Ipad 3 crash during boot sequence

My Ipad will not start.it restarts over and over again, If charging both adapter and Ipad get really warm. Seems to loop.
Trying to connect to iTunes gives 0xE8000068 (can download pictures from windows, but not access iPad.
IOS5
So would like to reset, re-install or anything just to get it up and running again, what to do. (backup is there if I can get to restore option, but do not get that far...)

Did you ever jailbreak or hack your iPad?  Sometimes, the error 3194 occurs if this has happened.
If not, this writeup should help:

Yesterday I received an automatic software update. Today it crashes during boot up. This is what I see:

The two hardware issues that come to mind are loose or unseated ram module(s) and resetting the SMC. There have been quite a few folks reporting an issue with a unseated ram module that reinstalling fixed.

  • The screen of my iMac flashes green during boot-sequence, then returns to normal.

During the boot-sequence the screen of my Imac 27" flashes green (once), then returns to normal. This does not happen when I boot my Windows (Bootcamp) partition, so I assume this is some kind of OSX driver error. This started to happen only after I installed the latest patch (10.9.3). Did anybody else encounter this and/or knows how to get rid of it ?

  • VIA Raid 0: Red screen of Death - fatal error during boot sequence

I have been using two Maxtor 120GB SATA drives in a RAID 0 array on my Athlon 64 MSI MB.  I have occasionally had messages saying "Hard disk error. Can't find drive 0".  I've assumed that this has been a driver issue because if I power down, wait a while I can reboot and continue without issue (other than chkdsk running during boot up).  However after the last such error, when I next tried to reboot I got an error message as the RAID was initialising.  The error message was in a red box on a black screen and stated that there was a fatal error and that the raid relationship and all HHD would be destroyed if I continued.  Naturally I switched off at this point, but on rebooting got exactly the same message.  Eventually, as I have backups, I continued past this point and sure enough the RAID had gone.  So I rebuilt the raid array and everything seems to be OK.
However, I'd forgotten that my MSI DVD burner was incapacitated due to a failed firmware update so had temporaril;y replace it with a DVD rom drive to get access to my backups.  BUT the drive won't read all my backup discs, in particular it won't read the Drive C backups .
Has anyone else had this RAID erro.  Is it a driver error or is it a dsik failing (even though they were new at Christmas).

Raids do not really help benchmarks unless you considure hard drive benchmarks. Most games and benchmark proggies load everything they need prior to running. So unless you have a low memory condition that forces the game or benchmark to use the swap file the only place that you would typically see any gain in speed is during the loading of the game or benchmark. That is hard to quantify other than through experience.
Where a raid shines is in file tranfer situations. When you create and save large files such as movies, Reading or copying large files, defragging, or any other massive file effort. Overall the gains can be very small compaired to the rest of what you do with your system. However that is not to belittle what a Raid does. It does give a finer sheen to the overall computers operations and will make sluggish file transfers seem much more bearable overall.

  • X58 Pro BIOS Crash during Boot

    Hi All,
I have recently assembled a system with X58 Pro board and Core i7 920. It was working fine for 3 months except that it started having BIOS crashes since last night. The issue is that the mainbaord lights would be on without the POST screen and within few seconds the system resets automatically. The same procedure happens for about 4-6 cycles and on the 7th cycle i get a message on screen saying the previous overclocking has failed and the BIOS is reset to default settings. Post then the system boots up normal and works just fine. But once the system is shut down and when the system is switched on(cold boot) I get the same problem. I have also noticed that a month back the CPU clock had jumped from default 2.66 to 2.67 automatically without any overclocking and just couple of weeks after that the clock rose up to 2.87. It has remained like that until the BIOS crash issue. All these happened without any manual overclocking.  I was wondering how can this happen automatically unless the clock speeds are adjusted manually. That was quiet strange though. Neways after this issue(BIOS Crash) popped up the clock speed is back to 2.67 than the default 2.66. Weird again. The BIOS version is the default one(V7.0) that was shipped with the mainboard. I tried to M-Flash the BIOS to V7.3(after reading couple of postings from the forum) but without success. The same problem still persists. I have done the following things after going through the forums regarding the issue.
    1. Cleared CMOS using the clear CMOS button(With power chord unplugged)
    2. Tried M-Flashing to V7.3 (Not sure whether the BIOS was updated during the process)
I kindly request all of you so provide some solutions so as to get my system back to normalcy. Your worthwhile suggestions would be really appreciated. The system config is mentioned below
    Core i7 920 @ 2.66 GHz
    MSI X 58 Pro - BIOS Version 7.0
    Corsair 6 GB(3 x 2 Gigs) DDR3 @ 1066 MHz (installed on the black slots currently)
    EVGA GeForce GTX 295 1.7 GB GDDR3
    Tagan 1100 W PSU
    2 x 1 TB Seagate Sata HDD @ 7200 RPM w 32 MB cache
    Sony Optiarc DVD-RW Drive
    Windows XP 64Bit SP2
Looking forward for some positive solutions

