  • HT201210 Ipad 4 rebooted automatically numerous times...froze up...hard restarted using home and power...put itself into restore mode "connect to iTunes"...I did this but I get error '1600' and can't perform restore...i've exhausted all fix options for '1

Hi folks as in the title:
My Ipad 4 froze up and rebooted automatically numerous times.
It then immediately froze up completely and didn't try and reboot itself.
I then hard restarted the device using the home and power buttons simultaneously.
I got the Apple logo and saw my desktop for a moment and then it froze up.
Hard rebooted again only this time I saw "connect to iTunes".
I connected the device to my MBP and iTunes where I was told it was in restore mode.
I followed the on-screen instructions in iTunes to restore the device.
I spent 15minutes downloading the necessary files etc only for the restore to fail through error code '1600'.
I explored this error code in Apple support and followed all Apple's suggestions, and subsequently tried the restore each time.
I have now exhausted all fix options for '1600'...and I can't even get 'connect to iTunes message' on my iPad device now.
Any suggestions would be welcome please?
    Kind regards.

    Thanks for the response Demo.
Unfortunately I don't have another computer with which to try a restore from.
I've tried to reboot the iPad again using the sleep and home buttons (whilst it is unplugged from my MBP) and it remains completely lifeless. I know there is 80% battery life in the device as I had it charging when it malfunctioned.
I've tried recovery mode through iTunes in excess of 15 times now all yielding the same and inevitable result of 'error 1600'.
I think it's time to get to know the team at my local Apple store...

  • IPad 3 reboot loop after iOS update

    Hi,
I have updated my iPad 3 to the last 6.1.2 version and since then it just reboots automatically every two minutes.
I have tried to restore it but now it is impossible to activcate the device from my Wifi or even when connected to iTunes ( it says it can't connect to apple server). In the mean time the iPad just keeps on rebooting every so often.
    What to do?

    Try this:

  • Why is it that my new iPad not backing up automatically after ios6?

    Please help.

Try deleting your last backup if you have one and try backing up again.  If that fails, You may have an app that is preventing the backup from succeeding.  To locate which one, go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, tap the name of your device under Backups, under Backup Options tap Show All Apps, then turn them all to Off (including camera roll) and try backing up again.  If it succeeds, then the camera roll and/or one of your apps is preventing the backup and you'll have to located by process of elimination. Turn the camera roll On and try backing up again.  If it succeeds, turn some of your apps to On and try backing up again.  If it succeeds again, turn some more apps to On then try again; repeat this process until it fails.  Eventually you'll be able to locate the offending app and exclude it from your backup.  If it's the camera roll that's the problem, import your photos and videos to your computer (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083) and delete them.  If you want some of them on your phone again, put them in a folder and sync them back to your phone by selecting the folder on the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings and syncing.  Also see http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3992.
It also might be related to your wifi.  You could try backing up while connected to a different wifi to see if that works.

  • IPad keeps rebooting itself after updating to iOS 8.3

Just updated an iPad 3 to iOS 8.3 from iOS 8.2 .  Update took a while to install (over 20 minutes) and then the Apple logo appeared for a bit then the screen went black for about 10  minutes.  The device was fine for a while and then started rebooting itself, hung on the Apple logo for about 10 minutes and now suddenly it came back.  All apps were up to date.  The device had not had any issues prior to the update.  Has anyone else had this issue?
    Thanks!

