IPAD 3 Antenna Sensitivity for Cellular Signals.

My IPAD is deaf to celluar signals.
I know IPHONES are bad for cellular antenna sensitivity, but the IPAD 3 I have make them look like superstars.
With the IPHONE I get three bars on the signal and a marginal 4g or 3g connection.  The IPAD never connects.  Same spot, same option of 4g or 3g connection.
The Wi-Fi connection is fine.
Any ideas on how to fix this problem??  Is my IPAD unique or is this typical for the species?

I don't know whether it should matter technically, but there are separate plans for LTE data, even on "domestic iPad" plans. When I switched from an iPad 1 to an iPad 3 (also in March 2012) and wanted to get LTE, I had to switch to a plan called "250 MB of data for 30 days - LTE" (where previously it had been called "DOM 250 MB for 30 days"). Same price, same separate account, both plans prepaid, different plan name, different signal access. I'm still on the second plan.
AT&T changes rate plans from time to time. They may not be offering the "250 MB of data for 30 days - LTE" plan to new customers these days. If so, I must be grandfathered into the old plan. They do still offer a 3G session-based plan according to their website.
Disclaimer: I'm in a different AT&T area (former Southwestern Bell territory), so plans might differ in your area.

  • EA6900 Antenna's for maximum signal and low noise

I noticed when I was hooking up the antennas that I had to be careful they were fully screwed on. When tightening they felt like they are all the way on but weren't.
If you have a wireless antenna whose connector isn't all the way on it lowers the wireless signal and creates significant radio noise. The higher the frequency the worse it is.
Please remember to Kudo those that help you.

    Hi markemerson,
As far as I know, Linksys do have a high gain antenna, model number HGA7T. It has been tested to work with older routers listed from this LINK but i'm not pretty sure if it has been tested to work with the newer models like the EA6900.

  • Can I get an Ipad with wifi and cellular but no contract with a carrier in the US?  I want to use it overseas in Africa with a local SIM card and use the cellular signal for all my internet.

Yes you can.  All Ipad's are unlocked and can be used any where in the world. Buy the AT&T version which is GSM in other countries

  • If I buy a ipad mini with cellular, and not sign up for cellular service, can I use the onboard GPS, or does it depend on the cell signal since it is aGPS

If I buy a ipad mini with cellular, and not sign up for cellular service, can I use the onboard GPS, or does it depend on the cell signal since it is aGPS?

Right. But as I understand it, the aGPS is a function that speeds location using cell signals, but isn't necessary for the GPS signal. I can buy a plugin device that is a real GPS that I can use with my iPad mini. However, I would need an app for maps. I was wondering if anyone had used one of these.

  • Ipad 2 very bad sensitivity to wifi signals

Why the sensitivity to wifi signal is far better with macbooks than with my ipad 2 (wifi - 3G).
In fact in certain locations the ipad doesnot recognize at all a signal that is Ok for the macbook ?
Any solution or shall I live with that strong weakness.
    Thanks
    Marc

iPad 2, Since upgrading to iOS 8.0.2  the cellular signal indicates I do not have a SIM card. Monday spent hours on the phone with Apple support, backed up my iPad, reset all settings, reloaded my iPad and it still tells me I don't have a SIM card. Tuesday went to AT&T and got a new SIM card on the advice of apple support. It worked perfect until this morning and the NO SIM CARD notice reappeared. Never ever had any problem until the upgrade. I find it inexcusable that Apple refuses to address the issues they caused, iOS 8.0.2 is the Ebola of iPad 2 world. I dont have any cellular service after wasting two days trying to address and fix a problem Apple is responsible for. It's obvious Steve Jobs is no longer running the company. Furious & fustrated. How does Apple expect anyone who uses an iPad 2 for work, to remain a customer who will return to their products?

  • Is there an antenna booster for wifi for ipad???

Looking to boost my wifi range.  Is there an antenna booster for wifi for ipad

There is no such thing for the iPad AFAIK.  You could, however, get a signal booster for your wireless router.

  • We have 2 iPad 2's. For one of them it must be very close to the router to pick up a wifi signal. We have restarted and reset it without success. Help!

We have 2 iPad 2's. For one of them it must be very close to the router to pick up a wifi signal. We have restarted and reset it without success. Using 7.1.1.

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at
    http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

  • I just signed up for cellular service for my iPad but it will not connect

I just signed up for cellular service for my iPad but it will not connect.  Verizon told me to turn off wifi, switch the unit off and back on.  It's just 'searching'.  What do I do?

Try Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings

What does MM stand for in the ipad mini and ipad 4th gen description (wifi+cellular) ?

I think it must stand for "made of money" because this 4th generation ipad model 1460 is the most expensive.

  • Estimated delivery dates for iPad 4 with wifi and cellular UK

I have ordered the new iPad 32gb With wifi and cellular data and on my account it just says late November. Is there any way to find out a more specific date as I am going away and want to take it with me?? Would I have to ring Apple and ask?

    No one here will know
I doubt ringing will change anything as Apple
will update orders as soon as they can see supply to apply to the orders
You will find the number for UK on the  order document

  • My Ipad's repeatedly  asking for activation and can't be activate through cellular data, what could I do?

MY Ipad's repeatedly asking for activation, even though I activated 20 times, not kidding! And the worst is I can't activate it through cellular data, for no good reason. Yes, I checked the setting for the cellular data about itunes and so on. I also tried to reboot, to remove and put back the sim card. I also tried to send a request to apple support, but the f... button in the email sent doesn't work. I'm kind of ****** off, cause I couldn't use my ipad all the last evening till I get to a wifi zone... What the **** is going on with Apple? It's getting worst and worst... I have a ipad retina, not the last generation, but the one before... Not sure which number it is though.

I understand the question fully. Your issue is that the activation does not seem to be registering nor working properly (which is why you keep being asked to activate it). Maybe activating through Wi-Fi will activate the iPad properly since as you say yourself, "I can't activate the Ipad by cellular data." I don't think it would much more trouble to try it through Wi-Fi and could very well solve your issue.
A question does not come up though...which activation are you actually talking about? The initial activation of the iPad for use (when you are first setting up the device) or the activation for cellular data with the device's cellular data carrier for use on the device? My initial response was for the first scenario.

  • If I was going to buy a Refurbished iPad mini 2 Wi-Fi   Cellular for AT

if I was going to buy a Refurbished iPad mini 2 Wi-Fi + Cellular for AT&T 32GB from Apple store can I get a Apple SIM to change it to Verizon.

Go buy yourself a iPhone 5. Sync your iPhone 3GS to iTunes on you computer so you have a back up ready to put on the iPhone 5. If you want you can update your iPhone 3GS with iTunes on your computer, but this is not necessary.

I need one Ipad 128Gb with Retina iPad (3rd generation) Wi-Fi + Cellular (Black colour), where should I approach in Delhi/NCR for this product? I am unable to find this in Croma and other retailers.
i need one very urgently for my day to day work. Can anyone suggest from where I can get a new piece(boxed) on or before 11 March 2013? As this is already launched in India in Jan month, but still not available with retailers, might be because of less demand of this very product.
Any help will be much appriciated.
    Waiting for some clue.

The 3rd Generation iPad does not come in 128GB capacity, only 16, 32, and 64GB capacities.
The 4th generation iPad does come in 128GB capacity.
