Ipad 4 won't connect to my computer
My ipad 4 will not connect to my computer/itunes. I have the most recent OS and the most recent itunes. When I pug the in my ipad the computer doesn't even regonize it to charge it. help please
Your computer will probably not supply enough power to charge the iPad so that is not unusual. Do you hear the chirp sound when you plug it in? If you do, that's a good sign.
If you are using iTunes 11, you might not realize that the iPad is being recognized because you don't see the sidebar. You can enable the side bar from the iTunes menu - View>Show Sidebar or by using the keyboard shortcut - CTRL+S (Windows) or Option+Command+S (Mac). After you enable the sidebar you should be able to see the iPad under the Devices heading in the sidebar.

My ipad mini won't connect to my computer anymore.
my ipad mini wont connet to my computer anymore, i plug it in i see the battery for a second then it says not charging and it will not connect with itunes. it has worked fine up until now.
If you are running a Mac, the repair for your iOS device not being seen by iTunes could be very simple : repair your permissions. Create a bootable USB keychain drive with the latest version of OSX on it. Boot from it. Use Disk Utility to repair the permissions.
NOTE : Please remember to continue running permissions repair until it returns zero fixes. This fix also assumes you have diligently updated your Mac to the very latest OS and other software available from Apple.
Then just boot from your internal drive as normal, and see if it works. I don't know if this will work for you, but it is another possibility to try, and worked for a Mac Pro tower (running 10.8.5 and the latest version of iTunes 11.1.x). -
Ipad 2 won't connect to MY laptop - help
My ipad 2 won't connect to my laptop properly. It used to work fine, I haven't done it in a while (5 months). It charges with usb charger.
When i plug it in, Windows 7 plays the little tune indicating something is connected (tada!), but nothing show up in "My Computer" or itunes. On device manager it shows that something is plugged in to the usb port and there is some exchanged of power. Nothing changes on the ipad (does not display "not charging" at the top right)
When I plug it in to another laptop, it works fine. Other things I plug into my laptop work the way they should. So it's a problem with my computer and the ipad.
On apple support, I have followed all the troubleshooting steps for problems with connecting ipad to itunes. (nothing worked) I've also updated itunes, updated my ipad, reset my ipad and restarted my computer and various other trivial things.Hopefully this will help:

Ipad Air won't open in My Computer
Hi,
My Ipad Air won't open in My Computer on my PC. My Iphone and older Ipad open just fine, but my newer one won't. It shows up fine in Itunes.
I'm trying to get on it to see about copying photos. My PC has, for some reason, converted a bunch of my photos to the .ithmb suffix and they won't open on my PC. This whole episode is baffling. Any help would be appriciated.Hello BHP11,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with importing photos from your iPad Air.
First, if the AutoPlay dialog box does not open, the following article suggests to check your settings:
Import photos in Windows Vista or Windows 7
Import photos or video from your device to your PC:
Connect your iOS device to your computer. If the AutoPlay window appears, click "Import Pictures and Videos using Windows," then skip to step 4. If the "Import Pictures and Video" dialog appears, skip to step 4.
If the AutoPlay dialog doesn't appear, you might need to check your settings.

IPod Touch 4th Gen won't connect to my computer, charge or connect to iTunes.
Okay, here is the issue. My computer runs Windows Vista. Ever since I have updated iTunes to 11.0.2, my iPod touch hasn't been able to connect to the computer at all. I don't know if there is any correlation between the update and my issue, but I need someone to be the judge of that. Apple has suggested that you uninstall iTunes, QuickTime, etc. restart the computer and then reinstall them. So I have done that multiple times, and my iPod still won't connect to the computer. My sister's iPod touch, 4th gen just like mine won't connect to iTunes or the computer either. I have spent a lot of time looking up possible solutions, but none of them work at all. I've done everything Apple suggests in troubleshooting and such, but nothing works. I was hoping someone else might be able to give me a solution. One that hopefully does not involve uninstalling and reinstalling Apples programs, which I have done several times.
I have tried all accessable USB ports on my computer, and I have switched between the four different USB cords that we have, so this isn't the issue. My PS Vita will connect to the computer with no issue at all, so it isn't the USB ports either. I can plug my iPod Touch into my PS3 and it will charge the instant I plug either end of the cable in, the same for my sister's. I can plug it into the dock on my mother's alarm clock and it will charge just fine. I'm open to any suggestion, so please help me out here.
-JaySo you tried everything here:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears. and Control+B to show the Menu bar
Try connecting to another computer to help determine if you have an iPod or computer problem. -
Ipod stuck in lock mode and won't connect to Windows computer
My Ipod is stuck on the lock position and won't connect to my computer when I plug it in. The hold switch moves back and forth just fine and it was working perfectly yesterday. It's the classic nano that's square. It's stuck on a song that I used as my alarm yesterday morning. I haven't turned it on since then and when I pushed the on switch, it went to the screen but then wouldn't do anything else. I've tried to hold down the menu and middle button while moving the hold switch, but it didn't work. Please help!
I fixed it! I had to switch the hold button from on to off to on again and then held the menu and middle button down at the same time. It works just fine now!

