Ipad 20-pinn connector to vga to projector

I can't seem to get my ipad to display when plugged into a projector via the apple vga connector cable. With my mac, I would use auto detect display, and when i plug the cable into my iphone it says that the accessory does not work with my phone (but acknowledging that it does read it). With my ipad nothing happens. I have scrolled through the types of inputs on the projector but nothing changes. It is a HD projector but that should not matter (Sony). Any help would be appreciated.

I've read that the VGA connector will not project what's on your iPad screen when the cable is attached to a projector or TV. Only certain apps will project their contents, but that has to be programmed into the app for that to happen. As I recall, GoodReader will do that, you might try it.

  • Can i connect ipad 3 to aprojector throught vga adapter and can i then mirror keynote presentations

can i connect my ipad 3 to aprojector throught vga adapter to mirror keynote presentations

I don't know if there is a Dock-To-VGA Adapter in the Store, but there is a Dock-To-HDMI-Adapter.
Newer projectors have an HDMI-Input-Slot. (30$ Adapter +10$ HDMI-Cable (if it doesn't exists)
    You also could buy on top a HDMI-To-VGA-Adapter (30$ Adapter1 + 30$ Adapter2 + 10$ VGA-Cable (if it doesn't exists))
An deluxe solution would be an Apple-TV
    + HDMI-Cable
    or + HDMI-To-VGA-Adapter + VGA-Cable
now you can use AirPlay by setting up an adhoc WLAN from your iPad which the Apple TV can use.
Cause I have an Apple TV, I take that with me with the adhoc WLAN setup of my iPhone.
All settings are done, so it's only a plug in at the room where to hold that presentation. Wirelessly from my iPhone Keynote-App via AirPlay to AppleTV (Mirrow or as second screen, with seeing notes and controls on my iPhone) and from Apple TV to the projector.

  • Anyone tested iPad with Samsung SP-H03 pocket sized projector?

I want to show Keynote presentations from iPad using the dock to VGA adapter and Samsung SP-H03 pocket sized projector. I think it might be hard if the room is not dark but has anyone tried?

It works really well. Particularly well in small rooms with low light. Keynote and video apps work great. In addition to the vga iPad cable you'll need a gender changer as the vga cable that comes with the H-03 is also female.

  • X1 connectivity problem with old VGA beam projector using mini displayport to VGA adaptor.

    Hi all,
I would like to ask you how to connect this X1 with VGA projector as well.
actually, X1 has a external interface specification as  mini displayport 1.1a.
So I bought mini displayport to VGA adapter from MAC store.
(Actually, Lenovo Korea office doesn’t sell this adapter directly on Korea, even in the future.)
and try to connect both of LED monitor and beam projector.
LED monitor was worked as well. but, this adaptor doesn't work with VGA projector. TT
Please help me how to work this adaptor with projector as well.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Hi everybody. I was having the same issue here, but I bought a Mac minidisplayport to VGA adapter. It worked on my Monitor but it was not working on my clients VGA beam projectors. But today I figured out a way to make it work, and it is pretty easy; just change your laptop screen resolution.
When you connect the mini Dport to VGA adapter to the projector VGA receiver cable, just change your laptop screen resolution to 1024x768 (maximum) and the projector will receive the signal with no problem.
This is the best solution that I found, because is easy to find a Mac/Apple Mini display Port to VGA adapter.
Hope this works for you too.
    Regards,
    J.

If you have not done so, try exiting the Photo app (and maybe more apps if you have a lot open) from the Open Apps List and see if a discount/reconnect opens the app. If that does not work, try powering down the iPad and test. If it is still not working try a hard reset by pressing both Home and Sleep/Wake buttons at the same time until the Apple graphic appears, ignoring the Slide to Power Off button.

Why Can't I view purchased movies on my Tv using iPad mini and lighting to VGA adoptor

There's an issue currently that a lot of us are experiencing in that we all get the error message "iTunes is currently unavailable; please try later"
It's an issue with Apple and we're awaiting an update re this
I've posted a topic in regards to this after having a long conversation with Apple support this morning and will be receiving a call from their tech team tomorrow to run through it further
As it stands iTunes cannot be accessed via ATV's and nor can it be streamed via AirPlay from iTunes to the ATV
However I can access all films/iCloud content via my Mac Mini with no issues!

  • IPad's camera connector kit to use a USB DAC on iPod?

I understand that the iPad's camera connector kit can be plugged into an iPad to use a USB audio interfaces such as an external DAC. Will this be possible with an iPod 5.5G?

According to previoss reports, it does not work with an older iPod. However, there may be other third party products that offer this functionality for your older iPod.

