Ipad 3 keeps dropping wifi connection and won't connect to itunes store at all

I get intermittent wifi network connection.  Connection keeps dropping.  When I try to log onto itunes store, connection immediately drops every time.  Rest of my computers have no problem, just the ipad 3

Additional things to try.
Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

  • My ipod touch 8gb 3rd generation keeps dropping wifi.  I hate to reset since i've downloaded all of my itunes directly to my ipod.  Help!

My ipod touch 8gb 3rd generation keeps dropping wifi.  Doesn't matter where I am - happend ALL the time.  Almost useless now except for all of my songs!   We don't have any other problems with other computers in our house.  I have downloaded all of my songs from itunes directly to my ipod (I know, I wish I hadn't) so I hate to reset or I will lose them all.  I have never downloaded any updates (I know, I know!) so could this be my problem? How do I find downloads and what do I need?  Please help if you can!

If I reset my ipod will the wifi dropping stop?    I don't usually connect the ipod to my computer.  I charge it from the wall.  Should I be connecting to the computer instead?  Takes so much longer.  thanks for your help!
The reset may help with the WiFi issue, but you'll have to do the reset to be sure. It does seem to cure a wide variety of issues. At some point you should be connecting the iPod to your computer/iTunes account, otherwise you risk losing all of your music and other content if you have a problem with your iPod.

  • Ipad keeps dropping wifi connection since 4.3 update

My Ipad just won't stay connected to wifi since I updated to 4.3. It keeps dropping, I keep manually reconnecting and a minute or so later it drops again. I tried rebooting it, rebooting my router, etc. I know it's not a signal strength issue - other device are getting a strong signal right next to the Ipad - and the Ipad always worked flawlessly until now.
    Anyone else having this issue?

What make/model router do you have? Does it have the latest firmware?
Does your IPad still work on other networks, i.e., Borders, Barnes & Noble, etc.?
This could be a 4.3 bug or a 4.3 change may just have exposed a bug in your router. This is why getting the latest router firmware is important. That bug (if it exists) may already have been fixed.
If you can't get it working report your problem to Apple along with router details (make/model/version, router firmware level) to Apple at http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html

  • Why does my ipad keep dropping wifi connection?

Bought several ipad2's a month ago, they all worked fine and then a week ago they all devolped a very annoying fault that they disconnect from the wifi connection for no reason.
To be honest I'm being to think these machines are crap. Look good but don't do the basics.
    Please help!!!

    hi Paulcb,
Thanks for your answer. You were right. I rang Apple support (who were lovely btw) they talked me through resetting the ipad - which looked like it had worked as I didn't drop out for hours - and then I did :-( again and again and again.
So then I rang my internet provider and they talked me through changing the "channel selection" on my router (means nothing to me, but it does look as though it has worked).

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

  • Macs drop off and won't connect to BTHub - Macs an...

We've got 2 Macs in our house which keep dropping off the BT Infinity Broadband hub and won't connect again
    here's the thing:
The macs work fine on all other broadband at other locations
The other devices in the house work fine
It's just the combination of Macs and and our home BTHub broadband
recently it's got worse - the last few days more often than not the macs won't connect
    We've tried
    1. turning macs on and off
    2. resetting macs
    3. turning BT broadband hub on and off
    4. turning the Mac airport wifi on and off
    5. in network settings tried both automatically set to BTHub and manually.
    None of this has worked.
    This is so weird.
    Any ideas?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Separating the 2.4 and the 5GHz works straight away.
Go to bthomehub.home on a device that will connect (your phone will do fine)
    Advanced settings
Enter the admin password from the card on your router
    Continue
    Wireless
    5GHz
    Sync with 2.4GHz: No
SSID: add a 5 at the end so you can tell the difference
    Hit apply
Now forget the network on your Mac (System Preferences-Network-Wifi-Advanced)
There should now be two versions of your SSID in the list (the original and the one you added a 5 to)
Your mac should correct straight away to the 2.4GHz (so without the 5) but you'll probably need to put the password in the first time.
It's apparently a known fault in Macs that they struggle with the 5GHz internet
Good luck, if any of the steps are wrong please correct folks, this was very very frustrating for a long time and actually only took 5 minutes to fix!!

  • IPad 3 keeps dropping wifi signal

Despite having a very strong wifi signal around the house, which my iPad 2 has a strong connection to, my new iPad keeps dropping the wifi signal every minute or two, making using the Internet nearly impossible. To regain connection I just have to go on the wifi settings page (not even turning the wifi on and off) which then gives me the signal again. Ive tried resetting network settings, but nothing works. Please help; this is a real problem and means I can't use my iPad properly.

  • My mac mini keeps dropping wifi connectivity

    Hi Folks,
My new Mini keeps dropping wifi connectivity so I lose the connection to Apple TV and even just browsing on Safari seems painful hoping a page will load before losing connectivity. I reset my router, restart the mini and it intermittently keeps happening. Has anyone come up with a workable solution?
    Thanks

Hi Leo, this has worked for a few...
Though all of these steps may or may not be needed, I'm including them all.
Make a New Location, Using network locations in Mac OS X ...
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2712
    10.5, 10.6, 10.7 & 10.8…
System Preferences>Network, top of window>Locations>Edit Locations, little plus icon, give it a name.
    10.5.x/10.6.x/10.7.x/10.8.x instructions...
System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.
The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.
    If using Wifi/Airport...
Instead of joining your Network from the list, click the WiFi icon at the top, and click join other network. Fill in everything as needed.
For 10.5/10.6/10.7/10.8, System Preferences>Network, unlock the lock if need be, highlight the Interface you use to connect to Internet, click on the advanced button, click on the DNS tab, click on the little plus icon, then add these numbers...
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
(There may be better or faster DNS numbers in your area, but these should be a good test).
    Click OK.

  • My 2 gen iPad keeps dropping my AirPlay connection with my 2 gen Apple TV. I just updated to iOS 8.1. Before the worked flawlessly. I love AirPlay. Also my iPhone 5s has the exact same issues with 8.1.

My 02 gen iPad keeps dropping the AirPlay connection after several minutes of play. This happened after updating to iOS 8.1. This worked perfectly on my 2 gen Apple TV before the update. It is also doing the same thing on my iPhone 5s. I use AirPlay all the time. Please help.

  • Why does my iphone 4 keep dropping wifi connection since ios5.0.1update

Why does my iphone 4 keep dropping wifi connection since ios5.0.1 update, it worked perfectly before, my wifes 3gs connects fine and stays connected while my £400 paperweight losses connection, thinking of going back to nokia! Sort it out apple!

If the "oh so Great Apple" were to monitor these forums then they might see all the problems
that the people who have paid good money for their devices are having, i suppose they can do no wrong
In your eyes, i just thought that if you pay a lot of money for a product that works fine, and you update
It with a firmware update that they kept going on about how good it was and it can do this and it can
Do that, then i think they should sort it out. I don't care if i "don't deserve to be an apple owner" or not,
The fact is i paid my money and it should do what its suppose to do, i moved from Nokia to Apple because
The N97 was crap and i put up with it for too long, and they didn't do anything to fix the bugs they just stopped
Selling it and basically said tough s**t, so now this is happened i hoped Apple whould be better but they seem
To be just like the rest.

Thanks for trying those steps out!
Rtbeal, I would recommend that you contact AppleCare so they can run further tests and diagnostics to help you solve your solution better.
If you can also access an Apple Store Genius Bar or Apple Authorized Service Center, that would be much better.
