Ipad 3 email can't receive or send mail

My ipad3 retina display running on ios6 suddenly can't receive or send email anymore. I was trying to open pdf attachment in my email and got blank screen. Restart email and reboot my ipad, email still didn't come back. Anybody have the same problem?

It sounds as if you need to speak to your university's IT department to get instructions for properly connecting your Mac to their LAN and getting email service. It is some security protocol that you are not able to properly engage I think.

  • Can't receive or send mail: Password rejected

    Hi there.
Every time I try and open Mail, I get asked to enter my password for account ".mac account" and told the .mac server "mail.mac.com" has rejected the password for user xxx. I'm asked to re-enter the password. This has happened before when the server is having problems but usually rights itself within a few hours (Re-entering the password never makes any difference.) This time however it's been 5 days, and although I can access my mail at mobileme it's a real pain.
Does anyone have any suggestions about what I can do to get my mail back?
    Many thanks

Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move these folder & file to the Desktop.
Move this Folder to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
Move this file to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
    Reboot.

  • On my IPad email doesn't work anymore. I can't receive or send mails anymore.

My IPad, 18 GB, ioS 8.02
I don't know why, but all of a sudden my email doesn't work at all anymore. I can't send or receive mails. When I push the icon mail button, I see only a blank page. I see only the first line for answering, forwarding or writing new mails. But if I try to push one of those buttons, nothing happens.
My IPad knowledge is not so good. So I didn't try anything to repare it.
i would appreciate your help very much.

    Consider updating iOS to 8.2
Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.
Delete and re-add the email account.

  • Just did a Firmware Update and can't receive or send mail

I just did a firmware update as recommended by Apple:
    2008-04-13 18:30:24 -0400: Installed "Aluminum Keyboard Firmware Update" (1.0)
    2008-04-13 18:30:32 -0400: Installed "iMac EFI Firmware Update" (1.3)
I had restarted my iMac and noticed that my Mail 3.2 will no longer connect to my mail servers and send or receive mail.
My internet connection is fine when using my browser. I closed and restarted "Mail" and this didn't help and even restarted my computer but that didn't help either.
Anyone else that just did this update have a similar issue? Anyone know of a fix? I don't think I can undo the Firmware update now, so what do I do?
    Thanks

  • TS4002 @icloud address can't receive or send mail

I can't get any maiol action with the @icloud address.  The @mac and @me still work.  Anyone else having this problem?

I haven't actually heard of anyone receiving this notification email, although a few people, including myself, have found that our @icloud.com email addresses are working both for incoming and outgoing mail already.
To me that suggests that Apple aren't notifying people on a one-by-one basis as their email address becomes active, rather they will send the same 'blanket' email to everyone once everyone's email addresses is ready.

No, you can stop using the account, but you cannot delete it.

  • How can I receive a "send receipt" for email I send?

How can I receive a "send receipt" when I send email?

You'll essentially get a "Send Receipt" immediately after sending as the message will appear in your Sent mailbox.
If you are looking for a "read reciept," It is pretty much not supported by Mail. You can set up a header for all outgoing email which will attempt to intrude on your recipients' privacy, but it will be for all emails.
Also, many email clients will not respond to a read receipt, including Mail. Even if they will respond to a read receipt, the default setting is uaually to ask the user prior to sending. So, there is no guarantee you will ever get a read receipt.
I have no idea if this still works: http://email.about.com/od/macosxmailtips/qt/et_request_recp.htm
If it is really that important to you, add a sentence to your signature explaining the great necessity that you need to invade your recipient's privacy and that they need to respond immediately to let you know they've read your email.

I have an email account through yahoo. I am having trouble setting it upon my iPhone and can't receive or send emails!!!! I contacted Rogers and they said I need to find out the host name of the incoming server, in other words yahoos host name. Help!!

Yahoo's servers are notoriously unreliable. Use the "Yahoo" account type when setting it up. If it doesn't work, and you are positive the credentials are correct, wait a while and try again.
While you're waiting, set up a free gmail or iCloud email account.

  • Email settings don't work, can't receive or send email

No matter how many times I change my Outlook email settings for Verizon, the new settings have never worked.  I used to be able to at least receive email, but for many months I have not been able to send email.  I have called support and emailed Verizon and no one has been able to help.
So now as of 11/11/2013, I can't receive or send email and I have tried to change my settings to the new settings, and nothing works.  I have gone to verizon.com/emailsettings for step by step instructions, all to no avail.
I also have comcast.net and my own website email in Outlook  and now NONE of my email accounts work as of 11/11/2013.  It appears Verizon is the key to my problems.
    Any thoughts?

Verizon should have no impact on your ability to use Outlook with your comcast.com account.  Verizon is only providing the pipe to Comcast, and I can get there there just fine.  Something must have been changed in your Outlook setup for your Comcast account (which is separate from the settings for your Verizon account) or Comcast must have changed something that broke your Comcast settings.
If you provide your exact Outlook settings (inbound and outbound including servier names, ports, and SSL settings), perhaps someone can help.
Also, can you successfully use the Verizon webmail to access your mailbox?

  • HT3748 Can't receive or send emails on Exchange using Mail 5.3 (and system 10.7)

I have two Macs, one running on 10.6 and the other on 10.7 systems. I can receive and send Exchange emails on the 10.6 (mail 4.6) computer but not from the 10.7 (Mail 5.3) computer. The Account summary and set up is the same but I can not receive or send. I checked the account activities, all green. Checked the connection doctor, all green. Deleted adn re created the email account, the server accepted, yet I am still can't receive or send emails from the computer with 10.7 system. Any suggestions.

Hi Latoque,  yes I did try to change it in both places but it doesn't seem  to retain it for the Outgoing server. When I go to Preferences> Account information,  the Incoming server password it very obvious but the Outgoing server password is not. While still on the Account information page I go down to the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): section and click on the two V's at the end of the entry and then click on the Edit SMTP Server List.....I then click on Advanced tab and enter the Outgoing password there below my User Name. I believe I am entering it in the correct place however it does not stay there and there is no reminder to Save when you exit the page. Please correct me if I an not entering the  password in the right place. Thanks

  • Since "upgrading" to OSX ML, I can't receive or send email. Why?

Since "upgrading" to OS X Mountain Lion, I can't receive or send emails in my @icoud or @me mail accounts and when I delete old messages in the Inbox, they come back the next time I check the Inbox. oes anyone know why the mail is this screwed-up? I've been forced to reroute all of my mail to my windows Outlook account to receive them.

Go to System Preferences > iCloud and make sure your account info is correct, delete the password and reenter to be sure it is clean.  Go to Mail and then open Preferences and check the account informaiton for the iCloud account and again, delete and reenter the password for the account.  Sometimes the passwords get garbled during an upgrade.
