IPad 4 loses charge too fast.

I just got a new iPad 4 it seems to lose charge too fast.  My  iPad 1 holds charge much better.  Last night I lost over 30% of charge and I made sure nothing was running.

Switch off the options you don't use like bluetooth, location services wi-fi etc.
To switch off the bluetooth option go to settings>bluetooth
To switch off the Wi-Fi option go to settings>Wi-Fi
To switch off the location services go settings>privacy>Location services.
Also reduce the brightness of the display if it is not needed from settings> brihtness & wallpaper.

  • My iPad is charging too fast!

So my iPad 2 has been what i thought was broken for the last week.  It wouldn't show up as charging using multiple docks/cords/outlets but it would charge extremely slow and that charge would run out very quickly.  I thought my 30 pin connecter on my ipad was broken butNow using my original cord it is charging super fast and showing up as charging, it is chairing at a rate of 1% every 3:30 with screen brightness up halfway and watching tv with the Netflix app.  Should I stop charging it and is my battery frying?

You can't overcharge. Once it gets to 100% it quits charging.
    Here's some general battery info.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • I feel like my iPad 2 loses it's charge too fast does anyone feel that way too?

I feel like my ipad2 loses it's charge too fast it's brand new does anyone have the same issue?

No.  But there are things to watch out for, to save your battery.  Do you completely close down your apps, at least periodically?   If not, some apps may be communicating or performing work in the background, using up power.  To check, double click the Home button.  A list of recently used apps appears along the bottom.  Press one for a few seconds until they all wiggle.  Then press the x to close them.  Admittedly many apps are not designed to multi-task, but for those that do, they keep working in the background.  Also, how high is your brightness setting.  I keep mine near the low end.  Brightness also chews up power - a lot.  Do you keep your bluetooth on?

  • What happened to my battery?? Charges too fast - lasts 25min

I just bought the new 15in PB about a month ago. Everything has been working fine until now. The battery only gives me 25 min of power. I calibrated the battery over and over. When I charge the battery, it one, charges way too fast, and two, for example, I have 43% of life left and it says I have 10min left. I take it this is a software problem. If anybody knows how to help me, please do. Thanks so much.

How about this. I had the exac same thing happen on my new PB after a few weeks of use. I tried the PMU reset twice last night to no avail. I recharged my battery over night, this morning I disconnected the power adapter and sure enough she started to drain right before my eyes. In 20 min she was empty and shut down. I left her off packed the Pb in my bag and went to work intending to call apple care and arrange for a replacement battery. I called Apple went through the regular stuff, obtained a number and was instructed to head into the nearest apple store for replacement battery. I had read someone that I should check my Pb with another battery, so I borrowed my work collegues PB, last generation, and swapped batteries, Ok his battery in my PB was great, System profiler showed that his battery had a full charge capacity of some 4000 mAh's. I then checked my battery in his PB and his system profiler showed mine as having a charge of some 4500 mAh's! before my battery in my PB showed only some 300mAh's. I reinstalled my battery into my PB and for some reason it now shows a full charge as 4451mAh's and it's acting correctly too. nw down to about 57% of charge after a few hours. I'll have to watch this over the next few days.

  • Ipad loses charge rapidly after IOS7 install.  It went from 100% to 80% without using it

  • Hi my ipad keyboard is too fast when i'm typing exemple when i type a letter a it look like aaaaaa any adea guys thanks

HI MY I PAD KEYBOARD IS TOO FAST TO CONTROL WHEN I'M TYPING EXEMPLE WHEN I TYPE A LETTER A LOOK LIKE THAT AAAAA ANY IDEAS GUY'S
    THANKS

Please explain as I have the same issue - I never know what the receiver gets. I do know that sometimes I get a replied/forwarded email with my message embedded in it and it is huge - I have set my fonts at 14pt for typing. but how an i be sure my clients don't see this huge font?
If you have used Mail > Preferences to set your font at 14pt, that will normally leave the size of the font which your recipient sees up to his own software and settings. Your outgoing email body will not contain any info about font and size unless you have deliberately set them for that particular message in the New Message pane.
In the end, it is not always possible to dictate what your clients see. Their software usually gives them the capability, if they want to use it, to read emails in the font and font size they find most comfortable.
it is so easy to enlarge a rec'd email or a safari webpage, but why can't this be done easily?
What is it that you want done exactly? Sometimes Mail just does not have the features people need. So they use Entourage or Thunderbird instead.

