I've noticed the following bug. When I'm on vk using the Safari browser, when I browse the website's newsfeed, either iOS reboots or Safari shuts down.
I've noticed it happens only when I'm on vk, haven't checked with other websites.
Can anyone tell me what it is? Does it mean I have to update my device to iOS 8?

You can certainly update to ios 8.1.3 to see if it corrects your problem. IOS 8 works fine on my iPad 4. No problems at all.

According to Apple's customer service line you can return an engraved iPad for an exchange, but it's not clear if it's within 14 or 30 days. If you call they says 30, but their site says 14. I think it has to be purchased straight through Apple though. Contact where you bought it from and tell them you are thinking of buying a iPad and having it engraved, but are concerned about the refund policy. They'll explain it in more detail at that time.

My Ipad will not connect to wifi anywhere since I have updated it to ios6. At home I have done everything under the sun to try and fix this problem that I have found on the internet. At home I have several ipod touch's, iphone, mac, apple tv, everything connects to my wifi except my ipad. I have reset Networks, Restored my ipad several times and nothing is working. I have tried to connect t several places besides home and it will not connect. Can someone please help very FUSTRATED!!!

Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

IOS 5 used to allow Airplay between iPad (WiFi) and Apple TV (Ethernet) as long as they were on the same network. In iOS 6, now both the iPad and the Apple TV have to be on the same network and both have to be connected using WiFi ? Why did they change ?

iOS 5 used to allow Airplay between iPad (WiFi) and Apple TV (Ethernet) as long as they were on the same network, i.e. connected to the same wired/wireless router. In iOS 6, now both the iPad and the Apple TV have to be on the same network and both have to be connected using WiFi ? Why did they change this ? Means that the iPad and the Apple TV box both have to be in range of the wireless router when this wasn't a restriction before. Apple TV could be anywhere as long as it was connected to the same wireless router via ethernet cable. Seems like an unnecessary thing to restrict.

I have found with AppleTV that it is the IPV6 on the computer you want to access is the problem. The issue is that Homegroup on Win 7 or Win 8 requires IPV6 to work, but AppleTV won't work with IPV6. (So maybe double check you have IPV6 turned off)
So you have to make a choice - Homegroup or AppleTV.... but you can't have both, until Apple brings ATV up to date. (crazy that it does not recognise IPV6 - c'mon Apple!)
You can set up sharing individually in Win 7 or 8 and have the ATV access files that way.
Having said that, there is always the exception.. I have an old HP home server running Win8 and it services ATV - but is part of the Homegroup... have no idea why it works on both, but no other machine on the home network will talk to both ATV and Homegroup at the same time!

Resetting the settings will reset things like the wallpaper to the default. It wont remove the apps or music.
As the previous poster said, the apps and music will be tied to the previous owners Apple ID, you'll need the password to update the apps and remain authorized to play the music.
I would suggest taking your stuff off (the camera pictures) then erasing all content and settings so the iPad is like new. For privacy reasons alone I would erase the device. I realise you want to keep the music, but since you haven't paid for it (it was purchased under someone elses ID) then it isn't yours to keep, you'll need to write down the tracks and purchase them under your ID.

Why is my internet speed slower on my 4g iPod touch compared to my 1g iPad (Wifi only), though we use the same router?

i bought my 4g iPod touch just 3 months ago fromt the US. Internet speed was just fine and working consistently while i was using a d-link router.
my Wi-Fi network is password protected and since has not affected the speeds on my pc or my iPad (wifi only). However, just 4 weeks ago, i bought a new router, an Aztec one. That has not improved or worsened the speeds on my pc or iPad, but worsens only my iPod touch, even though it says its connected and has a full signal strength.
Here are the symptoms:-
1. iMessage is now really slow as after i click send, the loading bar at the top lags.
2. i can't go on to google or any site or app that involves internet connection e.g. Facebook, Twitter
3. I can't purchase or get apps from the App store as the searching takes way too long.
4. Now as i pull down the notifications bar, it shows temperature but no stock; i can't even access the Stocks app
5. I can see the temperature for the day on the notifications, but i cant see the details for the rest of the week like i was able to
6. I now cant read any updated emails on Mail as it takes way too long
I live in a country called Brunei, and speeds are the worst there, yet they shouldn't be this slow especialy when my friends and other devices are working.
So, what's wrong? Is it my new router?