    Hey NovJoe,
Thanks a lot for your reply. I have done as per your suggestion and the system works fine now. Pretty interesting though. During the individual RAM tests i did not face any BIOS crashes and i thought the MOBO DIMM SLOTS would be faulty. So i installed the second RAM strip on the second slot worked fine and finally the third one and works fine too. I am really wondering wht had happened in the first place. Was that due to any dirt or dust in the memory and DIMM contacts? Well neways i am kinda relieved now. But i wanna make sure that everything works fine. What types of tests do you suggest to make sure that the system is working almost fine??
    Thanks a lots
    Regards
    Rahul

  • Windows blue screen of death crash during Boot Camp driver install

I have been trying to get Windows running under Boot Camp on my 2.66 GHz Alu iMac, but without success.
Boot Camp partitions the drive and Windows XP SP2 installs properly. I boot into Windows, and then insert my Leopard install DVD to install the Apple drivers.
The driver installation gets about halfway, then the machine crashes with a blue screen of death and restarts automatically. It puts me back in Windows, with no drivers installed.
I am installing the Boot Camp drivers from the Leopard retail DVD. This machine is missing the Leopard install/restore discs that came with it, and Apple want to charge £99 for a replacement set.
Is there any way I can get the Boot Camp drivers installed, or do I need to find a friend with the exact same machine and original system discs and use those?

    Aloha Adam.
Don't know whether this is helpful, but below is a list of drivers that are installed (as of Aug 08).
Also, if you have not already, you may find FAQ helpful, as well, at URL: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1656
Lastly, though they're a year old, the Update 2.1 is in .exe format, so if you can get it the .exe download package onto your installed Windows OS somehow (e.g., copied onto a CD, IF Windows can read it), you might stand a chance of alternate means of installing the drivers.
If this helps, please so indicate.

Is the IMAQ board in the computer when this crash occurs? Do the crash occur if the boasrd is out of the computer. If you can boot without the board in, you probably have a bad board. If it still does not boot, can you boot in safe mode and uninstall the driver or it won't even let you select which mode to boot in?

  • IPad 2 crashes during iOS update

Every time I try to update my IPad 2 iOS (This is based on previous iOS updates - I have not attempted iOS 5), the download/update crashes and my iPad becomes unrecognizable to my PC.  I have even had to reboot my PC and try to re-sync the IPad 4-5 times to get the PC to recognize the iPad and to get the restore/update process to finally work.

  • Mountain Lion hangs during boot sequence after reinstall

I am running Mountain Lion on a late-2012 Mac Mini (the newest one at this writing), and my system got messed up after I tried to reset my primary uid to 501 (I know, first mistake) after having migrated the system from an older Mac Mini.  This worked partially, but I continued to have issues accessing some files and got tired of resetting the permissions manually.
I tried reinstalling Mountain Lion and since then, the system fails to boot completely.  I can get as far as seeing the desktop, Finder menu, Dock, etc., but then one or more error windows pop up relating to specific resources (I think Calendar Agent was one of them, I can't remember because I then saw the spinning disk icon and the system stopped responding).  I tried restarting by turning the computer off and then on again, but continue to get similar errors after it gets almost all the way through booting.
Although I have much of my data on the hard drive backed up to an external Seagate drive on my home network, I had not been able to do a complete backup because I have many old (pre-OS X) files that contain slashes or other characters no longer allowed in filenames, and it has proven too cumbersome to update all the filenames to make it worthwhile.  Thus, I am not able to wipe the hard drive and start from scratch.
I know how to boot in Single-User mode, which does work, but don't know enough BSD/Darwin to pinpoint the source of this problem and fix it.
Any advice about how to diagnose and/or solve this problem?  I would like to be able to correct any uid and gid conflicts that may be causing this, which I believe would work, but am not sure how to do this.  I am writing this from Safari after booting in Recovery mode.
Thanks for any help with this.  - Klingon725

