Tom I have a i pad three I could not find a way to send email to you .I changed my password to four or more and lost is . all is backed up on my mac. i go into I tunes and go to redo ipad and and I get the message Go to iCloud Settings on your iPad and turn off Find My iPad before restoring your iPad. You can probably change the ID in the "iTunes and App stores" settings on the iPad....click on the wrong account ID , select sign out, then log in with your own ID, I have not done this but I think it works.....
but I would be more inclined to to the factory reset and start afresh. -
My ipad 3 suddenly stopped charging last week. I've tried different adapters, to no avail. I didn't drop it or spill anything on it. I don't have tons of apps, so plenty of memory. My husband took it to the Apple store for me and they tried charging it too even though I knew that wasn't the problem and then said it wasn't working (no kidding) and then told him it would be $300 to replace. Seeing as I've only had it for a year and a half and it cost more than twice that to begin with, I'm a little ticked that it stops charging, a problem I know is very common according the all the message boards and they want to charge me $300. I've always heard that Apple was so good to it's customers, but my iphone has been a nightmare, and now my ipad won't charge. Also, I've tried the reset options I've read about and none worked. Sorry, just really upset. I thought I was paying all this money for better quality and now I feel foolish for having done so. Anybody with any ideas I, or the genius at Apple haven't thought of? Help is appreciated. Thanks.

Could be the charger, cable or iPad. Plug the USB cable into your computer. It may say "Not Charging", however, it is charging slowly and will verify that the cable is good.
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. You can try this:
1. Go to the iTunes Store or App Store
2. Scroll down, there you will see Apple ID: "your email" (below Redeem and Send Gift)
3. Tap on that button
4. Tap on Sign Out
Now you should be able to use another Apple ID.

I'm getting my "new" iPad on Friday. I'm replacing my "original" iPad (1). Since I preordered and will be receiving my iPad directly I will not be picking it up from the Apple store, so no set up from them. Can someone walk me thru what I must to do get my new iPad up and running. I want to transfer my info, apps, etc. to my new iPad but I also want to pass on my old one to a family member who uses the same computer. How shall I proceed? Thanks!
If you want everything that's on your current iPad onto the new one, then you can first copy all purchases off the iPad to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases. You can then backup your current iPad and restore the new iPad from that backup (a list of what is included in a backup is in this article - it excludes music, videos, synced photos). As the backup doesn't contain the actual apps, just their settings and content, for the restore to work completely you'll need all the relevant apps in your computer's iTunes library - otherwise the restore won't be able to install the apps and therefore their content (which is one reason to do File > Transfer Purchases, if that doesn't copy them over then you can re-download them for free : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519).
The restore won't copy passwords onto a different device, so you will need to re-enter your email, router, and any website passwords onto the new iPad.
Depending on what you want to remain on the iPad, you can then either leave it as it is or log out of your account on it (tap on it in Settings > Store) and then wipe it via Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content And Settings. -
I'm not able to pair my iPad via Bluetooth with my Logitech mini-Boombox. I recently brought my iPad to the Apple Store for an unrelated problem, and they replaced it with a new device. The old device had no problem pairing with any of my Bluetooth devices. I'm only haveing the problem with my new device. I was able to pair it with my Apple wireless keyboard, but not the mini-Boombox. I think I've done everything that I've read in other forum posts: I've toggled the Bluetooth setting on and off; I've reset the iPad a couple times; I've turned off and on the mini-Boombox; I've recharged the mini-Boombox. What am I missing here, and how can I fix this?

