IPad 3 doesn't sync all photos

Hi everyone,
I just bought a new iPad 3 and have a problem that it didn't sync all of my photos from my PC. I have a folder with 2143 photos inside, all is .JPG, 13.9GB but it always sync about 50% of that. I've tried syncing again many many times, try deleting the "iPod Photo Cache" folder too but the problem still remains.
I also tried spliting that photos into multiple folders and sync all folders but the problem even get worse: the photos are put in the wrong name folders (in iPad) and not all photos are synced, again.

Thanks for reporting the photo problem.  I am interested in such comments.  I too am getting frustrated with
the use of my new Ipad 3 but for a different reason.  I haven't even tried to sync photos yet. My frustration comes from receiving Yahoo Email with attachments and not being able to open the attachments.  I went into the
[mail, calendar,...] settings to setup the two different Emails that I use.  They are Gmail and Yahoo.  I have strong
Wi-Fi signal in my home.  I have a PC desktop for my main computer.  I receive all of my mail perfectly with no problems opening attachments.  I will be the first to admit that I am not up on Tech stuff and what makes it all work.  But it just seems like this Ipad doesn't make life easier, just more frustrating.
I am also thinking about taking my Ipad 3 back for a full refund.  Maybe in the future I will read about how problems like yours and mine are resolved with clear instructions on what to do.  Thanks again Johneo1 and others who have already reported their frustrations.  TLPutnam

  • IPad doesn't sync all photos + earlier iPhoto versions work with iPad

    1. I have my iPad set to sync with iPhoto, but the iPad doesn't have all of the photos that are in iPhoto. I get a message that it can't sync IMG_0026.JPG so I wonder if when that photo is reached the sync just stops. Could this be the reason?
    2. Also as these problems started after my most recent iPhoto 8.1.x update and for other reasons, I'm planning on dumping iPhoto 8 and going back to an earlier version such as iPhoto 5. Is anyone here using iPhoto 5 or 6 with their iPad?

OK. I removed the photo and everything else seems to have synced fine. So question 1 is answered.
    Now what about question #2?

  • Two iPhones, iPAD and iCloud to sync all photo's ?

    Hi all
This might have been asked before so my apologies in advance.
My wife and myslef each own a iPhone4s with iCloud and we also own an iPad2
Is it possible for me and my wife's photo's to sync, via iCloud, to the iPad ?

I would not recommend it but yes it can be done. Essentially you would set up the for example your iCloud account on your wifes phone and then under mail contacts and calendars in the setting for your accunt on her phone you would turn everything except photostream. Then you would add her account on you phone do the same thing. Be careful though because this has the potential to add all your contacts together and screw backups up. I would highly advise not to do this and just send the pictures between you two when needed.
    Good luck!

  • IPad 2 won't sync all photos

My brand new iPad 2 with iOS 5 will ONLY SYNC the 35/937 photos I told it to sync. I have 7.7 GB available. I connect my iPad 2 to iTunes 10.5 and have the following checked under summary:
    Manually Manage Music and Videos
Sync only checked songs and videos
    Sync this iPad over Wi-Fi
    Open iTunes when...
When I go to the Photos tab, I have selected the following:
Sync Photos from: 'iPhoto' (Version 9.2)
    Selected Albums, events, etc.
Then I have a few albums, events, and faces selected
    I click APPLY and SYNC.
iTunes begins to sync and finishes in a few seconds.
I unlock my iPad and view the photos to make sure they are there. Only 35 are available (excluding Camera Roll and Photo Stream).
iTunes doesn't even say I have any photos on my iPad 2.
    What is going on?
    Why is this happening?
    How can I fix it?

    Here's one. Give more information.
Before anyone can help, they need information to work with. Basic stuff:
    - What version of iPhoto.
    - What version of the Operating System.
    - Details. What were you doing when the problem arose?
    - Did it ever work properly?
    - Are there error messages?
    - What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
Anything else you can think of that might allow someone else to understand your issue.
With this kind of information somebody can develop a starting point for troubleshooting the issue.
Posts that consist of "iPhoto doesn't work. Help" or "iPhoto won't print" or "Suddenly I have no photos!!!!!!!!!!" mean that any helper is simply guessing. With information, s/he may be able to get your issue resolved sooner.

  • How do you sync all photos to new ipad

how do I sync all photos to new ipad?  I did a restore to copy apps and setting.  Then did a sync. Music is synced and all apps appear to have their data.  But there are only 2 photo albums.

All photo albums have to reside in iTunes to be synced.  They are then synced up to your IOS device when you slect apply..
You need to go to your iTunes device photo tab and select the Itunes photo albums you want uploaded and then tap apply in the lower right corner.
    Cheers

I have ample space left on my iPad, and in iTunes I have selected the option to sync "All photos, albums, Events, and Faces". The sync completes without giving any error, but many photos do not show up on my iPad. I've tried several times. Any idea what could be causing this? Thank you.

  • The New iPad will not sync all photo's

I picked up the new iPad yesterday at the Apple store and am having a problem getting it to sync all of my photo library.
Im using iTunes on Windows 7 to sync the "My Pictures" folder to the iPad.
It will sync some but not all of the folders in the "My Pictures". I have deleted the "iPod Photo Cache" folder, that did not help.
I have 2 iPhones and 2 older iPad 1's  which sync the photo's just fine.

Maybe, although I always thought there was a threshold for each device below which it wouldn't have to create an "optimized" (re-sized) version.  You'd think this would be a high number for the New iPad, giving the screen resolution.  For example, my re-sized (3072 on the long edge) pictures aren't being optimized before tranfer -- they're just copying over and they work just fine.
Who knows.  I just got off the phone with a tier-2 AppleCare rep (I found this thread while we were on the phone), and he indicated he would pass this thread along to the engineers.  It's a pretty obvious bug somewhere in the mix, and one I suspect they'll be all over right away, given the attractiveness of the new iPad to photography types.

