Ipad 2 won't start due to password. won't connect to itunes either...
Son, 12, received this Ipad for christmas. Added a password. Got one week of use, now it won't work. "Ipad is diabled, connect to ITunes." When we try to connect to Itunes, it says cannot connect because it has a password, but the ipad won't give the screen to insert the password.
Follow the instrucitons in http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376 and note to right click the installer and choose Run as Administrator

My brand new iPad 4 won't connect to iTunes on my PC.
My brand new iPad 4 won't connect to iTunes on my PC. When first connected to the USB port this mornng, iPad appeared under devices in iTunes, but it soon disappeared. I waited and reconnected using a different USB port, and "iPad" appeare for a short time, and I was able to transfer some files to my iPad. But the connection was broken again. This last attempt, "iPad" appeared for about 30 seconds, and then nothing. The iPad is two days old! What can I do?

If problem persist return device for a refund or exchange.

My iPad & iPhone won't connect to iTunes store.... it worked just fine earlier today... but not now.
My daughter also has an iPad and an iPhone and these too won't connect either (use the same iTunes account)
Nothing has changed since this morning, I've gone through all of Apples suggested troubleshooting guides but it still won't work!
Help?p.s. I just signed out of my apple id on daughters iPad and tried to create a new apple ID and still got the message CANNOT CONNECT TO ITUNES STORE......
so is this a problem with apple rather than my devices? Just seems weird that all our apple devices are doing this this afternoon when they were just fine this morning.......
P.P.S Just got a text from a friend with iphone and ipad......they are having same issue so at least I know it's not just me, so what's going on here APPLE????? -

I recently made a dumb decision and changed my iPad pass code, I must have blanked out because I have no memory of the password to get in and now I'm locked out. iTunes is requiring the pass code but I don't remember it! I'm not connected to iCloud for some reason so I cannot reset my iPad. I feel that I have to resort to buying a new iPad. Please help!

You may have to do this several times.
Saw this solution on another post about an iPad in a school environment. Might work on your iPad so you won't lose everything.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.

I'm trying to set up a new ipad4. It won't access my home wi-fi. The wi-fi is working because I'm using another iPad to type this. The new one won't connect to my iTunes account either. What can I do now?
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

IPad 2 won't connect to iTunes after installing iOS7
After installing iOS7 wirelessly, the connect to iTunes logo pops up. I'm currently just using my iPad as a web browser/e-book reader so I really have no care to what happens to any of my music and apps so I didn't back it up. Also, my current laptop doesn't have iTunes on it since my brother and I swapped laptops because I had to reinstall Lion on my Mac, so I had to donwload and install iTunes.
I tried the sleep/wake + home shut down and holding the home button after connecting to the usb and it still doesn't work. Then I tired running diagnostics, it said that it can't connect to the internet (eventhough here the ef I am) and there are no USB ports (eventhough here I am effing using my working usb wireless mouse).Hello LaGeas,
The following article contains information and tips that can help get your iPad to work with your computer.

IPad 2 won't connect to iTunes store
I just purchased an iPad 2 this morning and set everything up. I went on my iPad and clicked iTunes and iTunes opens up, but when I click to buy something it exits out of iTunes and a blue box comes up that says "cannot connect to iTunes store". The same thing happens to the app store to. Ive been trying to figure it out but I can't, any suggestions about what it could be?
Had exactly the same problem, my iPhone had no issues, but my brand new iPad would not connect to AppStore or iTunes, and sometimes it would not connect to YouTube, iBooks or GameCenter... I tried all tips and suggestions that I could find on the web, but none seemd to work.
But when I tried my iPad on a different network, all was fine! So I got a new Cisco WiFi router and hey presto! No problems with AppStore or anything! Weird (wired) but true... I can't see a reasonable explanation why my 2 yr old Belkin (B-G-N) router would cause these problems, but theydisappeared totally with the new router installed. -
My iPad 2 won't connect to iTunes
Last night I plugged my iPad into iTunes just to update it and everything was fine. iTunes asked if I wanted to download and install the most recent update/download it had so of course I accepted and did this, however when it had done I found that my iPad has been wiped and there is no content on it. The sign on the front comes up telling me to open iTunes however when I plug it in iTunes won't open or if iTunes is already open then it won't register that my iPad is connected.
I also have an iPhone 4s and I have tried plugging this into iTunes and everything works fine. I have tried deleting iTunes off of my computer and reinstalling it and this made no differenceiPad not appearing in iTunes

IPad 3G won't connect to iTunes
Unable to set up the iPad -- have used the online assistant and completed all steps for troubleshooting... no luck. Any suggestions?
If you've tried the restart and also the reset, you can either:
Contact Support:
http://www.apple.com/support/expert/
Or visit your Apple store for assistance.
What are you seeing on the ipad screen? If it's the itunes 'connect' picture, maybe the sync cable is bad. So be sure to take the sync cable to the apple store with you. -
Hi there,
The title says it all really.
When I connect iPad 2 to iTunes it doesn't connect - it does through wifi however.
When connected to either iTunes or charger it doesn't say it's charging however it will if wifi etc. are off at about 1% or so per hour.
Yes! I have tried restarting both the computer and the ipad, different outlets, charges, computers and leads, etc., etc., etc.
Maybe someone has some ideas?
Thanks,
Jim.iPad Charging
"The fastest way to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter.
iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter.
When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge, but only when it's in sleep mode.
Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain." -

I tried recover mode twice and it did nothing. The 15 day warranty is already up and I'm just wondering if I need to replace the battery at all? Also, before it stopped charging, it would turn off for no reason and the only way to turn it back on was to plug it into a charger and then it would turn right back on and have the same amount of battery that it had when it turned off... Is it the battery I need to replace??
