on the Apple logo. I didn't do anthing to it and this
is the first problem I've had since I bought it during the iPad 2 launch. I've tried a few things
and they didn't work.
I wonder if Apple is trying to force me to upgrade.

In my opinion, iOS 6 is an immense down grade.
However, iOS 7 is being released tomorrow and it
looks fairly promising.
I still desire iOS 5 on my iPad 2 and I'm hoping a
solution with emerge out of somewhere.

There is no problem. That is how this process works. You should backup the iPad, and transfer purchases before you update the iOS.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

After upgrading iPad Air to IOS 8.1 I get following problems

Since updating my iPad Air to IOS 8.1 Safari occasionally fails to render a page; sometimes it will do so after touching the screen, other times I have to try loading again. Another time it failed to render the whole screen and got stuck in a small viewport less than the screen size with black screen around it. Finally, Safari crashed with Blue Screen of Death on a simple touch gesture.
In writing this I am finding it difficult to use the insertion cursor to edit typos! Cursor jumps words so correcting spelling is very difficult.
Please address these serious quality flaws in the next point release.

I would love to find a solution to this problem, too. I have read various threads and tries what they suggested, namely:
turned off auto update for apps
tried to download one at a time from my 'purchased' area and not the update area
reset iPad Air
installed updates all the way to 8.0.2
Anyways, none of these worked. I can buy but not download new apps and I cannot update existing apps at all.
In the end, I've had to sideload via my laptop by updating on the laptop and synching. Not the end of the world, true, but something on the iPad is clearly broken by the iOS updata and nobody at Apple has offered any assistance.

Bluetooth audio not in sync with video on iPad 2 with iOS 6

I noticed that after I upgraded my iPad 2 to iOS 6, there was a problem with I use my A2DP Bluetooth headset (Jabra Halo) with my iPad 2. The audio is no longer in sync with the video playback! And it's really annoying. This problem does not exist when I plug in a headset to the iPad.
Is anyone else facing this issue? I only has one bluetooth headset so I'm not sure if this is a problem with my Jabra Halo headset or the iOS 6. This used to work without any issues with iOS 5.

I fixed the problem by restoring my iPhone while connected to my MacBook.
This happened after I connected to a store's network that has a privacy policy pop-up in wifi settings. Hope this doens't happen everytime I connect to such a netowork.

Is there any way to run Siri on my iPad(iOS 6) with Local WiFi Network which requires a proxy sever and a port(8080) to connect to the internet?

I create the WiFi network using the internet sharing option in my Macbook Pro from a local ethernet connection..and set the HTTP proxy settings in my new iPad.Siri runs like a charm on an other WiFi connection which doesnt require proxy but on my University connection it says that it cant handle any requests right now..

We were having the same problem here at the School I work at. By looking at some traffic logs and doing some internal testing, it appears Siri attempts to make a direct connection to the outside network using HTTPS (port 443), without using any of the proxy settings you may have configured on the Wifi network.
We've reported it as a bug to Apple but haven't heard anything back yet.
To get around it in the meantime you'll have to punch a hole in your firewall to allow Siri traffic through.
Currently Siri appears to contact IP address 17.174.4.14 over port 443. The IP address may change in the future, but that will at least get you up and going for now. We went ahead and opened the entire 17.174.4.0/24 network, as the entire block of addressess is owned by Apple.
Again, there is no gaurentee that this will not change in the future and break again.

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app
    •    Tap on Wi-Fi
    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

Since updating my IPAD 4 to IOS 7 my wifi seems to be running slower. At the same time it seems to be using less power. I wonder if Apple have tweaked the processor speed or something. Any ideas?

Since running IOS 7 on my IPAD 4 I have noticed that safari or Google APP are running slower. When loading data there is a noticeable delay in the 'bar' running across the screen. The IPAD also seems to be lasting longer between charges. I wonder if Apple have tweaked how the processor is being used for wifi.

Same issue on my 9 month old IPad4. Turned of all the new fancy additions but no real increase in speed.
One thing I noticed when I installed IOS7 was that my free space Immediated jumped from 17Gb on IOS6 to 18.5Gb.
I then noticed the much slower performance. On IOS6 my pad performed so quickly it often brought a smile to my face, now I'm watching and waiting while it staggers along loading a page(. Fibre Broadband 45mb/sec so no hold up there and this on my usual browsing sites so it's not their servers ) .
I'm wondering whether Apple have increased the compression of the system files, so they take longer to unpack - or is am I clutching at straws. Anyone else notice extra space after update.

Same problem with my ipad air with ios 8.02, lost connectivity with 5Ghz band. It works for about 5 seconds, then hangs in Safari, email, etc. When I connect to 2.4 ghz band, it all works fine. Please fix this. Thank you.

Repeatedly prompted for a wifi network when already connected (iPad Air 2 / iOS 8.1.3)

Hey there
Subject says it all: since the iOS 8.1.3 update on my new iPad Air2 Wifi/GSM 128GB, I keep being prompted to choose a wifi network even when already connected to my home network or tethering on my iPhone. It's quite a pain to type a mail when I have to stop every few seconds to answer or cancel this stupid prompt window.
Oddly enough, it works all right on my iPhone (otherwise, I'd use 4G).
Anyone's got a nice trick to end that issue? Thanks in advance.

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds). No data will be lost.
