IPad 3, iOS 8, Safari tabs loading issue

Specs: iPad 3 (Wifi), iOS 8.0.2, 2/32 GB free
Safari is practically unusable since I installed iOS 8. Tabs either take forever to load, don't load (blank page), partially load (cut-off blank page), or reload constantly with as little as two tabs and no other apps open. My friend's iPhone 4, FOUR, does an immensely better job with multiple tabs open or, heck, loading a single tab....
It doesn't look like upgrading to iOS 7 from 8 is an option. I've tried restarting my iPad, closing all background apps, and clearing site data. Any other suggestions?
iOS 7 and older users beware, I wouldn't touch iOS 8 with a 12" iPhone Plus.

I too would like to thank Apple for ruining my iPad 3 with iOS 8.  I called Apple support and they told be to do a restore. It is still frustrating seeing the delays and apps not functioning right.

  • IOS 7 Safari tab major bug

So I run a white iPhone 5S and I recently started looking into what I thought was a faulty screen.. every time I reopened a tab in safari (usually dark images) white fuzzy dots/lines would jolt around the edges of the screen, sometimes bleeding across horizontally. It wasn't until recent research that I saw some feedback on iOS 7 Safari tabs (in the beta stage) that the anti-aliasing wasn't kicking in fast enough and the outlines were supposed to be immensly jaggerdy.. well that's still the same, and to my best guess I have a feeling that this issue has something in relation to anti-aliasing/resizing the content.
A colleuge of mine also tried it on his iPhone 5, and he too got the same results.. horrid white glitchy patterns upon reopening a tab - please follow this link for a quick reprosenation: http://tinypic.com/player.php?v=vobyhf&s=5#.Umftg5Tk9Gg
It's a little weird really.. it happens 99.8% of the time with dark photos, but only around 92% of the time with dark web pages. I did manage to screen shot it in action this morning, however only two white pixels are visible as I only just caught it (it's in different patterns each time) every other time I took one I only managed to capture a blank page with a warped web page filling out slowly; so basically the animation when reopening a tab. Ironicly if I had another iPhone 5S then I would record it in the 'slo-mo' setting but unfortunately I don't.
    Has anyone else experienced/heard/seen this?
p.s. I have just updated to 7.0.3 and it's still doing it

hello i have the same problem with my iphone 5 ,i'm experiencing the problem just in safari ,when i switch between dark tabs it flickering white spots dots pixels on the edge just like in your video!i have 7.0.4 and i'm wondering if i go to the retail store i would receive a replacement or a repair or something !i am going to make an apple appointment genius bar ,see if i could do something about it..

  • Safari Picture Loading Issue

I am trying to see if anyone knows if there is anyway to get all pictures to load form a website. I have read that the limit is 6mb, then photos stop loading in safari and show the blue box with a question mark.
So does anyone know if the is a different browser the iPad can run in order to load a complete web site with photos? Or maybe a program that can override this limitation?
I do not mean to stir up any hate, because I know this has been asked a zillion times, but ....Maybe...Maybe someone has figured something out.
    Thanks in advance.

Have you tried emptying you cache and similar items in Safari's Settings? That may help. However, the real problem is that the iPad only has 256 MB of RAM.

  • IPad 3, iOS 5.1.1, wifi issues- just today

I have an iPad 3 running on ios5.1.1
Yesterday I synced it to my computer to renew my backups.
Today i arrived from work and went on the iPad to find out that i cannot load any pages that uses internet, like Safari, i cannot open pages at all.
I can see that the wifi is being dropped and connected to repeatedly. I turned off wifi for a minute and turned it on, tried to connect to my router and its taking a long time to connect, sometimes never connecting at all.
    I have done the following:
Rebooted iPad(press sleep>slide>...>press in to turn on)
    Turned wifi on and off
    Rebooted my router(6x)
Disconnected all wired and wireless devices that were connected to the router.
Connected to my iPhone 5's 'Personal Hotspot'= I was able to open pages on Safari.
Is there anybody out here that is having same problem as me?
    Whats wrong with it?
    What should i do?

    go into your router manager:
    type 192.168.0.1 into your browser,
log in as the administrator (default is usernamer=admin; password=password)
you should find a "check for upgrades" or something similar and follow the instructions

  • Safari tab loading problem..