Have you tried a simple reset of your iPod to see if that helps? To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
Otherwise, have you tried any of the troubleshooting mentioned in this Apple support document?

I found the following that goes over troubleshooting the same issue for the iPhone. I know you have an iPad, but the steps should still apply:
Perform the following steps:
Restart the iPhone.
Try another means of reaching the activation server and attempt to activate.
Try connecting to a known-good Wi-Fi network if you're unable to activate using a cellular data connection.
Try connecting to iTunes if you're unable to activate using Wi-Fi.
Restore the iPhone.
If you receive an alert message when you attempt to activate your iPhone, try to place the iPhone in recovery mode and perform a restore. If you're still unable to complete the setup assistant due to an activation error, contact Apple for assistance.

I never thought that I would forget the fact that before downloading some software from Internet, I should disable my antivirus, firewall, anti spyware and cos.
Now, if you don't mind for another question. Do you know why ITunes with Windows 7 has (PC) problem to recognize my whole songs I have in ITunes with Widows Vista (Notebook)? It is around 200 titles, which are missing.

IPad WiFi Connection Problems - WiFi Symbol Appears With Full Bars but I Don't Get A Checkmark?

I was using the iPad one day and then all of a sudden it stopped connecting to the internet. The network at this hotel is very good and I've asked them about their router so it is not the router's problem.
I go to the Settings and tap on Wi-Fi then I tap on the hotel network. After a few seconds, it says the network name beside the Wi-Fi tab and it gives me the WiFi symbol showing 3 bars. But then I never get the checkmark or tick saying everything is connected. I try going online and it says the iPad is not connected to the internet. I've tried an iPhone and it connected and got a checkmark in a few seconds. I've talked to the front desk and he took out his phone and showed me that he could connect, he even opened a page without any problems at all.
I've been trying to find a solution for this for a long time. I've been searching Google over and over again. I turned Airplane Mode on for 1 minute, I've tried Resetting my Network settings, I've tried forgetting the network and reconnecting again, I've tried removing all restrictions from the iPad, I've rebooted the iPad A LOT, etc.
So this is my problem for people who don't want to read the whole message:
1. I can't connect to the internet with the iPad
2. It shows the WiFi symbol saying its connected but I never get the checkmark or tick.
3. It's not the router problem.
4. I've tried other networks and it doesn't work. It just keeps on showing that loading circle right beside the network name.
5. Do any of you know what this problem is? Or do you have a solution?

Ipad wifi does not connect after upgrading firmware to 3.2.2

So many posts and replies on connection to wifi with iPad not working... My issue is that everyhing worked perfect a home until i upgraded firmware to latest (3.2.2?). Now it connects and disconnects in second intervals ??!!
no changes has been made to my router and my two macs connect as before, only iPad does not
Very frustrating indeed, so any tips on what i should do?

They may be purchased unlocked at full price. But whether you can use them in Brazil depends on whether you have GSM service there.
Note that if you buy in the US then any warranty work will require you to bring the device to the US for service. The US warranty is only good in the US, not in Brazil. You would be better off buying it in Brazil which will also save you duty and import taxes plus US sales tax.

Ipad wifi sync fails

[I'll bet a nickel this has been posted at least once elsewhere on this forum and others, but I've yet to find a reliable solution.]
Systems: two 13" MBPs running 10.8.1, two iPads running iOS6. The problem: WiFi sync no longer works as it did before OS upgrades on these devices.
The MBPs do not recognize the iPads (though, oddly enough, my MBP recognizes my iPhone). Attempted workaround: hard reset on the iPad as suggested elsewhere, which included refreshing the network connection and ensuring the iTunes preferences enabled wireless sync.
Further info. Cable connection to iPads allows *some* sync, although this does not perform flawlessly with photos as it once did. New photos are no longer imported *from* the iPads *to* the MBPs. This necessitates a manual import via iPhoto. Upon manual import, we find that iPhoto on the iPads becomes involved in its own "re-indexing" (or at least I assume that's what it's doing), rendering events, albums, and photos unavailable, and response time unacceptable. On the iPads we must fall back on the Photos app until iPhoto recovers.
I'm posting here, in addition to having posted in the "Genius Bar" at appleinsider, in hopes of finding a solution or at least recognition of the fact that this is an ongoing problem.
