IPad 2 - wifi model or wifi + 3G model

I have a Sprint 3G overdrive and I want to buy an iPad 2.  Do I need to go for the wifi   3G model, or will I still get 3G with just the wifi model because the overdrive has 3G?

I think the best bet is to get the WiFi/3G model. It's the one I bought. I mostly use WiFi because WiFi seems to be all around these days in malls, restaurants, etc. But once in a while the 3G comes in handy also.  It will be worth it to get the 3g.

Is there no GPS in ipad air wifi model ??

Apple doesnt integrate GPS on the Wi-Fi only models, but you can still locate yourself and use Location Services only if you are connected through Wi-Fi. The cellular + Wi-Fi models are more precise on GPS as they use cellular signals to pinpoint accuracy of your location.
If you meant GPS as in Car GPS, it will be tough to drive with a Wi-Fi only model as it will keep asking you to join networks every time your out of range. Otherwise, the Cellular+ WiFi can support connection almost wherever you go.

  • I want to buy an ipad mini Wifi Cellular and use it in Central Asia,so there are two models: A1454 and A1455,what is the difference?

I want to buy an ipad mini Wifi Cellular and use it in Central Asia,so there are two models: A1454 and A1455,what is the difference?

Either will work fine in Central Asia as loge ad the carries support GSM (almost all do).
One of the iPads will only work with the AT&T GSM) network if you are in the USA and the Other with the Virizon network (uses CDMA, not GSM/SIM) if you are in the USA

  • Does Ipad-2 wifi  model no MC769LL/A Support Sim card ?

Does Ipad-2 wifi  model no MC769LL/A Support Sim card ?

No, none of the wifi-only iPads can have a sim card inserted. If you have an iPhone then (if your carrier supports it) then you use that as a personal hotspot for the iPad, or you could get a mifi device and use that as a mobile hotspot for it.

  • Help needed asap! Will my IPAD 3G wifi work in another country with the sim of a 3G services provider?

Help needed asap! I want to buy an IPAD 3G + Wifi before I return to my country from the US. The problem is that I have GSM service providers in my country that provide 3G services but I am wondering if their SIM card would work in the IPAD? In other words, can I get an unlocked IPAD 3G wifi? Thanks for helping out

The AT&T 3G iPads (which are GSM/sim based) in the US are not locked (the Verizon models are CDMA based so they effectively are). So as long as you can get a sim in your own country you shouldn't have a problem

  • I am planning to buy an iPad 2 WiFi   3 G from USA , will it work in Egypt?

    HI ,
I am planning to buy a new iPad 2 WiFi + 3 G from USA ,,,, and i will use it in Egypt.. will it be unlocked for AT&T in Egypt ?
    thanks  ,

Make sure you buy the WiFi+3G AT&T (3G) model.
You won't be able to order it online unless you have a US credit card tied to a US address and a US shipping address, so I am assuming you are coming here to purchase it. If so, call ahead before you go buy it to make sure they have one in stock.

  • IPad Mini wifi headache

    Hi All,
I brought a brand new iPad mini after doing quite a bit of research (or so I thought, at least), only today, and yet I seem to already be encountering one huge issue.  I brought the wifi model, and the wifi consistantly times out.  My samsung phone, my samsung netbook, and my xbox 360 all link up perfectly to the wifi without any fuss whatsoever, but for some reason, the iPad mini keeps blinkering out.
I had considered just taking it back to where I got it from (argos) but my local shop is pretty strict about their policies.  As this is a piece of tech, it's exempt from the 30 day guarentee.  I've been on the phone to the main Argos centre, who have said I should ring up their support people and get them to talk me through it... I've tried the number, and my mobile rejected it; literally just bleeped out and ended the call before it was even made, which makes me wonder if it was a wrong number.
Can anyone offer me any advice here?

Try unplugging your WiFi router for a few seconds.  Then reset the iPad's network.  Go to Settings-General-Reset-Reset Network Settings.  You may need to reconnect the iPad to WiFi.

  • Connect to iTunes required after every power off of Ipad 64GB wifi

My Ipad 64GB wifi model continually prompts to "connect to iTunes" every time I power off and power back on. This is extremely frustrating and the Apple Customer Care has asked that I return my iPad. I would rather find a solution since I am working Iraq and my Ipad is my e-book reader (in place of a Kindle. Steps taken thus far:
Reset iPad (Erase All Content and Settings)
    Reset Network settings
Reset All Settings (content not erased)
I've read that this problem sometimes occurs with some third-party applications installed (like Jailbird) . I do not have any of those applications installed. If anyone can offer a solution I would greatly appreciate it.
    Danielle

Since you erased all content and reinstalled the OS and this still happens, sounds like a hardware failure. You need to take the iPad back to an Apple store for an exchange.

  • Can i get sprint internet service put on a ipad air+wifi

I want to get the internet on my ipad air+wifi?

Unless you purchased a Sprint-model iPad, then as AmishCake said, you cannot. If you do have a Sprint-model iPad, post back with details about the problem and someone can probably offer suggestions. If you not have a Sprint-model iPad, then a "MiFi" device for Sprint or tethering through a Sprint cellphone will be your only options.

  • Can I make bbm work on my ipad 4 wifi only (jailed) ???

I have a ipad 4 wifi only model and I want to use bbm on it ...is there any possible way to do so !!!

    Yes there is!
I have an iPad 4 and bbm works like normal.. when downloading it you have to search 'BBM', then at the top of the screen change 'iPad only' to 'iPhone only'. BBM was optimized for iPhone so it will look blury, but its better than nothing!

  • Screen stuttering in iPad 2 WiFi+3G

    Hi,
I've experiencing bad screen stuttering in my iPad 2 WiFi+3G for a while, and now I want to figure out what it's causing it.
To be short, there's video stuttering in YouTube (however this gets confused with delay of the 3G/WiFi network), much screen stuttering in the Facebook news feed and the same screen stuttering appears in every other application.
May it be because the disk space is at its lowest? I've only 586 MB out of 13,8 GB free.
    No music stuttering in iTunes.
    My specs:
iOS 6.1.3 (10B329) - I do not want to update to iOS 7 as of now
    Model/type MC773TY/A (iPad 2, WiFi + 3G)
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
The iPad 2 isn't compatible with 4G or LTE networks, so you need a new iPad if you want to use it. Apart from that, you have to find a carrier that supports this network

  • My ipad loses wifi connection every night, why?

My ipad loses wifi connection every night, why?

This is a user forum so no one here would know Apple's plans. By the way the problem may very well not be Apple's.
Even if your router is "new" visit the manufacturer's support web page to see if there is a firmware update for it. Also check to see if there is a support hotline or forum.
If you need more help please give the make, model, and version of your WiFi router.

Has Apple issued an Ipad 2 wifi disconnect solution yet?

non of my ios devices ever had that issue so it's rather like that that your post should be