    Back up all data.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. To do that, unlock the preference pane using the credentials of an administrator, check the box marked Allow user to administer this computer, then reboot. You can demote the problem account back to standard status when this step has been completed.
Triple-click the following line to select it. Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    { sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR.. ; sudo chown -Rh $UID:staff ~ $_ ; sudo chmod -R u+rwX ~ $_ ; chmod -R -N ~ $_ ; } 2> /dev/null
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
The first step should give you usable permissions in your home folder. This step will restore special attributes set by OS X on some user folders to protect them from unintended deletion or renaming. You can skip this step if you don't consider that protection to be necessary.
Boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at startup. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
    Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
In the Terminal window, type this:
    resetpassword
That's one word, all lower case, with no spaces. Then press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not  going to reset a password.
Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select
     ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.

  • Flash CS5 Crashes During Image Sequence Import

    Hi,
I have a problem importing image sequences. I have an image sequence of 300 frames, 1280x720. They are JPEG images with a size of around 40kb per image, 11 MB in total. Usually it gets to around 270 frames telling from the status bar.
Sometimes I've managed to import all 300 frames. I've tried with totally different image sequences too. 100 images and even 200 is most of the time fine.
What could this be about? right now it's stopping me from working. Is Flash really this unstable? This can hardly be a performance issue.

How much RAM do you have?
Try a fresh reboot, don't open any apps except Flash (after windows finishes loading) and try your import.

  • App on ipad keeps crashing during update, can't delete it or sync ipad

It's a game off of Big Fish Games, called The Red Riding Hood Sisters: Dark Parables. I was able to load it properly and play it for a bit. When it asked me to update it, I did, but it barely started before it said it couldn't be updated. It's still shaded though, and every time I click on it, it says it's unable to download. It doesn't give any reason. Because of this, I can't sync anything on my ipad. It's constantly on step three of transferring my purchases in itunes, and I can't edit any apps that I downloaded after this started happening.
Note that I have the first genertion ipad, so there is a chance that it's just too old and I have to give it up. I don't actually expect Apple to pay any attention to anyone who doesn't buy their new things...

  • MSI Z68A-GD55 (B3): Crashes during boot - USB kboard input on dual boot screen

    Hi,
My system has 1 HDD with 3 bootable partitions.  When I boot my PC i have the standard OS selection screen where i tell BIOS what operating system to boot.  All three operating systems are windows 7 professional.
My issue is that on this screen you have to use a keyboard to select the operation system/partition to boot from.  I can get this screen to become completely unresponsive simply by pushing the down arrow too many times.  Sometimes if i push it once the screen will become unresponsive, sometimes i have to push a key 10 times, but it happens.
My MSI drivers are 100% up to date as of the 6th of March.
I believe this is a BIOS bug.
    BIOS is E7681IMS V22.6
Live update says everything is up to date.
    Regards,
    Tim

When the system is unresponsive, have you try to press the capslock button or numlock button and see if the lights on the keyboard is responding to your keypress?

    Hello,

It must have something to di with the /etc/nsswitch.conf. Wenn I change the settings to use ldap, I can't login anymore. As sone as I switch back to the old nsswitch.conf everything ist working. Can someone tell me how to get the ldap-client working together with dbus?

I found out what it is, but I don't understand it. The server is configured to use tls. All other clients use the clientoption "ssl start_tls" in /etc/nss_ldap.conf. On the new archlinux the ldapclient woun't work with tls. As sone as I deactrivate this option the client established the connection.:/
