IPad 2 wifi turns itself off and I cannot turn it back on

Despite my sig it's actually iOS 4.3.3.
Twice now my wifi will turn off and cannot be turned back in. When you move the little slidy thing it goes to on, says on but on the left still says off. Also the box showing available network will not appear nor the option to 'ask to join networks' option. Needless to say the wifi isn't actually working. The only way to get it working again is to power off and back on.
The first time it happened was moments after I left the apple store. I connected to their wifi, left, went into s Starbucks and tried to connect but it was off. The latest time was after staying away from home and upon my return it wouldn't connect to my home network.
I already use a static address so it's not that and our iPad 1 works fine.
Thanks

Be sure the Settings - Airplane Mode is set to OFF.
Rebooting the CPU may solve the problem.  However just turning the power off does not reset anything.  To reboot, hold both the Sleep and Home buttons several seconds until the Apple logo appears.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" arrow.  After the iPad restarts, see if your WiFi has improved.
If rebooting does not help, or you have to repeat the process frequently, there could be a hardware problem with your iPad.  The Apple Store Genius should be able to run more thorough diagnostics.
Can you use a static address at Starbucks?

    iPhone won't operate under 0°C.
At page http://www.apple.com/iphone/specs.html you can see environmental requirements:
    Operating temperature: 32° to 95° F
    (0° to 35° C)
    Nonoperating temperature: -4° to 113° F
    (-20° to 45° C)
Relative humidity: 5% to 95% noncondensing
    Maximum operating altitude: 10,000 feet (3000 m)

My Iphone 4 has just turned itself off and I cant turn it back on. It had a full battery before it cut off so its definetly not the battery, however I have found recently that the battery has been running out really quickly. any ideas what to do? Thanks

    Try resetting your phone:
Press the sleep/wake button & home button at the same time, keep pressing until you see the Apple logo, then release.

  • TS1363 my ipod turned itself off and now it wont come back on

My ipod was fully charged & it turned itself off & now it wont came back on. What should I do? I sometimes have the same problem with my iphone3GS.

Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. (And there is no need to SHOUT.)

  • Computer just turned itself off and now cannot turn on

Hi. I have a HP Touch smart 310 PC. The last week it has been sounding like it was about to take off, I thought at first that it might of been struggling with to much internal memory. So I went in and deleted a lot of files and photos, this didn't seem to do anything as I was on it it just turned itself off. I turned it off at the power overnight and tried to restart it in the morning but I had no luck. The power button on the side usually light up but unfortunately does not. I have pulled out all cords turned off power. What I have noticed is the power adapter around the back is coming up green. Has anyone on had the same thing happen and if so what did you do. Many thanks

My I Phone 3GS did exactly the same. Tried holding the buttons, syncing it to my laptop, plugging it in to the mains (it didn't even beep).
I rang my service provider (Orange) but they couldnt fix it. They passed me onto Apple. Who went through everything. But no joy.
Apple sent me a box to return my mobile to them.  Now I have no mobile and have to wait to hear from Apple..

If you have restored to factory settings and started as new, there is nothing more that you can do on your own. Make an appointment at an Apple Store and ask them for help. You might have a hardware problem and the Apple Store techs will be able to determine that.

  • Why does my 1st gen iPad always turns itself off and goes back to the screen. Whether I'm reading news, iBooks, etc, suddenly it goes off.

If that doesn't help, the battery may be dying and need replacement. See here (tap on Battery Replacement): http://support.apple.com/kb/index?page=servicefaq&geo=United_States&product=ipad
Alternately, might consider start saving for a new iPad. The newest iPad 6 should come out in the next few months. When it does, sellers will want to get rid of old inventory with good deals.

  • My iphone 4s keeps freezing and turning itself off and the wifi option is now greyed out

My iphone 4s has been freezing and turning itself off and on for a few weeks now. I have reset it to factory settings and reinstalled everything, have updated the operating system but nothing seems to work. It was having problems connecting to wifi and when I tried to access the settings it freezes and can't find any connections. I have just updated the phone to 7.1 and now the wifi option is completely greyed out.

Your battery may have completely run down. When you connect it to power, leave it. It can take even up to an hour to get enough charge to get it to a useable state.
Although, I believe even fully drained, you should see some kind of indication on the screen of charging in progress, but it's very dim.

  • My ipad2 keeps turning itself off and On

my ipad2 keeps turning itself off and on. I can be playing a game or looking on the Internet and it will just turn off and restart all by itself. I pulled up and hooked it up to itunes on my computer but I'm not really sure what to do there either.  It's so annoying, especially when it's used daily, or all day, by me or my kids and it's constantly shutting off in the middle of things.

DId the rebooting start recently after doing an iOS update or installing a game?
There could be several reasons for your iPad randomly shutting down & restarting.
Sometimes low memory (RAM) can cause the issue.
First, restart the iPad by holding down the home & sleep/wake buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears then let go and wait until the iPad boots up normally.  This can help clear the cache & free up memory.
If that doesn't work, try a general reset:
Settings->General->Reset->Reset All Settings.  You will not lose any data but will have to log back into your Wifi networks.
If the issue occurs while using a particular app, try uninstalling the app to see if it continues.
As a last resort try restoring the iPad back to factory settings.  Be sure to backup your iPad first.

Unfortunately, it may also be that your battery is starting to fail but try the above to see if the problem persists.

    Hello untech,
I see that it has been awhile since you have posted with us on the HP Forums.  Please let me take a moment to say "Welcome Back".
I see that you are having an issue with the printer shutting it self off and not powering back on.
By chance do you have the printer power cable connected to a power bar/strip?  If so, please try connecting the printers power cable directly to a wall outlet.  Here is a document that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
The printer in the document is a LaserJet printer but this document is meant for HP products in general and only uses the LaserJet as an example.
I am also going to include a document for when The HP Printer Won't Turn On or Respond When the Power Button is Pressed.
If by chance the issue is not resolved after doing the steps outlined,  I would then suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. If you are calling within North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, click here: click here.
Please feel free to write me back if you have any other questions.
I hope you have a great Monday.