  • Ipad to aplle tv to vga projector

For teaching and presentation purposes I need to connect my ipad to an apple tv and then to a projector that only has vga inputs. Is this possible?

your question is not really for ipad but for appletv forum
there are somewhat pricy converters which make hdmi to vga but vga don't carry audio so it would be silent
and all DRM material such as movies from itunes or netflix or the likes would not work

  • IPad dock connector to VGA - opinions ?

I'm considering the purchase of a dock-to-vga adapter for my iPad. I have Netflix streaming capability and would like to view films on my Toshiba 42" TV. I've read numerous posts were persons who bought were disappointed in the output capabilities. I know the latest NetFlix version does support output re-direction.
My concern is the quality of the re-directed output. Since Netflix detects the display type would it see the native iPad display or the re-directed TV ? I know that $30 is not a lot to spend but question how well the output will look.
Thanks in advance for any help/opinions.

I think the VGA adapter does a pretty good job. Netflix looks good on my 42 inch TV. You will need a separate audio cable to get sound to the TV. I used headphone to red/white RCA plugs for mine.

  • Mini Dvi to VGA for Projector issue

I recently bought a mini DVI to VGA adapter for my new macbook Black 2.4 ghz. When I hook this up to the projector nothing comes through, but the computer recognizes the projector. I know it is not the projector because when I plug in my 12inch powerbook it instantly recognizes the computer and displays whatever is on the screen. I even returned the adapter for a new one and am still having the problem. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Are there steps that I'm not doing, or is there something wrong with the mini dvi on my macbook?

When I attach my MacBook to a projector via mini DVI, all variations of order of activation used, the desktop image appears, but the icons and other open pages are off the screen to the right.
Of greater importance, Keynote presentations appear as two slides side by side, with a timer under the left image and no transitions.
This has happened with two portable projectors and one overhead, exactly the same images with each.

  • How can I connect multiple devices to Mac mini display port? I need to connect a Canon 5D to my Mac and display the result on a VGA video projector. I am using mini hdmi to mini display for the camera. Can I connect the VGA to any other port?

Hi there I am connecting a Canon 5D to my laptop trying to use it as a webcam trough camtwist.
At the same time I need to output the streaming to a videoprojector.
The cam is connected to the mini display port do there is no port available for the VGA cable anymore.
Do I need to use a different port for the projector? Should I buy a video card?
Can't connect the camera via USB as that is too slow and it will freeze.

  • HT3382 Does the Apple MiniDisplayPort to VGA adapter allow me to connect a VGA DLP projector as a display?

I want to connect my MacBook Pro i7 that has a mini Dsiplay Port/Thunderbolt port. I want to connect it to my VGA NEC LT20 DLP Projector.
I have the Apple MiniDisplayPort to VGA adapter, MB5727Z/A, Model Number A1307 and the computer does not recognize the NEC LT20, nor does the LT20 recieve the MacBook Pro as a computer or other source.
My previous MacBook Pro core duo with DVI to VGA adapter worked fine with the projector.
Is this because the Apple  MiniDisplayPort to VGA adapter is only for computer to VGA video displays?
Is there another adapter that will allow me to use my particular VGA proejctor with my MacBook Pro?
Has my replacing the old computer with the newer one forced me to shell out big bucks to for another projector, thereby making my ability to give educational lectures for free to audiences impossible?

When you plug the projector into the computer, with the projector on, dose the computer reconize a second a 2nd display is connected?
ie: Menu bar, click on the Apple menu, chose System Preferences, click on displays, do you see an arragment tab?
if you do see an arragment tab, try clicking gather display windows. a window should pop up for the projector. What resolution is it set to? is there a lower resolution you could set?

  • Mini dvi to vga to projector help

Having a serious issue with the mini dvi connector. It is plugged into the projector, everything is working fine. The mac is not able to discover the new display. It works fine on windows computers, but refuses to work on a mac.
Is there anyway of changing the settings or resolution so that the display can be found?

I'm seeing the same thing on my macbook running as a closed clamshell connected to an external keyboard/mouse/monitor. It boots OK but if it falls asleep I'm in trouble. The external keyboard/mouse will wake it, but only for a few seconds before it falls asleep again. The only way to get it awake is to open the MacBook and use it as a secondary monitor. Kind of irritating since I use the macbook in this configuration often. I've also set sleep on power adapter to "never" to try to avoid the problem, but the system doesn't seem to be honoring that setting.
I'm guessing this might be related to the "extensive graphics updates" in 10.5.5, as I've only really seen the issue crop up since 10.5.5.
