Ipad 4 charging very slowly

my ipad 4 charge very slowly it takes 10 to 12 hrs of charging ..

Hi applechargersucks,
If at anytime you are having issues with charging your iPad, consult the article below first. It will have you try out a different cable or USB cable or power adapter if you have one available. If you do not have access to that then I would look into contacting Apple Support.

  • Why is the iPad charging very slowly and not completely

The iPad recently has stopped holding its charge and is charging very very slowly--even after being plugged in overnight it is only half charged. I did just download the upgrade and am wondering if that could have something to do with it?

What model iPad is it? Try a reset - press and hold  the sleep/wake button and the home button together until you see the Apple logo appear on screen (could take 10-15 seconds be patient), then release them  and allow it to finish rebooting normally. Then try charging it again. If that doesn't help then try charging it while it's powered off and see if that helps.
I had the same problem on my iPad 3 a couple of months back, before I upgraded to iOS 7. One day out of the blue it barely charged at all despite several hours on the charger. I powered it off and charged it for 2-3 hours, and it's been fine ever since. I suspect it would have been fine if I'd simply reset or restarted it.

  • Why does my iPad charge very slowly

I have charged my iPad for 3 hours and its only at 20% why does it charge so slowly? Please help I am going on vacation and I need my iPad. I have tried clearing my storage up a lot but it has done nothing.

In addition to the suggestions by Amilixkan, are you using the charger that came with your iPad?  An iPhone charger will charge an iPad, but much slower.  Another trick is to turn the device completely off (hold down the sleep wake button until slide to power off appears, then charge it with the device off.

  • My ipad charging very slowly, even decreasing while charging even im not touching it? please help

i have ipad 2nd generation , 32gb, wifi+3g, just recently update to latest ios 7..
Yesterday (july 6th) was doing fine with everything. suddenly the night (july 6th) i left my ipad on charge at 11pm at 10% remains, then wake up next day at 4 am (july 7th), and check my ipad battey level is only 29%!
i was confused, i reset by holding home+lock button so many times, and it doesnt work at all.. then i turned off my ipad and left my ipad on charge at 29% battery remains in hope something magical will happened.. then i go to sleep again (5 am), on 7 am i wake up again and find my ipad battery remains 26%! what is happening here??
what im asking is, what is happening? when i plug the cable it shows that its charging but no increase at all, even decreasing
what should i do then? what is wrong with my ipad? is it the cable, the adaptor, or ipad?
    please anyone can help me?

Are you charging by connecting it to the charger that came with the iPad and have that charger plugged into a wall outlet? this is the best way to charge an iPad. Plugging the iPad into your pc pouter USB port for charging is not recommended as most USB ports do not provide enough power to charge an iPad efficiently. Here are some things that could go wrong.
    1. Bad cable. Try a different name brand or Apple branded cable.
    2. Bad charger. Try a different charger.
    3. Direct lint or fuzz in the connector ports. Check and carefully clean with a wooden toothpick if necessary.
    4. Software failure. First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
    5. Hardware failure including battery failure. Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

  • My iPad mini adapter shorted...I bought a new one but since it charges very slowly and when charged to 100% it falls to 95% immediately after being unplugged...what might be the issue????

my iPad mini adapter shorted...I bought a new one but since it charges very slowly and when charged to 100% it falls to 95% immediately after being unplugged...what might be the issue????

When it does that. Replug the charger and charge to 100%. Now does is stay charged when you unplug the charger.
You may need to recalibrate your battery.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

  • My iPad is suddenly charging very slowly. What would cause this?

My iPad is suddenly charging very slowly. What would cause this?

That should not be the case with the charging. You may want to visit an Apple store and see what they recommend. An iPad will not charge from a USB port on a computer as there is not enough power. You say you are plugging into the wall so I am guessing there is a charger block involved. There may be something wrong with the charger block so it may be worthwhile finding another iPad charger and trying that charger.

  • Charges very slowly

my ipad takes several hours to fully charge

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • Ipad2 charging very slowly and drains the battery very quickly

  • My Macbook Pro won't charge when it's on, only charges VERY slowly when it is shutdown

My Macbook Pro won't charge when it's on. It only charges VERY slowly when it is shutdown. Recently when it was charging shutdown, I could not get it to turn on. The only way it turned on was by removing the charger from the Macbook Pro. This only happene one time but still wondering what is going on with this battery.
    Thanks for the help!

First see the MagSafe troubleshooting tips:Apple Portables: Troubleshooting MagSafe adapters and check to see that all looks ok.  You might want to try using another charger in case the charger is faulty.  If that doesn't help, take the MacBook Pro and charger to an Apple store genius bar and have the technicians test the system to see where the fault is.

  • Got big problem with my iphone , its not charging as it did before i updated (5.0.1) Now its charging very slowly and it doesnt show the charging sign on screen..

got big problem with my iphone4 , its not charging as it did before i updated (5.0.1) Now its charging very slowly and it doesnt show the charging sign on screen..

How do you know its charging very very slowly? Is the screen back on?
Once a month you should charge your phone to 100% then drain it, then charge it back up to 100%.
Just leave the phone in and do what is said above.
How long do you think it will take to charge to 100%?

  • IPad Air charging VERY slowly, sometimes "not charging" entirely.

I'm using the charger that came with the new iPad Air in a wall outlet, but it charges incredibly slowly. We're talking like 10% charge in about an hour's time. Sometimes, even with the same set up, it says "not charging" all together. I think it charges even slower when doing it through my MacBook Air. Is anyone else having this issue with their new iPad Air charging slowly?

Same issue here. At least 4 hours on the charger and only 50%. Pretty **** annoying really. I love the new Apple stuff, but every time I upgrade to a new phone, laptop or iPad I end up having to take it into the Genius bar and get it replaced. Is it too difficult to conduct more thorough testing or at least get something right.
Going to tough it out for another week before I make the long journey to the Apple store to wait in a line.
It seems the online support doesn't accept my serial number as it is 'yet to be a supported device'....well done Apple, outdoing yourselves as always