Lately, and intermittently, when I open a new blank tab, the page loads nothing (no "Top Sites"). If I click any bookmarks or type in any google search/URL, the page will load in the first tab (leaving the former page) and leaving the recent tab untitled and empty still.
    Anyone get this before?

Lately, and intermittently, when I open a new blank tab, the page loads nothing (no "Top Sites").
That's to be expected if you haven't selected anything to open in a new Tab except a blank page. If you actually wanted to open Top Sites in every new Tab, you'd have to select that from the General preferences tab of Safari.>If I click any bookmarks or type in any google search/URL, the page will load in the first tab (leaving the former page) and leaving the recent tab untitled and empty still.
If I click any bookmarks or type in any google search/URL, the page will load in the first tab (leaving the former page) and leaving the recent tab untitled and empty still.
Perfectly normal, considering your preferences are also probably set to not make the new Tab the active Tab. You can set that in the Tabs section of Safari preferences by selecting the top two checkboxes.

  • Movable Safari Tabs on iOS Devices

While using my iPhone today I realized that there does not seem to be a way to move the position of tabs within safari.
I had 6 tabs open, and just based off of intuition, I tried to move a tab's location by pressing/holding onto one thinking that it would eventually shake and become movable.  I was surprised to see that nothing happened and that there did not seem to be any way to rearrange tabs in safari on an iPhone (and I would assume iPad as well, but I cannot test that until later tonight).
What do you guys think about the possibility of adding the functionality to press/hold onto a tab in safari to have it shake and become movable.  I think it follows the "you already know how to use it before you use it" mentality and would would be used by many users, especially if this functionality is not already on the iPad.

tl:dr - Make safari tabs movable like apps on iOS devices.
    Any thoughts?

  • Safari not loading sites

Frequently lately Safari has been hanging. I do have a habit of keeping a couple dozen pages open in several windows. At some point Safari just won't load pages. I can get the URLs to work in Chrome. If I restart Safari is will work for a while and then stop working.

  • Ios 6 safari closes to video camera

After upgrading iPhone and iPad to IOS 6, Safari shuts down when I try to log on to any web site controlling a Panasonic video security camera.  I can access the sites, but when I enter my UN and PW, Safari just quits and takes me back to the home page ( where icons for all apps are).  Any ideas out there?

Just tap the top right corner (circled area) and it'll re-appear.

  • Having updated my ipad to ios 8 I have now lost the X to close the safari tabs, how do I get around this?

I have updated my ipad to IOS 8 and have now lost the X to close my safari tabs.  How I am supposed to close the tabs now?

If you have more than one tab open, you should still see the "x". When you are down to the last tab, you will need to tap the View Open Tabs icon (upper right, looks like two over lapping squares). You also access Private Browsing from there.

  • Safari crashes when I try opening the bookmark tab (iPad 3, iOS 5.1.1)

    Hello,
I was trying to sync my bookmarks from computer to iPad, and suddenly I couldn't open the bookmarks tab on my iPad any more. Safari just closes right away. I tried erasing all the history and rebooting, but it didn't work.
    Thanks for your help.

    Try the following:
    - Restore from backup
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPad.
If you still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order

  • New safari tabs view doesn't work on iPad

I have an iPad mini that I've just updated to iOS 8.02. When I use the Safari tabs view, I don't get any of the tabs that are open on my iMac or iPhone 5s. I notice that there's a spinning wheels near the wifi indicator but only the tabs on the iPad show up. This works fine on my iPhone but won't work on the iPad. Any ideas why? Seems I've been having many issues with this update I've never had before.

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

  • Can remotely close Safari tabs on Macbook but not iPhone/iPad.

I am unable to remotely close iCloud Safari tabs on my mobile devices. iPhone and iPad are running iOS 8, and my Macbook Pro is running Yosemite. I can remotely close tabs from my Macbook, but when I try to swipe to delete iCloud tabs from my iPhone or iPad, I swipe, the red delete button shows up, but then I tap delete and nothing happens - the tab stays there and is still open on the original device.

I have been experiencing the exact same problems. Any help is appreciated!
