IPad 3 + 4G - Rogers - No Service

I received my new iPad 3 64GB + 4G today however, after inserting the Rogers SIM card I received with it - I just get a NO SERVICE notification. Is there some sort of delay before the iPad will have access to the Rogers Network?
I have no option to setup a Rogers account because of this.
Any solutions or recommendations.

Sorry to hear that several of us are in the same situation. Just to clarify, I received a brand new SIM card with my new iPad.
I can't confirm, but I thought the new SIM was supposed to be specific to the Rogers LTE network. So it makes sense that perhaps the SIMs people are trying from their previous iPads aren't working. Also, I would have thought those cards would be somehow hard connected to the iPads they were activated on.
Hopefully someone from Apple or Rogers becomes aware of this thread. I'll try going to a Rogers Wireless store today, to see if they can help, but there seems to be an issue here.
I'd be curious to hear if any other Canadians have gotten their Rogers SIM cards to work.

iPads are not sold locked in the U.S. You can use a Verizon iPad on AT&T. However, you can't use an AT&T iPad on Verizon as those iPads are not in Verizon's databaase.

IPad 2 & iOS 8 = No Service

Are there any plans in the works to fix the No Service issue with iOS 8.0.2? Everyone was bent out of shape and it was an emergency when iPhones were affected by the 8.0.0 and 8.0.1 No Service bug but now that that is fixed I don't hear much urgency to fix the same issue on iPads.
Just to bring everyone up to speed, prior to the iOS 8 upgrade I had no issues with service. When I upgraded to 8.0.0, No Service became an issue 100% of the time. When I upgraded to 8.0.2, No Service is now an issue approx. 50% of the time and the device requires a power recycle to correct -- until it drops service again. I run into this 2-4 times a day and I'm not on 3G a whole lot during the day. Wi-Fi works great -- please don't "fix" Wi-Fi.
I see ads and hype from Apple about new iPads. You have zero percent chance of me upgrading to a newer iPad as long as I'm having iOS issues with my current device. I feel as if this bug is a marketing trick to force people to upgrade.

I have this issue. When the iPad 2 wakes up from sleep I get the no service. i have to reboot the ipad and this restores the service. When will Apple fix this, since this iPad is no longer being sold?

Yes, the cellular iPads function the same as the regular ones except that they have the cellular antenna. Just be sure to turn off cellular in your settings, right below WiFi and Bluetooth so you don't get charged if it is accidentally used, meaning you won't have WiFi everywhere anymore, unless you want to pay for a monthly plan again

My ipad mini 4g shows no service

I've had my ipad mini lte/4g on at&t for almost 6 months with no issues. now all of the sudden it just says no service no matter what I do. I'm hoping it's not the radio that went and I know it's not the sim card because the card works in other ipads/iphones. Wifi works no issues. Have tried over and over resetting network settings/hard reset. I am trying to avoid restoring because I'd prefer not to upgrade to 6.1.3, and i'm not sure that will even help it it's a hardware issue.
Any suggestions?

IPad 2 shows no cell service

A week or so after I upgraded my iPad 2 to IOS 8, it began showing no cell service, sometimes once per day, sometimes multiple times per day. I have found that the problem can be fixed by rebooting the iPad, but in the last couple of days, the iPad will show 3G service after rebooting but Safari and other apps will say that it has no internet connection. Rebooting again has solved the problem so far, but this is extremely annoying.

IPad App talking to web services

This is kind of a multi-part question.
To start with I have NEVER developed an iPad/iPhone or iAnything app before.
I have read a lot and loaded the SDK but have not yet started using any of it yet.
I have developed for 25+ years so I am more than capable of learning this environment but in a quick I am looking to get some help with something.
I was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of an iPad app template or open source code or something that I could use just as a proof of concept for a project I am working on.
The only real test is I need to have the app call a web service and display some data it gets back from that service.
Of course the real app would be much more complicated but I need to be able to prove it is doable.
I could possibly pay someone to help me with this project but I am really hoping to just get some self explanatory code and I can take it from there.
For example I can already develop the web service app and make changes to fit any requirments from the iPad app.
I just need a jump start with the iPad app code and how to load it on an iPad for testing and demoing for proof of concept.

etresoft pointed you in the right direction. In short, you form your request, send it to the server, receive the relpy, and parse the reply, that's pretty much all there is to it. There are libraries that help with some of the details. I've used ASIHTTPRequest http://allseeing-i.com/ASIHTTPRequest/ before with success but it hasn't been updated in a while. Some people recommend RESTKit http://restkit.org. If you control the server backend you can just return data in Apple property-list format directly and not have to go through JSON, but perhaps there's little difference since you stil need to deserialize into a foundation object (e.g., a dictionary).

Assuming you do not want to use AT&Ts international Data roaming rates, a Sim card from a local carrier with pay as you go service in each country should be all that is needed. If your iPad did not come with a Sim removal Tool, you can use a paper clip to eject the Sim Tray and place the sim card inside.

The SIM is the main thing you need. New SIM you should be fine. As far as the number, you can look that up yourself on the device in settings > general > about. It will either be blank or have a number. You can also try clearing things out following the suggestions in my post on the thread below.
