Ipad 4 wont charge

Has anyone had trouble with the new ipad4 not charging, only had it 2 days brought it on holiday, battery ran out and now wont charge???

Could be a defective charger.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). The current provided by most USB ports on computers is not sufficient to charge the iPad. It may charge but the not charging icon will show, and the charge rate will be quite slow.

My Ipad 4 wont charge on its original 12W wall charger

My Ipad 4 wont charge on its original 12W wall charger but when i charge it to an ASUS 7watts charger it runs and goes 100%. Thus Its cable is good.
Please advise what would be the next move to address this issue. I dont want to use other brand of charger just to use and appreciate the new 12W adapter.

So when you use the Apple charger it doesn't work but when you use the Asus one it does?
Suggests to me that the charger is bad.
If your charger is less than a year old, make an appointment at your local apple store and take it in. It should be covered by the warranty against manufacturer's defects. If it's out of warranty, you can buy replacement chargers at any major retailer. (I got one for my iPad at Walmart)
Just make sure to get an Apple one, not a knock off.

Hi When you change your iPad, even if its off it will, turn on when you connect, to charger Check lightining port for any bits. Do a Reboot press &hold power button & menu button hold both down until you see Apple Logo This may help. Cheers Brian

When you connect the USB cable to your Mac, does it indicate "Not Charging"? If so, the cable is probably OK. Then the charger may be the culprit. Make sure the 30-pin connector is fully seated in the side of the iPad.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
And this - Unplug the charger from the iPad and then replug. May resume charging.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). I also tried a different cable, but the same problem remains.

The battery may be dead. If you have an apple store nearby make an appointment and take it in. They can give you a diagnosis and you can go from there.

Iphone/ipad 2 wont charge

for about a week now, neither iphone (we have two) or my ipad two will charge. when pulled in to charge it says something like "accessery not supported". my husbands charger is a walmart store bought, while my phone and ipad are pulled into my mac laptop or a apple charger. we are able to get intermintent charging but. its like stand on your head, hold one ear load and do a dance to get it to work.

A little history first. When I first got my iPhone 3GS it changed with everything, my iMac and a variety of chargers including an iHome I got for a present. Around the time I uploaded a firmware patch to the iPhone, the one that corrected the signal strength meter for cell reception, I started getting warnings about being plugged into an unsupported charger. At first they were intermittent and I didn't pay them serious attention because unplugging & plugging the iPhone back in usually resolved the issue. Unfortunately it got progressively worse. I would get the message every time and I could only get the iPhone charged by leaving it plugged into the fairly new iHome almost all the time. I had tried everything including cleaning the contacts, blowing air on the contacts, resetting the iPhone, powering it on & off, everything. I finally decided to try one more thing. Since most of my chargers were at least a year old, with the exception of the iHome, I decided to buy a new charger. Not just any charger but one rated to charge the iPad. Well it worked. I got the unsupported charger message the first time I plugged it into the new charger but I just unplugged it and plugged it back in again & haven't seen it again as long as I'm plugged into the new charger and it's been 3 weeks. The curious thing is that the iPhone will now charge on the iHome OK & I only see the message intermittently now. The iPhone also seems to charge a lot faster now than it used to when plugged into the new charger.
By the way, if anyone is interested the charger I'm using is the Griffin PowerDuo 10 watt charger for iPod, iPhone & iPad. It comes with both a wall & car charger & cable.

Ipad 1 wont charge.

I have an Ipad 1...2 weeks ago I tried syncing to my computer and it wont register it even connected. Ive updated all apps on computer and still nothing. any ideas?
then last night I tried hooking up to my apple (the one given with the ipad) and it registers its hooked up but gives the "not charging." I have tried the computer again and nothing then also tried another ipad charger and still nothing. Any ideas?

Operating system is whatever came already installed.

Have you tried a reset to see if it chargers after the iPad has restarted ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
If that doesn't work, and you've tried another cable and charger, then you may need to contact Apple.