No, this is definitely an iOS 8.3 bug, Allen. I have an iPad mini (original, 24/12 old) and an iPhone 5 (not S, 18/12 old). Updated both from 8.2 to 8.3. I keep them and the apps up to date and run a tight ship.
Since the update, the iPhone has been behaving normally.
However, starting immediately after the update, the iPad has been rebooting: when you plug it into the power and it goes to sleep, it reboots itself. This NEVER ONCE happened before the 8.3 update -- and I think I started with this iPad on iOS5 or at least 6, with all the updates inbetween. If you want to use it again shortly after plugging it in, you have to wait about five-ten minutes (as other have reported).  So far, it has always rebooted successfully. But you do have to put in your passcode in response to "you have to enter your passcode upon rebooting" message; and tell it to trust your current computer connect once again.
It just now rebooted itself once again when plugged into the computer USB port, while in the middle of a sync (the screen went to sleep). Not happy about that; potential to damage data.
I confirm: this NEVER happened before 8.3, and it now reliably happens EVERY TIME I plug the iPad into power and it goes to sleep. I have three power sources (computer USB, individual Apple charger, aftermarket reserve battery charter) and it happens with all of them.
As far as I can tell, it only reboots itself once per charger-plugin, and doesn't do so again until you unplug it and plug it back in again (somewhat confident, but not 100% sure, of that).
Hope that helps. The bug needs squashing, and soon.

  • Z87 MPOWER reboots automatically after shutdown with latest BIOS

    Hi!
I was having some problems with the RAM using XMP profile (CORSAIR CMD16GX3M2A1866C9 2*8GB 1866MHz Cl9). Mainly I had some occasional reboots at windows startup and some rare random blue-screens but it all went away after updating the BIOS to version 1.7 .
But now I'm having another issue. After shutting down the PC it turns itself on after 1 second. It only started to happen after the 1.7 update. Any ideas of what it might be?

  • Satellite A110 reboots automatically after every shutdown

    Hi!
    I have the following problem:
When shutting down the system, my notebook first goes off completely as desired, but 2 seconds later it starts again. It behaves different from a usual reboot - then it does not turn off, but reboots directly. Furthermore I can exclude software problems, since I tested it with different operating systems and the behaviour is the same everywhere. This problem was not there earlier, but then suddenly occurred and is now there every time.
Ah, also important is that if the AC adaptor is NOT connected (i.e. notebook runs solely on battery), the problem does not occur. If the notebook runs on AC power, the problem occurs, no matter whether the battery is in the notebook or not.
Can someone help? Every hint is highly appreciated!
    My notebook is a
    Satellite A110-228

    Thank you very much!

I have the same problem on an A135. I've updated the bios. I changed out the hard drive. (I have a few of these computers.) THIS IS NOT A SOFTWARE or FIRMWARE problem. This is a hardware problem. I just don't know what kind. When the power cord is plugged in the computer will not hibernate or turn off correctly. It will shut down then start up again in 5 seconds. When the power cord is unplugged both hibernate and shutdown work correctly. However, sleep mode doesn't work in either condition. Sleep mode always turns off the computer without doing a proper shutdown. Anyone have any ideas??

  • Ipad mini has frozen after ios6 update, help?

    Can anyone help?

Well, since the procedure does absolutely nothing, it is of no value. If the OP wishes to do a Reset, they would need to push and hold the Home button and the On/Off buttons for approximately 10-15 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. Release both buttons and await restart.

  • Live CD boots to a black screen that eventually reboots automatically

Never experienced anything like this before.  The 02.01.2014 Live CD boots to a black screen that eventually reboots automatically (after 8-10 min).  The hardware is an HP 2000-2C62NR laptop.  I see the UEFI boot screen the CD displays, but that's it.  I can select the first option to boot into x86_64 Arch live environment, but I get no feedback on the screen (just blank) and I do not see the network come up.  After 8-10 min of just sitting there, it seems to reboot itself.
Just for kicks, I booted to a live Ubuntu 13.10 CD.  Again, I get the boot menu, and selected "try ubuntu" from the prompt.  Again, I get nothing but a black screen.  The ubuntu CD did get further though; my router assigned the laptop an IP address.  Any thoughts?

Boot from the first of the system discs (by holding down the C key until the welcome screen goes away) and, in Disc Utility, repair privileges. Not just permissions, but privileges. Then reboot at normal. That will probably fix it.
