Ipad 7.0 Music Playback-No Fullscreeen Art in Landscape?

I use my Ipad 2 in the car..dashboard mount. Docked to radio. Due to size I can't portrait this.
In IOS6 and earlier, I had no problems playing my music/playlists. Due to the way it ran, I'd
have it playing and it'd be doing the full-screen artwork.
But now, with these IOS7 stuff, it doesn't (at least from manuals and my own experiments)
have a way to do this anymore. The closest thing I get is going to "now playing"...
But here's the issue. That doesnt' fullscreen the art. The art is only half-screen height and has
the big bands for player control and name top + bottom. And of course, more blankness on the
sides of the art.
On top of that, these outside-the-art is blank/white. All this is fine if you're sitting with your face
in the Ipad... but in the car, it's a ways to the dash.. and in order to be able to "see" the artwork
I have to max the brightness. Which now means it's like a fricking light bulb...at nighttime this is
way too bright for safety in the car. At least in 6.0 and earlier...surrounding areas were dark.
But this pure white at night is just like driving with a flashlight in your face no matter what.
Is there _any_ way to get the artwork truly full-screen again??
Or to get the borders dark at least? (besides going inverted and seeing inverted color art).
I doubt so due to the way they seem to not like people to "customize" anything different than the
conforming "same look" to everyone else (oddly ironic to me since remembing original apple
advertisement for macs promoting non-conformity   )
Currently due to the danger of having brightness this way, I'm no longer able to use it in the
car (esp at night) to where I can visibly have it showing. Portrait gives bigger artwork..but
II can't do this due to too much windshield/driving view blocking. And it has a good amount
of blinding white as well...so...
Any Ideas?

These sorts of general software errors are best fixed by cleaning house and starting over.
Do a very good backup of all App data (check in setting, iCloud, storage, manage storage, all apps.  Note which apps you want saved and turn switch ON/green)
If you have very good wifi and an up to date computer:
Restore to factory then setup as new from backup you just made.
Then restore backup from iCloud
