Ipad 2 won't go into setup

I have a new Ipad2. I plugged it into my laptop where other ipods are synced. Laptop went dead when Ipad touched laptop. My Gurue? said" bad usb ports and or not enough power. I switched to desktop signed in and nothing happens.

this is a software glitch, i suggest holding the home button and power button together untill you see the apple then let go, do not slide to power off, if all else fails you might have to restore the device to factory settings, still doesnt do that then its a hardware issue, and its probably going to be 250$ or more to replace

Hi, I'm new to MSI. I have a new 865PE Neo2 P board.. unfortunately, I can't get it to go into setup bios no matter what I try. It gets into some Intel boot.. where it beeps .. print out "Intel ... Realtek gigabit ethernet.. Media problem: check cable".. and then if I plug an ethernet cable in .. it goes into "DHCP .... blah blah.. PXE mon exiting".. and then the whole thing loops again.
How can I get this thing to go into BIOS / Setup? I've tried everything the book suggests.. DEL, ctrl-alt-delete, F11-F10 etc.. almost to the point I am beginning to wonder if it's even looking at keyboard input..

Ahh... It must be trying to boot from LAN...
I suggest that you try clearing CMOS, taking the mobo battery out for few seconds and place it back and boot up again and see if the problem persists.

I too gave experienced this problem twice now (the first time with the upgrade to 3.2.1 then last night with the upgrade to 3.2.2). After reading this forum (& many, many others) & having tried nearly everything that everyone has suggested, it appears that several people had hinted at something that the majority of us have perhaps taken for granted.
It seems that if your iPad is not fully charged (& I REALLY mean FULLY charged), the chances of you falling into the never ending loop of the dreaded 'error 1014' occurring are increased! I seriously have nearly lost my mind & even after contacting Apple Care Support & spending over an hour on the phone (they were extremely helpful), we initially were unable to fix the problem & I was booked into my nearest Apple store for a repair/replacement.
After spending another 2 hours last night innocently attempting to update my iPad to 3.2.2, I saw that several people had recommended either disconnecting the iPad from the computer & plugging it into your Apple supplied power supply & letting it fully charge for several hours, or leaving it plugged into your computer (directly & not via a hub) & then try the whole process again.
Luckily, for me, this worked! I was not only relieved but absolutely astonished (& annoyed) that this was the only thing that worked for me! So my suggestion for those of you that may be experiencing this problem, give this a try. You have absolutely nothing to lose & hopefully you'll be able to update your iPad safely & correctly.

IPad won't go into Sleep mode

After using an App made specifically for the iPad and then try to turn off/put my iPad to sleep, it does not react at all. If I then start an App which was designed for the iPhone, then pressing the button on the top of the iPad leads directly to the iPad switching to sleep mode.
This does not happen with all iPad apps. Any ideas? I've tried it with several different iPad apps and it happens with some of them. All iPhone apps have no negative effects on the iPad sleep mode, which tells me that there has to be a problem with some of the iPad apps.

Try a cold reboot. Same as turning off the iPad except keep holding down both buttons (side on/off and top screen Home button) until you see the Apple logo (it will go through the "Slide to power off" thing first- keep holding down). It should reboot automatically when you let go after the logo appears. This can take some time so be patient.

Remember, any purchased item from the itunes store is forever associated with the Apple ID used to buy it. So when you get prompted for an ID/password and it doesn't accept it, then you are using the wrong ID.
Go to Settings>iTunes and App Stores, be sure it's logged into the ID you have set on the iphone (since that one seems to be connecting with the right ID). If you've done this, then you might wait a bit to see if the "cannot connect to .. store" message has to do with internet connections.

Spoken with canon who suggest it it is a problem with IOS not recognising the functionality. When I try to print it says cannot find any air printers. Printer is working via LAN set up on my laptop. Don't want to have to spend £25 to speak to an apple support team. Has anyone else experienced this problem. Printer is a canon MG 3250.

A few things you could try:
Reboot your modem/router.
Turn your printer off then on again & make sure it's connected to the network.
Reboot your iPad holding down the home & sleep/wake buttons simultaneously until the apple logo appears then release & let the iPad boot up normally.
Try going into Settings on your iPad & select General->Reset->Reset Network Settings.

It's just the battery sign - nothing else. I've tried to reboot by holding down both power and home key for 10+ seconds, waiting for the apple logo - but nothing happens. It's plugged into the imac at the moment. I tried to recharge it overnight using the normal charger - but no luck. It went dead during a Skype call with a friend - even though it was powered into the mains - albeit at a low battery level at the time

Lightning cable won't push into socket at base of ipad

I have had my ipad with retina display for two years and now the lightning to USB cable won't plug into the socket on ipad. I bought a new cable, thinking the old one was no good, but the new one won't push in either. John

I suspect that there is a damaged pin inside the Lightning port that is preventing your cable from seating properly. The bent pin on the original cable is the clue. Have an Apple technician examine the device and recommend options. Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

It sounds very very much like the battery. You will need to have it replaced. If you put the failing one in yourself you will need to pay as your Warranty is now void.
