Ipad 4th Gen Screen Died after Half Bright and Half Dim Screen

Hey all,
I have an Black Ipad 4th gen Wifi. I recently experienced the "Half Bright Half Dim" problem where the right hakf of my ipad was dim and the left was bright and then today I was using it closed the cover and when I opened it again it wouldnt work at all.. When I plug the device into the computer it shows up and detects it but there is no screen acticity or anything it stays blank I have tried to hard reset etc but I cant get it into recovery Mode because It doesnt allow me to see when its restarted.

After being connected to a charging source overnight try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I had a screen replacement and now the Ipad 4th gen touch screen is not working in one area ( a strip across the middle). We tried 3 different touch screens with digitizer...any ideas?

Since Apple doesn't replace screens, they replace the iPad, I presume you had your screen replaced by an unauthorized service provider or perhaps you replaced it yourself. That voids the warranty and the ability to get assistance from Apple. If someone else replaced your screen take it back to them and demand the correct the problem.

Double-click the Home button and swipe Task Bar to the right. Check the Rotation Lock on the far left of Task Bar.

IPad 4th Gen and Safari crashing, plus running like a slug after IOS7 upg

Since I updated my iPad 4th Gen with the latest IOS it has become the worst piece of electronic equipment I own, I received in February as a birthday present and now I feel it’s totally useless.
Safari crashes constantly, it takes forever to open any url I try to go to, I have multiple I mean multiple tabs/ or whatever they call them now that I just cannot close, Its runs like a dead slug, it’s so slow, it’s a absolute nightmare.
I would actually liken it to the early days of Microsoft’s first attempts at windows, yea I know I said it. I’m typing this on my Windows 8 pc and you know what it actually works very very well. Unlike my nice new IPad, which after the update does not, the problems are too numerous to mention. What are apple doing about it ? and has anyone found a solution - fix - workaround please.

I'm having the same issue. Safari is useless. I have tried numerous things to try to fix it and it is not working at all. It's slow and I can't close any tabs either. I just got my IPad 4 three weeks ago so I feel your pain. I wish Apple would fix this. I use Chrome and Mercury apps for browsing and they work just fine. However, I have no problems on my IPhone 4s with the update.

What is wrong with my iPad (4th Gen) screen?

Hi all,
My iPad 4th gen screen has stopped working.
It just shows a white fuzzy screen with a thick grey bar across the screen. I have done some percussive therapy (hitting the back) and the thick bar changed colour but other than that nothing happens. I have tried a restore as well but still no luck!
I have trawled through google and some of the ofrums here but i cant find anything about this. Does anyone have any ideas? It has just ran out of warranty as well.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. Attention to the apple developer, u need to check the issue about the iMovie which installed in an iPad 4th gen. Is having a problem during closing the app from the theater page to the home screen. It doesn't closes exactly severally...

Thanks for the swift reply, I have been looking online and a loose plug seems to be somewhat of an issue with many, I hope mine is actually a problem and not what others are experiencing. It's taken me this long to even reach out for the simple fact I HATE being a complainer but this is just horrible.

A reset may help. Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off buttons for approximately 10-15 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. When the logo appears, release both buttons.
No content is affected by this procedure.

How much do apple(UK) charge to replace a cracked screen on an ipad 4th gen?

My son accidentally dropped our ipad 4th gen retina display on the kitchen tiles and the screen glass has shattered in the top right corner and there are 2 large cracks across the screen which end at the home button. The ipad is still in full working order apart from the cracked screen (I am using it now) I have booked to take it into apple next week and it is still under warranty. Just wondered if anybody has any idea on how much they will charge for the repair? Thanks

Accidental damage isn't covered by the warranty. Here in the UK the cost for replacing the iPad 4 (it's not repaired) is £249 (from here, add £7.44 if shipping is required).

I just received a new ipad 4th gen, however after having plugged in for an hour i've had nothing but the red line in the battery charging sign and then a couple of seconds after a bright wight light over the screen, any ideas? my fault or return to the shop???

IPad 4th Gen slow wifi?

Hello! I finally upgraded my 1st Gen iPad to the new 4th Gen wifi. After restoring it from a previous backup and getting it all set up, I ran the "speed test" app by Ookla and was surprised to see I was only getting 3-5 Mbps when my cable speed should be near or above 30. I grabbed my iPhone 5 and put them next to each other and ran the test on both at the exact same time. The iPhone 5 was >30 Mbps and the 4th gen iPad was still in the 3-5 range. I'm using the latest Airport extreme as a router. Both devises are running iOS 6.01. Any ideas?

I figured it out! When using speedtest.net it picks the "closest server" to run the test. It shows in the upper part of the screen. I noticed that the server my iPhone was using was different than the one my iPad was using... You can go into settings on the app and choose a server (it listed 4 or 5), I changed it to the same one my iPhone was using and the speed test was exactly the same result. Thus it's not an iPad issue, rather an issue with connecting to different servers through your Internet provider. Let me know if you have any problems figuring it out and I'll help.