How long does it take for Apple to ship a replacement iPad 2?
I'd ordered an iPad 2 on the 27th of April and recieved it this last Friday (May 13th). It'd shipped two days ahead of it's scheduled date on the 11th but recieved when it was supposed to.
Immediately after recieving my iPad 2, I'd noticed small pits and chips in the aluminum along with a scratch on the side along with some issues with the backlight. I called Apple the same morning and they promised me a replacement and I was to be put on a priority list for a replacement. I got an RMA # and eventually got shipping labels. The updated order said it'd ship by the 27th and be recieved by June 3rd. The representative promised me it would ship well before then and that the shipping would be overnighted and wouldn't be the two week wait again. I even said I didn't want to have to go through all that again after receiving a dud product.
I was offered an accessory which came yesterday.
I called today to get an update on my order since they received the iPad 2 yesterday on the 16th. The representative wouldn't confirm anything other than it looked like a standard order and it would ship by the 27th without overnight shipping. She wasn't incredibly helpful with the situation nor did she really reaffirm anything about getting a replacement to my doorstep sooner than the entire new two week wait of ordering a new one. When I mentioned a priority list, it didn't seem any different to her than a normal web order (like when I originally placed my order on the 27th of April).
I had something like this happen to me last year and I got a new iPad in two days flat.
Help?Call back and ask to have your call expedited to Customer Relations. They are authorized to make things happen that the entry level agents cannot. Be calm and polite because they really want to help you.
Be sure to mention the promises that the first agent made regarding the promptness of being on a priority list with overnight shipping and that the most recent agent sees none of that differentiating the order from a standard order. Calmly explain your disappointment.
I had an issue when I called an Apple Store and asked about upgrading the RAM in my Mac. The store clerk told be that 3rd party RAM installed by an Apple certified tech by an Apple certified service provider, would void my extended warranty. The font line Apple Care agent told me the same thing. I asked to speak with Customer Relations and was told both the other Apple employees were wrong and he sent me a coupon for up to US$100 off any Apple Product of US$300 or more. Irfan.It should charge independetely from the fact that it you are watching videos or not (at least mine does), eventhough it might take longer.
Are you sure the charger is ok? Mine started giving me some problems and it would charge some times and others it didn't. Therefore I thought it was the computer and not the charger (usually they just burn and death is a quick, not a process). Turns out it was some contact thing. I am sure that you established the right connection to the video watching, but maybe you just seat more confortable in the sofa and the contact is lower...?
Also, people at the apple store did not encourage me at all to buy a more powerful charger. They said it is best to use the same power it came with... -
What is the cost of replacing a battery for an Ipad 2 in India? On asking the service centre, I was informed the entire Ipad would be replaced for 20K which is exorbitant. The same is done in US for a paltry (comparably) 100 dollars. Is it advisable to buy the Apple protection program in this case?

I had my iPad 2 replaced by Applestore today. On the new iPad I tried to restore from iCloud backup point but was told I was unable to do this as the new iPad needed to have the latest running system iOS 7 loaded. Is there a way I can do this so I can get my iCloud backup or do I need to go back to Applestore and get an iPad preloaded with iOS 7?
If you feel comfortable you can do the Update to iOS 7 yourself and after you have successfully done that... then Restore your iCloud Back Up.
If you are not comfortable in doing it yourself... Then go back to the Apple Store and get them to do it.

i backed up my broken ipad to my computer yesterday, returned it to Apple & got it replaced today and have now accidently backup'd on my computer over the top of my original Ipad Back up from yesterday. Can anyone advise how do I get previous copy of my back up??
Look at this knowledge base article on iOS backups to iTunes, note where the backups are kept for your type of computer, Windows or Mac, go to that Library location and see if there are any other files with the same name as the current backup but with a different extension and date/time stamp. If so you can edit the extension of the current backup and then change the extension of the previous backup so it looks like what was on the current and the do a restore. iTunes will think the older backup is now new and use it to restore.
If there are no such files then you over-wrote the backup and it is gone. -
I would like to inquire about how I could have my iPad 2 repaired or replaced. I bought it With a credit card via apple store website last June 19 of this year. At first, I already noticed a little white spot in the middle of the screen visible when the display on screen is dark. I thought this was okay. Now, My problem with it is that, it now has green discolorations at the center whenever the screen display is black or dark I.e. After I was done listening to some music, I of course puller out the EarPods from the headphone jack. But then I noticed how the tip broke into 2, so half of the tip is stuck in the headphone jack. Since they were Apple EarPods, and I didn't inflict any damage to them, would I receive a free repair or replacement on my iPad?
Are you still under warranty? You're going to have a tough time convincing them it wasn't your fault they broke, I predict. In any case, someone else had a good idea on one of these types of threads: take it to an electronics shop as they probably deal with this situation quite frequently.
