IPad 3 problems

1- Its not compatible with adobe flash player & hard to find a free compatible app that work same adobe flash player , 2- hard to print from safari or any other program even the emails unless if I buy a special app to make my wifi printer be completely compatible or buy a special hp eprint station machine, 3- not compatible with google cloud print so it's hard to convert webpage to PDF file type 4- it's not compatible with what's app , 5- the Arabic keyboard missing for shift keys, 6- how can I sync my contacts from my google account to my contacts address book in my iPad 3 wifi only .... 1 - No Apple product has ever supported Flash, and probably never will. There are several apps that allow flash to be played, however the best ones are going to have to be paid for (try Photon Flash Web Browser)
2 - If your printer is not AirPrint compatible but can be connected to your Wi-Fi network there are several applications (the best ones are free) that allow you to print from your iPad to your Wi-Fi printer. You mentioned HP, try HP ePrint Home and Biz.
3 - To convert a web page to PDF simply tap the glasses icon in Safari.
4 - Not sure what you are referring to..."it's not compatible with what's app"
5 - Again not sure as I've never used the Arabic keyboard
6 - Google has several articles in their support section for setting up your Google Contacts to sync with and iOS device. Just Google "sync Google contacts with iPad".

Aperture 3 Syncing to iPhone/iPad Problem

I'm trying to sync my photos in Aperture (3.0.3) to my iPhone 3GS (iOS 4) and iPad:
I was able to sync projects, albums, faces, and places perfectly fine to my iPhone, but as of about a month ago, when I select Aperture as the source to sync photos in iTunes (9.2), it shows a very outdated version of my library and hasn't changed for over a month. I've tried rebuilding, and repairing the Aperture database, as well as repairing permissions, but nothing has changed in iTunes. I've also tried creating a new Aperture database, putting photos into that and syncing, but some photos don't sync (all standard JPEGs, and they've synced before so the photos aren't the issue). So far no update to iTunes or Aperture has fixed this.
I don't do anything special in Aperture other than import photos from a CF card, directly from my Canon 40D, iPhone, iPad, etc. I did originally import all my photos from iPhoto, but I had no problems syncing or anything like that. I think one of the Aperture updates messed up iTunes ability to recognize the current library as it's stuck on this old version.

I have been syncing from Aperture via iTunes to my iPad since I purchased it. It has had options such as: "Selected projects, albums, and faces and automatically include 'projects from the last 6 months'" and "include videos".
Apart from videos, everything has worked. I got all the albums I selected including the photos, and all the events from the past 6 months (which appear as a separate tab - events - in Photo viewer on the iPad). Video has never worked though, I never see any of the videos transferred - I do suspect the format in that case though, perhaps Aperture sharing doesn't convert the format, even though they work in iMovie.
However, yesterday, as I was syncing, I noticed iTunes say "deleting photos..." now all photos are gone, except one album - the "***" (5 star) one from Aperture. I have tried rebooting the iPad, restarting the Mac, checking other applications can see the thumbnails from Aperture, removing "Sync photos from Aperture" then re-enabling. And nothing. All I get is the one album and no events.
It has been working for months. I have not updated iTunes in the last few days, nothing I can tell has changed, however none of my albums are now being installed. There is zero feedback. It says it works, no errors, nothing.
Any ideas?

4 months of iPad problems

Just a report on my recent experience with Apple support on an iPad.
In May, I bought the top of the line iPad3 (64Gb + 4G). A couple of weeks later, problems started to appear, in random order.
- half of the screen started to flicker
- spontaneous reboot
- 80% of apps crashing at boot
- truckload of errors and crash reports in the logs
- iPad going into recovery mode
- apps refused to install, download refused to finish
Of course, none of this was consistent. It was sporadic, sometimes coming in clusters around 2/3 days and then disappearing for weeks.
So I called Apple, which made me do a reboot, then a reinstall from iCloud, then finally a "setup as new iPad". Nothing worked.
Shipped the iPad off to Apple, with precise description of the problems.
Got an email at 2pm on a Friday: "we got your device, it's being tested"
Second email at 5pm same day: "nothing is wrong, we are shipping it back. Be grateful we didn't charge you for the diagnostic services"
I called them and asked them how could they possibly diagnose a sporadic intermittent problem in such a short time, but of course the answer was "we don't know, we don't talk to techs, we have the right tools..." Basically "shut up and take your ipad back"
I live in Hawaii, where the nearest Apple store is 150$ and 1h flight away on a different island.
Problems kept getting worse: reboot almost every day, 2/3 times a day. Finally the idea: Make a video! Used my cellphone, and decided to videotape all the weird behaviours. Got 4 minutes of footage with reboots, flickers, crashes, and all of that.
Finally decided to travel to apple store, showed the video to the "genius" and got a brand new iPad in 5 minutes.
Now Apple: costed me an airplane ticket, and 4 months of frustration.
A few suggestions to Apple:
1- TRUST your customers. Before you dismiss their claims, try a little harder.
2- Use your own crash reports. My iPad submitted at least 150 automatic crash reports, including some very troubling CRC (memory corrupted, mostly due to faulty memory chips)

I went looking around on my external backup and low and behold, there was an iPhoto icon with the date of August 8. I have no clue how or why it was backed up, but there it is. Eveything is there on the external disk.
1. Is there a way to move that to the computer and make it my primary iPhoto?
2. My computer is 1TB, and my external disc is only 500GB. My fault, I know. Thus, I do not thing the Time Machine could be configured as a backup.
Do you know if there is way for me to set it on Time Machine, but only back certain files, such as iPhoto, and other top priority?

