when i turn on my ipad and slide to unlock, i proceed to type in my password, but nothing appears in the bar where my password belongs and i cant get in

There are also reports of touchpad driver issues and since both the keyboard and touchpad run from the legacy PS/2 port it's possible that the problems are related...

I've done recent ios update on my IPad (2nd gen.) and now game center has stopped connecting. Just goes to blank white screen. Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...

Release the Buttons...
If no joy... Try a Restore...

IPhone 5 and iPad 2nd gen weak wifi pick up after iOs 8.0.2 update

Hi,
I have had my iPhone 5 since September 2012 when it first came out and had never have any problems with it with regards to picking up wifi signal. I had battery issues as the phone got older but it didn't really bother me and I had it sent over to Apple to have the sleep/wake button issue resolved about two weeks ago. Since then, I have purchased the iPhone 6 and gave my old iPhone to my husband. As I'm the one who deals with all the gadgets, I do the updating stuff. My iPhone 6 is on the latest iOs 8.0.2 and it doesn't have any problem whatsoever. My iPhone 5 and iPad 2nd gen (3g + wifi) also had the latest iOs update and both have recurring problems now. Both have problems picking up up wifi signals. Even when I have the iPhone 6 next to them, which has full bars (wifi), the two older gadgets are struggling to pick any signal at all. And if they actually get onto the internet, I only get 1 bar and the internet surfing on them are as sluggish as ever. The battery on the iPhone 5 has drastically gone downhill as well. I have tried to change the WPE/WPA2 connection on the router but it is still the same. I even tried to "Forget the network" and logged in manually again to no avail. The keychain thing on iCloud has been turned off but no change has been noticed. Is there anything else I can do to have this issue resolved? Thanks in advance!

I got the new ideapad yoga 2 yesterday. And this happens twice. When I awake the laptop from sleep model. I cannot type in password. The keyboard light turn on, but cannot work anymore. I have to sleep it again, then I can type again.

Yes, if you updated to iOS 7 you also got a new version of iBooks. The new iBooks app does not have the wooden shelf theme at all. The library has been re-styled for iOS 7 to be a plain white area listing your book or pdfs.

You should really read the manual.
"How do you restore from backup? "
Restore. When given the choice, choose to use backup.
"And how can I check to see if the pics and videos are on my computer somewhere first??"
They would only be where you put them. What program did you use to import them? Pics/vids taken with ipod are not part of the sync process at all. You should be importing them just as you would with any digital camera.
If you did not import them, then they are not on your computer.

IPad 2nd gen wifi suddenly not working

Hi, my 32gb 2nd gen iPad has been fine with wifi up until 2 days ago. I always had issues where every 20 minutes or so the wifi would drop out but it came back after seconds - this was a problem with my router anyway. However, 2 days ago it started not connecting to my wifi from my bedroom even though i have changed nothing, where it is normally at its strongest - my macbook and iphone are still fine here as well. I have taken it to a friends house to test it on his wifi and it is the same there, so is clearly an issue with the iPad and not the router. When I stand directly above the router it appears as 1 bar of signal, but this is hardly useable. I have restarted the iPad, updated to the latest software, synced it to my macbook and tryed the 'brightness trick' but this to no avail.
Please help me out otherwise i will have to put it on ebay as faulty - i can't cope without wifi! would be a shame to see it go, its been a great little device up until now

Updating a iPad 2nd gen? How do I get it pass 5.1?

This is my first time on this forum. Just like the topic question says. How? As I've got a 2nd gen iPad and it still works fine except for needing a newer update 6ios or later now. To use my apps and programs which really upsets me very much! I don't have the money to buy a newe one and don't want a newer one as this one still works. It is a waste of products to keep buying new crap every other year. So much waste.

OK, I have iPad THIRD gen. Just downloaded ios6. then, downloaded ios6 version of iPhoto... all went well until I tied to "enhance" a photo.. it's frozen on a screen that states "Updating Photo."

Go to the Home screen and double click the Home button. That will reveal the row of recently used apps at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold on the iphoto for ios app until it wiggles and displays a minus sign. Tap the minus sign to actually quit the app. Then tap anywhere on the screen above that bottom row to return the screen to normal. Then restart iPhoto for ios and see if it works normally.

I have a HP Laserjet P1102w printer hooked up to the USB port of my Airport Extreme. I'm able to print to the printer wirelessly from my MacBook Pro. My iPad (2nd gen) can't find the printer. What do I need to do?

My iPad is on the same network as the Airport Extreme. The HP printer is on the list of Airprint printers but I'm not using it as a wireless printer, per se, as it's hooked up to the USB port on the Airport Extreme.
I installed the HP ePrint app on my iPad. Unfortunately, the app could not find the printer either.
As mentioned earlier, I'm able to print wirelessly to the HP printer via my MacBook Pro.

Not necessarily. AirPrint uses a protocol separate from the communication protocol used for the Extreme's USB port. The HP printer may disable AirPrint when its USB port connected to a valid device, which is my reason for recommending you use it wirelessly.

AirPrint printers connected using Bluetooth or shared through a USB port of a Mac, PC, AirPort Base Station, or Time Capsule are not supported.
AirPrint printers connected by Ethernet are supported in OS X.

HP's Mac support has always been miserable though. I have been much happier since I abandoned HP and started buying Brother printers. They just work.

What I use it for really doesn't matter, since how I use my iPad and laptop is probably not how you would use yours.
Since you just want generic advice, I'd suggest you do a web search for "ipad versus laptop". You'll find a number of sites that discuss the tradeoffs and avantages for either option.