  • My MacBook is charging too fast.

So today I plugged the power adapter into my Mac. It was working normally, until I lift my Mac up, and it just shut down automaticly. So I did it again, and it shut down again. I put it on my table, and it was ok. But in a while, I noticed that the computer was charging super fast. I tested it with a timer. It charged 3%/minute. I took it to the Apple Store, and they said, it's normal. Well, I don't believe it. Because yesterday, it was going slow as usual. Is it actually normal?

Slow speed may be due to incompatibility of peripherals with Energy Saver mode.   When you open the lid, or go out of Sleep all the ports are in low power mode.
Also 10.6.3 is not the latest 10.6 you can run free. 10.6.8 is the latest.  Unless you know something isn't compatible with 10.6.8, I suggest upgrading at least as far as 10.6.8, as it also allows you to optimize your Java and other software:
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-5532
    Backup your data first:
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-1992
Then apply the 10.6.8 update if you are compatible with it:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
Make sure your hard drive never gets over 85% full.  Do NOT run any system cache cleaning utilities.

  • Finally upgraded to os7 now ipad loses charge quickly? Problem or coincidence?

    New to posting...please help

The upgrade to iOS 7 adds many new features and turns them all on. I think screen brightness is also turned up to the max.
So go through all settings and turn off anything you do not need. This includes push notifications, locations,  background app refresh etc. also turn down the screen brightness.
There are also some things iOS does in the background that will slow or stop once they are complete.
I updated two iPhones and two iPads and neither runs the battery down faster under iOS 7 that they did before when running iOS 6.

  • My ipod touch charges too fast!!

my problem is that it only takes half an hour for my ipod to charge from red battery(20% warning) to more than 80%.it says that at least it should take 2 hours.
I wonder if something's wrong with my battery.

It's new,I bought it last week.By using wifi for playing online games it lasts about 2.5-3 hours.I didn't test the battery just by playing music to see if it works for 40 hours.I charge it by connecting it to my pc.

  • My ipad won't start up. I downloaded iTunes on my pc while my iPad was charging - could this have caused the problem? I don't want to restore to factory settings and lose data. Any ideas or solutions? Thanks, Linda

My ipad won't start up.  I downloaded iTunes on my pc while my iPad was charging - could this have caused the problem? I don't want to restore to factory settings and lose data. I also recently successfully paired my ipad with a bluetooth keypad. Any ideas or solutions? Thanks, L

FYI, your iPad will charge much faster if you plug it directly into an electrical outlet.
When doing the reset, as Jackkcc suggests, make sure you let go of both buttons fairly promptly after the apple image appears, then wait another 10 seconds or so for the iPad to start up.  Note that a reset does not alter any data or settings.

  • Why is the IPad 4 so slow to charge and fast to discharge ??

Why does the IPad 4 discharge so fast and be so slow to recharge

    Hello, willismom.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Battery life can be difficult to troubleshoot as multiple factors contribute to how long a charge can last.  Graphic intensive applications, display brightness and data connectivity are just a few of the items that can cause the battery life to decrease rapidly.  I would need to know a little more information about your usage patterns to give you and idea on how to maximize battery life.  However, here are some tips on how to adjust settings and charge the device that may help.

  • Audio books play back too fast on iPad

Audiobook play back too fast on iPad .Ok when played back computer have tried re setting iPad and adjusting speech speed

Have your rebooted/restarted your iPad? you do that by pressing the Home and power/sleep button at the same time until the slider to power off the iPad appears. Slide the slider and when screen activity stops depress the two buttons again until the Apple logo appears. When the iPad completes rebooting try again to see if that solved your problem.