I can't sync my macbook air with my ipad, problems with authorization... this keeps cropping up: "The required file was not found or has a permissions error. Correct this permissions problem and try again, or deauthorize this computer if the permi"

Help, cannot sync completely with my ipad, and i also cannot remove or delete shared photos which are clogging up my ipad 64GB memory! Some issue with this keeps croppin gup, so frustrating:

Not sure how we can correct his permissions problem, and whether authorising or deautorizing makes any difference, with more and more errors keep popping up, this got to be such after an update of the OS, can remember which!?

follow this:
Launch iTunes
select iTunes Store from the menu on the left side.
sign in via the link on the top right area if you haven't done so already
click the link where you Apple ID email appears, enter your Apple ID password, click View Account, this will take you to a page displaying detailed information about your Apple ID account.
The last item under Apple ID summary should be Computer Authorisations, click Deauthorize All
now reauthorize any computers as needed when the system prompts you.

IPad problem.

Can someone please help me with problem I have. I was able to sync all I had saved on my pc to my replacement I pad with the exception of my saved movies. I can't seem to be able to get them back on the iPad. I can view them on the pc so they are downloaded correctly. Appreciate some help please.

Do you see them on the iPad configuration when the iPad is connected to the PC, with iTunes running and your iPad selected? Just because you can see them in the iTunes library does not mean that they were selected to sync.
Connect the iPad to the PC and launch iTunes. Click on the iPad name on the left side under "devices". Click on the Movies Tab in the iTunes window on the right. Click on the Sync Movies heading. Click on each movie that you want to sync. Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes.
Now check the iPad. Did the movies sync?

Bluetooth, iPad problem.

The Bluetooth on my iPad does not see any devices to pair too. My iPhone and Mac Book locate and connect with these without a problem. What's up with that?

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.

IPad problem with syncing after reinstall

i have reinstalled windows 7 recently and when i plugged my ipad to be synced with some new apps i found that itunes demand the data that is not currently in the itunes library because i reinstalled the whole disk containing this information(i don't know why it just don't merges it). Anyway, i have accepted this and selected the new apps to be installed, and that's where the problem begins. On step 2 of 3 (determining apps to sync) it doesn't sync at all the selected apps and then finishes syncing without the apps appearing on the ipad.
It still has the apply button to sync them but it doesn't do anything at all. Any suggestions regarding this situation because i don't really understand what wrong with it ...

I have just bought a 27" Mac and would like to Sync my ipad to it. The problem that I have is I keep getting a message that says unable to sync because there is not enough free space to hold all the items in the iTunes library. I have flagged the things that I want to sync and it only fills up half of the 64G that I have avaliable. This is the first time that I have had a mac and the first time that I have tried to sync, Im not sure of whats wrong. Any assistance would be appreciated

I think I know what I did, I downloaded the update early from online and now it wants to restore to that download which I have deleted, if I click Shift+Restore is the official apple update file somewhere for me to select?

Syncing iPhone iPad problem

I have turned off icloud calendars on both devices then I have reset them both and then turned back on icloud calendars, numerous times, yet still my calendar entries do not show up on my iPad.
I have both devices set to show "all events"

Ipad problems with movie rentals

rented movie from itunes. Watch 14 minutes of movie. Movie locked up. Turned iPad off and on. Now video app comes up with grey blank screen with no movie menu bars. What to do??????? Thanks.

I am having the same problem. I tried to fix based on Eric Ross's suggestion and it still just stays blank.
I was watching a rental movie and 3/4 of the way through it froze. After rebooting, synching and updating OS, the movie app just shows a blank screen when selected.
No red X shows up on the movie app to close it as Eris suggests.

Ipad problems

i noticed before xmas my ipad started freezing and switching off, and that any music/movies i purchased just wouldnt download, just in a constant cycle that it was downloading, i watched and the process kept re- setting over and over. i left it as was away over xmas, thinking it would be just a glitch that would correct itself by the time i arrived home. but no, still doing it. facebook app stopped working also. i rang customer services at meadowhall store, spoke to a lovely lady called alicia, who recommended the reset option to try and correct it, not the one that wipes it, everything still intact. still doing same thing, nothing works. i noticed the 8.1.2 update pending so installed that. went upstairs to update itunes and everything on pc also, still not working, only now its worse, half the music i had on my ipad is now missing, half the ones that are there wont play or im getting error messages saying theyre not there when they are, it doesnt matter regarding if im signed in or signed out, still same, i dont know what else to do i give up. anyone else had this problem? its driving me insane!