  • ITunes re-syncs all photos even if they haven't changed

I've found that when syncing my iPhone or iPad, some times, iTunes decides to resync all the photos on the device (i.e. wipe and the sync again).
I've not changed any of the photos so am not sure what's triggering this.
My configuration is set up to simply sync all photos from one of my folders (iPod Photos)
The strange thing is that this issue seems to occure randomly - i.e. doesn't happen every time I sycn.
Anyone have any ideas why this would be happening?
    thanks

I don't have a solution, but I can take a guess at what's going on.
My photos are on a shared folder in the Cloud (Mozy Sync).  There are two laptops in the family that access this folder on a regular basis (husband and wife).  Each laptop has iTunes installed.  Wife syncs her iPhone to her laptop using her instance of iTunes.  Husband syncs his iPhone to his laptop using his instance of iTunes.
Whether the pictures are re-synced depends on who synced last.  For example, if Wife synced last, and Husband syncs, all the pictures are reloaded from scratch.  Now, if Husband syncs again, only the changed pictures are loaded.  But if Wife syncs next, all of the pictures are reloaded from scratch.
My theory is that the two instances of iTunes are fighting over the thumbnails in the folder iPod Photo Cache. Thumbnails are scaled-down versions of the picture files that take up less storage space, but are suitable for display on the iPhone's screen.  If Wife was the last person to sync, Husband's iTunes doesn't recognize the thumbnails, so it proceeds to erase them and rebuild them.  However, if Husband performs the next sync, his iTunes recognizes the thumbnails and syncs only items that changed.
If this is the problem, then the question is:  How do I get both instances of iTunes to share the same thumbnails without re-creating them each time?  Alternately, can I  have two instances of the iPod Photo Cache, one for Wife and one for Husband?
    Is this resonating with anyone?

  • The ipad won't sync some photos, saying the file can't be read by the ipad, however it will sync some photos taken at the same time which are the same size and file type.  Why does it reject some and accept others?

The ipad won't sync some photos, saying the file can't be read by the ipad, however it will sync some photos taken at the same time which are the same size and file type.  Why does it reject some and accept others?

Hi there. I'm having the same problem: my iPad won't import some photos from a folder, saying that they can't be read. They are all JPEGS and some photos taken at the same time have synched fine, but out of a folder with 200 photos, it only lets me synch 37. I'm synching albums created via Photoshop Elements 6, which has worked fine until now.
I've tried deleting all photos and re-synching, and have also deleted the iPod Photo Cache, but it hasn't made a difference.
The iPad auto-updated to the latest version of iTunes, so maybe that's what's causing it?
    Any advice gratefully received!

  • IPhone won't sync all photos

Photo syncing has worked perfectly for over a year then suddenly my iPhone doesn't sync all my photos. Everything in iTunes is set to sync all, there is space on the device and sync'ing seems successful. But I have about 1000 more photos in iPhoto than now appear on my iPhone. I have tried deleting all photos and starting again, but to no avail.
Anyone got any thoughts - this is seriously annoying!
    iTunes v.9.1.1 iPhone OS 3.1.3 (3G)

Try this: Launch isync from your applications folder, make sure that itunes is NOT running, under preferences, reset sync history. Give it a minute to run, once complete, re-boot your computer. Launch itunes, connect your phone, the photos that won't sync, are they in a separate album or lumped together with all the other photos? If they are in a separate album, un-check that album in itunes followed by hitting apply. Once itunes does its thing, re-check that album, followed by hitting apply. See if they sync now. If they are all lumped together, just try syncing again...although without deleting the cache again that might not work, but give it a go anyway.

  • Can not sync all photos in Aperture into Iphone 5

I can not sync all photos in Aperture into Iphone 5. It always can sync some photos into 5. Then finish and prompts: "itunes can not synchronize (other)thousands of projects, and see more information in itunes".  That means most of my photos can not seen on Iphone 5, it seems just can't import to 5. Is that the problem of Iphone or the pictures in Aperture, or even just because lack of sufficient space?

  • My iphone 4S doesn't sync my photos in itunes

please help... my iphone 4S used to sync my photos in my pc thru itunes but about a month ago... it doesn't sync my photos anymore... i've been searching online for solutions & how can i resolve this problem... please help... thank you in advance

iTunes only syncs photos one way: from your computer to your phone.  If that is what you are trying to do, make sure you have selected to sync photos on the photos tab of your iTunes sync settings, including any folders containing the photos you want transferred to your phone, then sync.

  • Have synced all photos from pc. how to delete unwanted photos on  iphone?

i did not realise i was syncing all photos in my pc to my iphone. there is a lot of junk photos. but i cannot see how to delete them off my iphone. help please

    This is the reason.
Photos in your iPhone's camera roll are not included with the iTunes sync process except for being included with your iPhone's backup, which is created and updated by iTunes as the first step during the sync process.
Photos transferred from your computer to your iPhone via the iTunes sync process, which is selected under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences are not transferred to your iPhone's camera roll.
Photos in your iPhone's camera roll are photos that were captured by your iPhone, or photos saved from a received email or from a website. Photos in your iPhone's camera roll can be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera.
With a Mac, this can be done with iPhoto if you use iPhoto for importing photos from a digital camera and for photo storage and management on your Mac, or with the Image Capture application located in your Applications folder. Both include an option to delete the photos from your iPhone's camera roll after the import process is complete. If you don't want to save these photos, you can delete the photos from iPhoto or from your designated location where the imported photos are saved if you use the Image Capture application for the import.