I recently updated my ipad and then I connected with my computer for sync, not realising that I had a new version of itunes with none of my apps. Now I have lost all of the apps and books etc, that I had prurchased. How do I get them back?
As long as the apps and ibooks are still available in the store, and you use the same iTunes account as you originally used to buy them, then you should be able to re-download them for free : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519

My ipad 2 won't connect to internet
My ipad 2 won't connect to wi-fi after installing new modem/router. It says connected in settings but " no server connection " message appears when I try to go on internet. All other devices work fine.
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

Ok. Do other things work on your home internet?
Generally, you go into settings, wifi and you should see the name of your home network. Tap on that and you should be prompted to enter the password you set up on your network (presuming it's password protected).
If it just stopped working, you can always try to power cycle the router....as in unplug the router's power. Count to ten, plug it back in and let it reboot. -
Apple tv won't connect to my computer
I just got ATV2 for my husband for his birthday. It connects to his computer just fine, and initally connected to my computer (we both have macs), but now it won't connect to my computer. I have updated my software, turned on home-sharing, etc, but it still won't connect! Any ideas??

Ipod won't connect to the computer at all.
My 3rd Generation iPod nano won't connect to the computer at all. Therefore it has no battery for me too be able to reset or try to do anything with it.
I've only been advised to make sure that i have the most recent version of iTunes?
Could anyone help please?
Thanks, Hollie.Try uninstalling the drivers,
Plug in your iPod
Right click on My Computer and click on Manage
that will bring you to the Computer Management
On the left hand side click on device manager
on the right side click on the plus sign next to Universal Serial Bus Controllers
it will show a list, in that list locate iPod or USB mass storage device
right click and select uninstall
Unplug your iPod and plug it back in
Windows should automatically start installing them again
if nothing pops up then right click on Universal Serial Bus Controllers
and choose scan for hardware changes
If that doesn't work
Go back into Computer Management
Click on Disk Management on the right
and on the left it should say your iPod
Right click and go into change drive letter and paths
click on the change button
Change it to something like N or M
Click ok, you will get a message saying "changing the drive letter may cause the program to no longer run are you sure you want to change this drive letter"
click ok
then restart your computer -
IPod Won't Connect to PC Computer
I have had some issues I wasn't able to fix concerning my iPod Classic and my PC computer. Until recently, my iPod 120G Classic would not connect to my computer. I have downloaded the most recent version of iTunes, I've tried resetting it, and I've restarted my computer a couple times. I cannot restore it cause it won't connect to my computer. I've tried Disk Mode as well as changing USB ports. This didn't work. What happens is that it says USB not readable or something similar to that on the connection for half a second than disappears. This has been occuring ever since I synced a movie to my Classic. Any suggestions on how to fix it?

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Ipod shuffle second generation won't connect to my computer
I'm operating on Window 8.1 and my iPod Shuffle 2nd Gen won't connect to my computer. My USB port and cord are working because it does make the connection noise when I plug it in but it does not show up in My Comptuer or in My Devices on iTunes. This is the second iPod Shuffle 2nd Gen I've had this issue with.
If you have not already, as a test, shut down (power off) your computer and disconnect all USB devices (including any hub). You can leave standard keyboard/mouse connected, if used. If it's a laptop, connect its power adapter so that it's not running on battery power. If the shuffle's power switch is ON, put it in the OFF position. Power up the computer, run iTunes, and connect shuffle to a direct USB port on the computer, by itself. This is a test for possible interference between connected USB devices. Any difference?
If that does not help (or you already tried), does your computer have USB 3.0 ports (instead of 2.0). If so, and if you happen to have an older USB 2.0 hub that is powered (has its own power supply), try connecting the hub to your computer and your shuffle to the hub.