This is where you back up your data and basically reinstall the operating system from scratch.
If that doesn't help then you may want to make an appointment at your local apple store and have them look at it.

ISE guestaccess - Android/iPad problem

Hi all,
I have a guestaccess using CWA on ISE 1.1.1 and WLC 7.2
The setup is realy simple with redirect ACL to ISE and after that an permit-all ACL.
Guest users are on a guest vlan and go thru a ASA to talk to DHCP, DNS and ISE.
When I try to connect with laptops, Windows 7, OSX 10.7 and 10.8, it works like it a charm.
The user gets redirected, put in credentials and after that get on the network. Not one problem out of maybe 30 tests.
But when I try smartphones and iPad it doesent work that well...
With iPhones, iOS5 and iOS 6 tested on three diffrent phones, I get access 19/20 times.
With iPad, only one with iOS 5.1, I get access maybe 50% of the tries
And with Android, two HTC with 2.3.7 and 2.3.3, I got one logon to the guest network out of 25 or more tries.
What happends when I try to access the network with a problem device is that it gets a redirect url but states,
on Android 'Web page not available' and on iPAD '..could not open page because it could not connect ot server.
On all these devices I can see that I have a DHCP lease with IP address and DNS. I have rebooted all devices several times and I have used 'forget this network' on the diveces.
I have also tried to removed the clients from the WLC and I have tried to turn off/on the WLAN on the WLC.
Could this be a WLC problem? I did a simple TCP dump on the ISE server but did not see any packets. (Need to do this one again..)
Anyone with some insight on guestaccess and mobile devices? :-)

Apps updated on PC in iTunes not getting transferred to iPhone or iPad--problem solved!

Ever since iTunes 11 came out the apps that I updated thorugh the iTunes store on my PC were not being transferred automatically to my Iphone or iPad during the syncs; my devices would still show the red number next to the App Store app, indicating there were updated apps yet to be updated on the device.
I tried to solve this via Googling the problem, but solutions I found (reinstall the app, or click on "check for available downloads") were not useful.
So I called Apple tech support, and a Senior Advisor told me what to do: after updating the apps on my PC and connecting my device to my PC, click on the device on the left had column to highlight it, then click on the Apps tab. Most of the apps will display as either Install or Remove, but the just updated ones will say Update. Click on that option, then either Apply or Sync.

I found out where the problem is. For whatever reason, after I reinstall the Windows and Itunes, the "Automatically install new apps" checkbox is unchecked. I checked it and now it will auto sync the apps from itunes to the iphone now.

My iPad 3rd Generation significantly drains the wifi when in use for other members/devices using the same wifi in the house. Does anyone know why? How it can be resolved? Or is it even an iPad problem or a router problem.

It it's only happening on one specific account, that means something about that account is causing the problem. Sounds obvious, right? But the implications and how to fix it aren't necessarily obvious.
It's not likely to be third-party kernel extensions causing the problem, since those will run for all user accounts. If it's a third-party software issue, it's going to be something that is running on just that account. First place to check is your login itmes (System Preferences -> Accounts). Remove items you don't need from that list, and if that doesn't help, remove ALL items from that list.
If that still doesn't help, there's one other thing to check. There are things called LaunchAgents that can be used to keep specific tasks running (possibly re-opening them if they crash or are made to quit by the user), run them at specific times, etc. In the Finder's Go menu, hold down the option key and choose Library. In that folder, find the LaunchAgents folder. What's in there? You can move all the items there temporarily to a folder on the desktop (or anywhere else), then log out and log back in. Does that fix the problem?
Of course, it sounds like the account you're using may be so badly messed up that you can't perform these checks. And the problem may not be third-party software anyway, it could be something that has gotten badly corrupted in your user account, and that can be difficult or impossible to pin down. If you have another admin account that you can use, it may be easiest to simply start using that account, and delete the one that's not working. Also, regardless of what the problem is and how you solve it, since one possibility is some kind of corruption, it wouldn't be a bad idea at all to repair your hard drive with Disk Utility.

No sound in apps. New iPad problem or iOS 5.1 problem?

I had a problem where app sounds would not play unless I had headphones in, though music always worked. I read a recently solved issue where someone had a similar problem. Notifications were not muted, sound was at full volume. I did everything I could to get sound to work properly and have discovered a bug.
Unless the physical toggle switch is dedicated to mute or un-mute instead of orientation lock, app sounds are not regulated correctly. If you are having problems with sound only working in music, you may be one of the many who repurposed your physical toggle switch.
Change it back to mute or unmute, and everything should be fine.
I'm also guessing that if you mute your iPad with the toggle switch and then dedicate it to orientation lock, the iPad remembers both your mute dedication, and your orientation toggle, however switching up or down only affects the current purpose even if it remembers the settings for both.

I use the side switch for screen orientation lock and have no issues with sound whatsoever in any apps and never did.
You do know that you can control system sounds via the task bar - if you are using the side switch for screen lock like I do - when you double tap the home button and swipe all the way to the right to get to the mute icon on the left side?
