Gadget Lab reports that as of April 28th (7:43 AM EST) those that pre-ordered the iPad 3G are starting to receive email notifications with tracking numbers.

It appears the link I posted earlier this morning was not FACT. The fact that no one has posted receiving an email sorta confirms it. Shame on you Gadget Lab for stirring the rumor pot!
That link in turn linked back to a single post on a forum at the MacRumors site. Since not a single person has yet posted similar information, I'm pretty sure that was someone posting a photoshopped forgery to get people excited.

Two phones ordered, only one shipped. The iPhone 6 has shipped with tracking number and charge to my card. iPhone 6 Plus has no information available, no one at CS can tell me if this is normal, if it is delayed, any info appreciated.

I placed an upgrade order for two phones, an iPhone 6 and 6plus.
I was in the Verizon shopping cart at 11:55 and checked out by 12:01 AM pacific time.
I do have my email confirmation for both phones with ship date 9/19
The iPhone 6 has shipped with tracking number and the charge to my card came through for the price of this phone.
There is no other information available - nothing on the status of the 6 Plus. Customer service doesn't know if this is normal or if my order went through, its really bad.
Any further information would be much appreciated.

I was just told by a Verizon sales rep that, when her team got in, when she checked the system at 3:03 (midnight+ 3 minutes) all 6Plus had a back order date of October, and now its going into November even though the pre-order system was showing 9/19 - that all verizon iphone 6 plus had an instant sell out.
She had no additional information on my iPhone 6 plus, not even if there was a chance for it to ship out, when the back order date would be - no further information.
(A different rep I talked to said all iphone 6 plus pre orders had a ship date of October, all of them - I asked what Verizon is going to do when they advertised iphone 6 plus for 9/19 delivery and your telling me they never had any available - at this point he transferred me... *****)

If you purchase your new iPad at an Apple Store ask them to check the iPad and update the iOS to 5.1. They'll probably do it for you. If you get your iPad home set it up so that you have Internet access via wifi and then go to
Settings > General > Software Update

There are was to revert to iOS 5, but they are not covered by warranty, and not supported by Apple at all and as such can't be talked about here.
I'm sure you can find something if you google for "iOS 5 rollback"
As for refuted units, it's standard policy to release any and all units even refurbed nes with the most up t date iOS. So you'll likely not find a refurb with anything other than iOS6 .
Also I would never change a retina iPad 3 for regular iPad 2

I'd be VERY surprised if your machine was not shipping with Lion installed. However even if it doesn't when you initally install Lion it will launch into Setup Assistant, if you follow the prompts it will ask if you are migrating from another machine. You can use Pondini's Lion Setup Assistant tips for help, look for the section(s) on MS Windows migration. Also I would strongly recommend bookmarking and studying the following sites:

I have missed my iPAD and unable to track now.

Yesterday i have misplaced my iPAD and now unable to search it.
Unfortunately Find My iPAD software was not installed on the iPAD, so unable to track.
is there any other solution like by using Sr. NO/IMEI no or SIM no we can track it.

Apple (and no one else) can not assist (with serial number or iCloud) in finding a lost or stolen iPad.
Report to police along with serial number. Change all your passwords.

Verizon and IPAD 2 shipping problems

I ordered mine March 12th, still no IPAD 2 nobody knows what's going on at Verizon. They are all quite dumb and unorganized at this company. I am so angry that nobody can give me a straight answer. I was told they were shipping out today now they are telling me 1-2 more weeks possibly. When that day comes they will tell me another 1-2 weeks. Just such a poorly run company. I should have just ordered from Apple directly and i would have had it by now. Might move all my phones to AT&T just so i dont have to deal with such stupidity anymore.

Due to overwhelming demand for the iPad 2, shipping has been delayed.
Orders placed on 3/11, 3/12, 3/13 and 3/14 are expected to be shipped the week of 4/11/2011.
Orders placed on 3/15, 3/16, 3/17, 3/18, 3/19, 3/20, 3/21, 3/22, 3/23, 3/24, 3/25, 3/26, 3/27, 3/28, 3/29, 3/30, 3/31, 4/1, 4/2, 4/3, 4/4, 4/5, 4/6, 4/7, 4/8, 4/9, 4/10, 4/11, 4/12, 4/13 and 4/14 are expected to be shipped 3-4 weeks from the order date. Customer will be contacted if the original shipping date is adjusted.

Per Apple they have announced April 30th as the shipping date. See link below. Well we kept asking to know... and now we do!

I called Apple Friday to ask for a ship date (I ordered on day 1 of preorder) and was told the IPads will ship next week starting on Tuesday. If you live in an area with alot of orders/high population city those IPads will ship out first. Less populated areas/less orders will ship out later in the week. Regardless of what day yours ships, they will all get to a 'central location' in your city and be held there for delivery on Friday April, 30.
When I asked what company was delivering, UPS or FedEx I was told it will probably be UPS because FedEx doesnt do 'hold' shipments. Also the IPads will need a signature on delivery and they cant be pre-signed for like FedEx because UPS doesnt offer that with Apple deliveries.
The representative also said the units would be delivered to us early in the day before they go on sale at the stores at 5 pm.

Is there an iCloud stamp on the current iPad 2 packaging? Maybe the packaging implies. If the current packaging has the iCloud stamp, iPads shipped with iOS4.3 wouldn't have it but that would really take a bit of luck to come by.

Like Mbrguy mentioned, you would be able to cancel your service plan for a pro-rated refund if you ultimately decide to trade in your current iPad through our Trade In program. If you still have the original box, documentation, and Apple accessories, then make sure to bring these in as well to ensure you receive the highest trade in value possible. Just remember to remove any accessories that weren't originally included with the device though as these parts typically do not have a trade in value.

I don't believe there is any correlation between the serial number and the version of iOS, but the sales person may be able to tell you when the unit was received into their stock. If it was before September 18th, it certainly should have iOS 6.

Correct, the Mini doesn't ship with earphones, but it can use any industry standard set with a 3.5mm plug.

Mini DVI to VGA incorrectly shipped with MBP instead of DVI to VGA

Has anyone else had a mini DVI to VGA adapter shipped with their macbook pro (2008) instead of a DVI to VGA adapter? I just needed to use it today and was told at the apple store that I had an adapter included with the computer. I went home to check and the adapter that was with the computer was a mini DVI to VGA adapter and the computer has a regular DVI output. I understand that later in 2008 the mac book pros were made with the mini DVI so I am thinking that there may have been a packaging error.......unusual for Apple???

Most likely an error when the machine was packaged for distribution. The MacBook Pro has never shipped with Mini DVI, it was a dual link DVI port until they went to Mini DisplayPort. The MacBook, however featured the Mini DVI.
I know Apple has ceased to ship the adapters with the MacBook Pro, to my knowledge they did around the time of the mid/late 2008 machines. I know with the first couple of generations (MBP) you actually got both a DVI and VGA adapter.
I'd contact Apple, inform of the discrepancy and I'm sure they'll make it right.
